I bought a Ping G 410 plus driver about 3 weeks ago. I am really loving it. And yes, those weight settings do work pretty well from my experience. I tend to curve right and by placing it in the draw setting it inhibits that happening quite a bit. I am staying in the fairway the majority of the time and with good power for me. Being a senior with a swing speed of maybe 80 mph I am still getting over 200 yards out of this which I am thrilled with. I bought mine in the 12 degree loft as quite often lower speed swingers need additional loft and since I can go up and additional 1.5 degrees of loft I like this. I am actually playing mine at the 13.5 loft at present with some pretty darn good results. This thing inspires confidence in my driver. This is a solid work of art from Ping. Not surprising. They do many things right! Spider Dubiel
Similar boat, got the 12 degree loft due to my swing speed, made bit of mistake putting on midsize golfpride align as this will be off when I change loft but easy to regrip, beautiful driver I agree 👍
I was really glad to see your golf balls lean right in the fade setting, I'm one who wants to look left, aim left, swing hard and then see it start left then fade back to he middle to right middle. A fade is all I want to see 80 percent of the time, there are time I have to play a draw/hook but only when I have to, good video post, thanks.
Common sense is how to describe this driver with the three settings ,simple to use and understand . This driver will suit a very high percentage of golfers. Very well explained review, thank you
Going to be a great driver. I think the Flat Shaft Setting is a huge win for better players. My guess is that either Flat Shaft with Neutral Weight or Regular Shaft with Fade Weight are the two winning setups for Neutral Fades and then Flat Shaft and Fade Weight if you want to completely rule out the left side of the fairway - which a lot of guys on tour will use.
Nice summary Mike, very interesting to see how you need a big weight moving quite a distance around back of the head to achieve actual “tuning” of ball flight!
Good video, like the explanation. great to see you hit little cut with more distance. I personally think that with those results you can really release without fearing the massive hook shot. I would change to that model, or break out the lead tape.
Great review Mike ! Fade setting would be great for me too, my miss is definitely left. Lining up that 16 gram weight with my strike would definitely give me a solid repeatable fade !
I would of liked if the weight was slider, giving more than 1 option... just saying, but it does look great club and you certainly hit it well Michael, but if Ping say its fractionally on the weight, then they must be right?
Hello Michael, What great review videos you make, I really enjoy the range and brands of clubs. I have two questions; What is gear effect? Does the the extreme cold or extreme heat affect the driver club heads? Thanks for all your information and comments.
Another nice video and test of the Ping G410 driver. From what I've read Ping is only making the 410 Plus and SFT drivers and will keep the 400 LST and MAX drivers as they couldn't beat their performance with the new driver. So if you're a higher swing speed/ spin rate you'd need to stay with the older LST model. Pretty honest assessment from Ping.
Michael Newton Golf what Jim is saying is true. They have until May to figure it out, but they are holding the release because they can’t beat the G400 just yet.
great video, might sound like a stupid question , but I've got golf pride mcc 4 align grips on my clubs if I adjust the loft on my g410 plus is the grip alignment going tio be off? know might sound silly but only just thought of it ! many thanks and keep up the good work, stay safe , Jon
@@MichaelNewtonGolf thanks for the reply, yep should have thought of it before putting grip on 😂, sure, I can just regrip with a different midsize grip 👍🏌🏼♀️
Great video. I currently use a taylormade m4. Great for distance but slightly off centre hits give you a hook you don’t want. The G410 LST sounds ideal with the weight fade bias. My ball speed is 150 and I play off 7, what shaft would you recommend ? Currently I enjoy the Hzrds Yello. Average carry 260 yards
based on the video I understand that all 3 flat setting are 3 degrees flat, +1 increases loft 1 degree, 0 leaves loft as designed, -1 reduces loft 1 degree.....can you please confirm..... i tend to go from left to right banana slice most of the time but i have improved with Ping 410, which shaft position or flat position i should use to be more straight from right to left please-any advice
Why can't reviewers test the moveable weight in a blind test? Knowing the weight has moved will make the golfer accommodate the setting...it's human nature. Try blind .. Thanks anyway.
@@MichaelNewtonGolf we did something similar at the driving range a few months back with a Mizuno , the one with the track. 3 of us, all mid handicap, when we knew where the weight was, we all 'helped' the bias. When we went blind the results were very different and only one of us actually hit the ball where the bias said. Not an exact scientific experiment, but there was definitely a difference between knowing and blind.
Your reviews are to the point and concise enough to glean as much technical information as anyone should ever need. Best reviewer on RUclips.

I have a natural fade so neutral seems to be working for me but gonna try the draw setting

Totally agree!
Ping always make good honest clubs. Never get fed up watching your golf swing, effortless power.
Very helpful. Thank you

Looks like a great club being a Ping it does what it says on the tin👍

I have the g400 max and my miss is too much draw...looks like I need the 410 and the adjustable weight in the fade slot as well!
Excellent
so how would it do to put it in flat? i havent seen anyone do that yet. as usual a great review!
Would have liked to see 2 weights ie 8g in draw and fade to see spin...
I would of liked if the weight was slider, giving more than 1 option... just saying, but it does look great club and you certainly hit it well Michael, but if Ping say its fractionally on the weight, then they must be right?

Jim Rohnstock not sure about the Max but there definitely IS a G410 LST model coming but not till approx May time

I wonder how the fights would be if it was under the flat setting

Jon Wright yes it will miss align the grip! That’s the only downside to the align grips

Michael, whats your take on the best driver for 2019 ? Im in the G400max now and curious on the new clubs

Hi Peter, you’ve got some decent speed & sounds like the left shot if your weakness. Try the Ping Tour Shaft or ProjectX as firmer.
based on the video I understand that all 3 flat setting are 3 degrees flat, +1 increases loft 1 degree, 0 leaves loft as designed, -1 reduces loft 1 degree.....can you please confirm.....
i tend to go from left to right banana slice most of the time but i have improved with Ping 410, which shaft position or flat position i should use to be more straight from right to left please-any advice
Flatter lie helps to reduce the left shot, not the right. If your suffering from the rights then the standard setting would probably help you more.
So if I slice or fade alot , where should I place the weight?
The opposite.. if you fade too much then put it in the draw setting etc. and the club will help the ball stay a bit more left.
How tight should the moveable weight be?
Once the wrench clicks
317..... not 311
Why can't reviewers test the moveable weight in a blind test? Knowing the weight has moved will make the golfer accommodate the setting...it's human nature. Try blind .. Thanks anyway.
Good shout, could be interesting if the golfer can feel the weight change and if it changes ball flight. 👍
