- Arnold Schoenberg's (1874-1951) Serenade op. 24, performed in the garden of his home in Mödling near Vienna (2005). Performers: Ensemble Wiener Collage, René Staar (conductor).
the whole serenade is a masterpiece! it is hard to understand why people have trouble with scoenberg's music after hearing this great work. i love this work!
Beautifully interpereted
Such delightfully humorous music. Not the kind of stuff I listen to every day, but I'm the first to admit and comprehend Schoenberg's greatness.
Such a playfull piece. I love that even the birds wants to sing along :D
A very carefully composed music. And unlike most classical music there is a struggle to escape from structure by means of structure. The music is a raw expression of individual estrangement from structure itself. I like it.
Schönberg did this fantastically grooving music that may not be as 'modern' as some pieces by some of his contemporaries such as Webern or Ives but which is easy to listen and to groove along with - fantastic.
grooving is the most important thing for me!
Questa composizione è veramente particolare è strana, non avevo mai ascoltato nulla di questo tipo prima d'ora. È poco orecchiabile e ha un clima giocoso
Wow that mandolin can really cut through all those instruments
Thanks for posting this! The Op. 24 Serenade, along with the Op. 16 pieces are my favorite Schoenberg. Please post the other movements if you have access to them.
The audio hasn't been added afterwards. The microphone of the DV-camera is pretty good.
Nice
Lively, energetic, charming, rather like Schoenberg, himself.
I think this is not dodecaphonic. Only one movement in op. 24 (Sonnet) is.
...pensei que fosse um grupo de chorinho!
