When I make new characters I always pick up the Raider power armor first because you can use that already from lvl 15. A tip to get "unlimited" fusion cores is to absolutely abuse the atomic workshop down in south west close to the train station. Yeah, the excavator power armor is awesome.
I love excavator armor. If you want ultracite PA but aren't up to fighting the SBQ repeatedly hop to a server that has the nuke drop on it and go to the drop site where people usually take the queen down. If the corpse has disappeared it drops all the plans for each player that did damage to the queen. Very easy to farm all the basic plans for the PA.

Correction: Excavator is the best power armor _period._ The advantages of Excavator far outweigh the minimal damage reduction increase you get from higher-tier power armor types. Plus, legendary effects like Overeater's or Sentinel, or mods like Emergency Protocols more than make up the damage reduction difference.

The primary drawback to Excavator Armor is no jet pack. Excavator is a good first armor but most everybody’s going to want a jet pack as soon as possible. And with that Hydraulic Shocks are pretty much essential on whatever legs you use.
there's jetpack though. For a time it was possible to put a jetpack on Excavator. and unlike other legacy mods, this _hasn't_ been removed yet, at least not on PC (I have 3 Excavator chest pieces with jetpacks on them if you need one).
I appreciate the video, I used it as a reference when first started the "miner miracles" mission. I know it's not the strongest power armor, but I like the design aesthetic. It has robust "mining" meets "NFL offensive lineman" look to it. The 100 lb carry capacity set bonus is great too.
best power armor for everyone in general is the excavator power armor with the carry weight mod. that's 200 extra carry weight. funny enough, I got an ultracite power armor after finishing the fort defiance quest so during an event in the nuking place with the flying monster, once the event ended I dropped that armor in front of everyone and a lv 29 guy took it, I even gave him 2 cores. the amazing thing about this is that there were a bunch of guys and girls but nobody took it. without communicating we all agreed that the lv 29 guy deserved it and we all acted accordingly. i love this community. I'm in no way a lv 600 I barely reached lv 175 but it feels nice to help the others at low levels. specially since my first experience in game was a group of assholes hunting and killing me all across the map until I was able to find the passive mode option which I didn't know existed so I kept dying and losing caps
If you spend a bit of time vendor hopping it’s pretty easy to find a full set of overeaters excavator or ultracite piece by piece , for pretty cheap. Excavator mods are much easier to obtain for new player though.
Just hit lv55. Definitely worth waiting to craft it at 45. And for any new players now finding this you can get black titanium and even s little ultracite in belching betty down near the rusty pick which you can use to craft this
I know it's a little late, but there's a bug with the posters. You can bypass it by going straight to the computer at the reception around 2:00 . That should let you continue with the quest line.
i found something unbelievable one time when i was looting the aaronholt homestead, in the street nearby i saw a power armor just standing there, nobody was inside, i looted it and it had a FULL FUSION CORE
I'm still using this armor but mostly because it seems to be the only legendary PA that drops other than Raider. I am beginning to suspect it only drops legendary PA armor that you have plans for as nothing seems to ever drop except Excavator. I did get a T-60 piece once from a Spooky Scorch but yeah... Sadly this is the only armor that drops for me. Eventually I'll earn enough cores to roll my Union Armor set.
getting the screws was such a painful process...by the time I got the armor I'd found 3-4 sets of other power armor lol. I'd use it even more if I didn't max vendor caps so quickly everyday
I'm a relativly new player to the game, have played for a couple of weeks and I'm at lvl 70 right now and I really don't want to use a power armor. I've played most of the Fallout games and I've never used a power armor because I think it looks kinda...stupid, but now I realise I maybe have to use one in Fallout 76, starting to reach enemies where I just cannot survive in regular armor while spamming stimpacks. Also telling new player to head to Garrahan Mining Headquarters is just mean lmao, I went into that place the other day and I've never in my whole playthrough seen the level of security like in that place, it's just ridiculous
Still using mine at lvl 400 but plan on switching it out with the Union PA set (set bonus gives +75 carry weight and Poison Resist). Joined season 10 late and missed out on two pieces. Damn stamps are so annoying to get. Oh, is that my 10,000th wrench I see on the floor?
I feel your pain. I was going through an upgrade process when The Pitt dropped, so I wasn't able to complete that run. I don't think I obtained only one limb for Union.
Wanna hear a funny thing?) Me, lvl 485 I'm using Excavator PA with only ONE legendary piece) And this doesn't stop me from soloing any operation below 8 min, or soloing the Pitt with all objectives)
Hellooooo, new player here, well somewhat new. I'm currently level 41 and I tried going to Garrahan to get the quest, but it doesn't let me interact with the poster. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

No problem. It can be confusing. Just bring your PA over to the station and you can craft or modify. If it puts on pieces you don't want while crafting, which it will, just put it down and use the transfer option to remove/place pieces on the chassis. Hope this helps buddy :)
Thanks, my issue seems to be that it doesn’t matter which pa station i am using. Because once i put my pa in. It won’t let me do anything. Usually have to quit out to main menu.
i am new to fallout 76. you said in your video you level up fast but i am only lvl 17 and having a hard time leveling up i have 3 power armor chassis and the plans for the excavator armor. do you hav a video on how to level up fast?
Unless your using another set for the extra bonuses (hellcat/union) you might as well just use excavator as most of the actual damage reduction in standard PA comes from the frame . The basic survivability difference across all the base game PAS is pretty negligible . Your perks and the legendary prefix will make the most difference.
Sadly this quest has bugged out for me ive tried starting it multiple times ,world and game resets but it just wont start the quest at the sign even though the marker is there for the quest ,any advice?
I need a beginners guide because I’m at a part in the game where I need powe armor because I hate switching to hazmat or stealth armor to fight scorchbeast queen in a nuke zone
I'll see what I can do buddy! Just get to level 45 and work one getting this power armor. It'll help you in nuke zones. Just have radaway handy and you should be good! You can do it ;)
Tunnel of Love will provide all the black titanium you’ll ever need. Question about that though. Once this season has ended will Nuka World leave or are all the events going to be permanent additions?
i got my gatling gun...it's lvl 40 XD so i went to whitesprings to buy the plans, they wanted 3464 caps, that's like 55% of my hard earned caps T.T i'll just use the minigun at 35
@@necrosiss2170 just learned about oe from angry turtle. Just got the full set of t65 so I'm rolling for oe for that. I have better luck with rolling one star on each piece took me ten tries to get at least 3 of them OE.
I'm trying to get the weapons meant for tank builds( power armour builds). I got the perks but I'm trying to find good weapons for the build specifically.
I find that the power armour in public get snagged so I am more likely to find one in private and I have found several in private and the only one in public I found was left by a player!!!

Excavator is good, but I'd say union's is better. Almost as good carry weight on top of the poison mitigation.

Jetpack is over rated.
there's jetpack though. For a time it was possible to put a jetpack on Excavator. and unlike other legacy mods, this _hasn't_ been removed yet, at least not on PC (I have 3 Excavator chest pieces with jetpacks on them if you need one).

Tried this last night. The sign at the beginning had button prompt do activate to start the quest. Idk if it was bugged or something.

I love farming t-45 sets and giving them to new players who spawn in. I’ll spend hours doing it

You can still do the quest just go to the bottom and access the terminal the quest progress is bugged but not the actual quest
Found Garrahan at level 8 and snuck in behind a 33 to get access to the PC. Now I just need Black Titanium. I will get this power armor.
If i remember right level 20/25 locked reward.
You can do the quest before but will be unable to build the armor.
Minimum is Level 25 :)

I've crafted dozens of level 10 T-45s for beginners. It's truly game breaking.
I'd prefer the excavator tng.

You can get the power armour without following the quest just go to the bottom and access the terminal
I keep trying to activate the poster but it won’t allow me to even though the quest marker tells me to look at the poster I can’t activate it

Excavator is a must in my opinion. Definitely a good idea :)

I use my Sheepsquatch skinned Excavator armor and put my other pretty ones in displays.

Ultracite PA is easy enough, most players end up selling the plans cheap and you get them from just joining in on all the Scorched Earth events.
I feel the Excavator is a much better option. It's a short mission to get the plans, has an insane carry weight limit, and the plans can be bought.

Just go to the terminal instead of the sign trust me that happened to me aswell

they are permanent addictions i think, the season scoreboard is just nuka-world themed
