I also tried recording, the result of the recorded sound is also quite good. It was my pleasure, a '"Like" would be nice;-) To use the pitchbutton you need to pull it (if it is pushed it doesn`t work) After pulling it you can turn it and the tape runs slower or faster, depending on the direction of turning. It makes NO Sense to use it for playing the recording faster or slower for any reason. But it is useful if you have drums recorded (maybe on track 1) and you want record a guitar on track 2 but you cant play that fast as you should to be in time. No you pull the button and turn it to "slower" and the drums play slower and you can record your guitar now in time. After that you push the button back in and WOW the guitar is as fast as your drums. Thats what the pitcher was made for. Only problem: The "pitched" track is a little bit "lighter/higher" in Sound, dont know the exact english Word. When you pitch Voice then it will sound like Mickey Mouse`s Voice if you pitch too much. A little bit sometimes sounds nice. You can hear that effect on Dolly Partons "Yolene". Her Voice became higher and faster, some people like it. Some artists also use it in the other Way, to get their Voice deeper like Rick Astley with Never gonna give you up in the 80th. Pitch also works on any other Instrument or for very special effects.

Ja danke. Die Abmessungen sind immer so ne Sache, war in den 80ern schon bei Kassettenplayern immer so ne Sache aber da hatte man auch keine Wahl. Hab leider bei der Tascam auch nie nachgemessen. Da die Riemen bei ebää relativ preisgünstig sind würde ich Experimente nicht empfehlen.
Habe mir den Riemen bei derselben Quelle besorgt wie kurz im Video ersichtlich -- sitzt, paßt, wackelt und hat Luft. Der alte Riemen war auf das doppelte Format angewachsen -- ein Wunder, daß der keinen Schaden angerichtet hat am Motor auf seinem Weg halb ins Geräteinnere...
hi from the uk i have worked on alot of tascam 38 decks change the belt is just the main things to do beware there's that can play up big time to service tec you need to check the servo motor is getting the right volts and the power to the audio cards is right note mn the power reg goes 36v can hit the servo capstan motor 24v 33v volts is right keep there hands of the pots to the VU amp pots i have seen them all over the place i have seen smoke coming out of tascam 38 as the power reg's pop if you are a tec a deep check would not take long i have alot of this model so i know what i am saying love the teac 44 hell heavy deck

Hello CAN RECORDS I have a Tscam 34, please help me. 1- Why does VU only have signal at 1 and 2 when listening to music? VU 3 and 4 have no signal? 2- When I plug in the audio on the rear port, the audio in 1 & 2 or the audio output 1 & 2 have the sound in and out, but in put 3 & 4 and out put 3 & 4 there is no sound and only the buzzing sound out loudspeaker. Please guide me.
Hello, this is a good question and there are 1000 possible answers. Maybe it is to find easily, maybe not. We`ll try to find the right answer. All Cables are okay and well connected? Change and test them first to make sure. Do you use dbx-units? Sometimes they die first, try to use the machine without them. No Dbx or the same problem? Then first play the tape 2 minutes like you did and listen to the Music on track 1 and 2. Then change the wheels / reels (Change and turn it with the tape on it, now you should hear the same music backwards on channel 3 and 4) If this works, the problem is only in the recording path. If not, it can be everywhere. You bought the Machine in this condition or happend the problem from one day to another? If you bought it with this issue, maybe it wasn`t used for a long time, then some of the caps can be dead. Nothing unusual after this time. Also check all internal cables from Plug in and out up to the Heads, pull them off, use some contact-spray and put it back on, maybe you have good luck and this works. If all that helps nothing, i fear that you need to check the capacitors on the boards.
Oh, seh ich grade, ich hab 2 Hater, sind bestimmt Händler die sauer sind daß mal jemand sagt wie einfach und schnell das in Wahrheit geht, okidoki, nix für ungut, ihr findet sicher neue oder andere Einnahmequellen.
