@@kraken6183it’s a good idea to visit the American south, especially with how negative the connotation can be about the south. Come on down and eat some good food, meet some cool people :)
Very true. As an Oklahoman currently attending college in Iowa, even that small of a distance absolutely decimates southern food. Bbq, fried chicken. We got a Popeyes up here but it ain’t the same, that shits so much better down south. And the bbq? Don’t even get me started
Texas only is associated with the south because we sided with the rebels during the Civil War. But don't get confused, Texas is in a league all our own. From a 13th generation Texan, you other southern states wish you could compare
“That can’t be that good” haha I’m glad y’all enjoyed your first Texas bbq experience
My mouth is watering. I wasn't hungry but now I am.
I've lived in Texas since 1998 and great BBQ like that can't be beat.
Love watching you Brits in awe over American food 😅
Return the favour and try some of our food mate lol
As a New Englander, can confirm that genuine Texas BBQ is spectacular. It really is that good. Anyone in MA or NH know of a place that replicates this? I haven't found one yet.
British food is so good! I don’t get why it has such a bad rap. If anyone wants to try it in the US remember it’s simple food so the quality of the ingredients matters a lot. Use fresh, grass fed etc. to get the closest experience to in country.
There’s more seasoning on that one rib then they’d eat in a year in Britain 😂😂
Nah mate. We have the finest Indian restaurants. 😅😅😅
Rubbish. Most English ppl

@@YourEveryPicture7our hot sauce and Tex-Mex cuisine would beg to differ.
But the US is a large country with states as large as GB. So there will be a lot of variance.
I would have to disagree
Gordon Ramsey was absolutely floored by the taste of this Texas BBQ. And of course he loved the portions! I'd say this is one thing that is WORTH driving hours and hours to taste!
Where is this place? I want to save it on my go to places for when I visit the south! 🙌🏼
Please share the name and city. Please!
Terry Black's. Multiple locations in Texas.
@@psychedelicmess420This particular location the Jolly boys are at is in Austin, Tx, but they also have one in Dallas,Tx and the original "Black's BBQ" is in Lockhart, Tx, which is also near Austin. Can you send that Texas bbq to alabama cause what they are serving here is a joke.
@@1eyedwilli3 lol! Sorry. I wish i could.
@@1eyedwilli3 Hey man, if they ain't doin' it right down there in Bama sometimes you gotta do it yourself! I saw some fella down there in Texas has brought in (what I now know as) a North Carolinian tradition of barbecuing a whole hog on a huge grill and he's making big waves, finding much success cause he's doing it right. If they're slackin down there and you got the drive for it, you could probably make a killing doing BBQ right!
I remember my first bbq food - straight up life changing
I sometimes wonder if I am the only person not in love with American BBQ… and especially briskets I think are just ok…
Of course its tasty, dont get me wrong but no idea why it gets this amount of incredible love…
@@bingobongo1615Man, don't sweat it. Its just you, not anything to fret. Some folks like sunshine happy, and some like depressing and gloomy. You be you, and be proud that you like...whatever it is you like.

As a Texan, happy to have yall.
Love that after all the food and Michelin star restaurants y’all have eaten at…you give Texas barbecue the “best meal I’ve ever had” award! 👍🏻❤️ WE’VE always known it’s the best…but getting y’all’s international take is a great compliment! So glad y’all made it here!! Doors always open for return trips! 🤠🥰❤️
My sister visited a friend in Texas, (We live in London). She also had Wagyu beef in Japan, having lived there for a couple of years . She said, hands down, the best beef she's ever had in her life was in Texas. She still talks about it to this day.😂
I’m biased as a Texan but I do believe that we have some of the best bbq. That doesn’t mean that you can’t find amazing bbq in other states.
@@Richiedagger87 You’re right. There’s good food, including bbq, in a lot of places. I just think OURS is the BEST! (I might be biased, too!🤷♀️😂) BUT…like I said, I’ve watched them eat their way across the globe. THEY said it was “ the best”! 😃👍🏻 Have you watched them at the Houston rodeo? 👍🏻😂

One of the few things that's consistent in Texas, good BBQ, and not the weather 🤣
Everyone has always been too afraid to make fun of texans to their faces lol

Just left Texas for Colorado. Love everything about CO but Texas BBQ will always have a warm place in my heart. Best on Earth. Wish we could get a real version of it around here
Sounds like a great business idea. You should open a place.

As soon as y'all said y'all were getting Texas barbecue. I knew you were going to have a delightful time. Here's a tip if you're looking for good barbecue. You have to get local places. And you have to be able to smell it from outside.
This puts a smile on anyone's face that takes pride in their BBQ. I've had people argue about taking leftovers home after a cookout. My older brother was acting like he made the ribs and was guarding them like junkyard dog. He was trying to tell people how many ribs they could have to make sure he had at least a half rack and my younger brother said claim something else and were fighting lol.
