What is show its the monster use the memories, even the phanton of Himmel would not put Frieren in danger according to her memories, thats why it said "shoot me"
the Einsam monster uses memories agsinst its pray... however... frierens perception of Himmel is in such high regards, that even the phantom created from Frierens memory would never harm anyone, therefore the phantom sees itself as the threat,,, Himmel is simply that good of a guy
I wish enemies like this were more common in fiction as a way to physically manifest people's opinions like another really good similiar enemy is in the show delicious in dungeon (or soemthing like that) but basically as spoiler free as I can thry encounter a creature that creates a copy of every party member for everybody's opinions so basically a part of 5 turns into 25 people and they basically have to play a game of spot the spy as all the clones do their best with what they got
One of the greatest lessons for all people out there in this episode. The age old saying, bravery is not a lack of fear, it is acting even when faced with immense fear.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts - I love your take and empathy for Stark. The first half was emotional with the Heiter/Himmel ghosts, the second half was pure comedy. The face Fern makes from her near death experience and her horror at the thought of needing to play more tag with the dragon lives rentfree in my head
Oh yea, some people might have mentioned, but all the names and words of the characters are German. Frieren for example means freezing, fern means far, Himmel means Sky, Heiter means light hearted or bright. And Eisen means iron. :D (if you want to know anymore ask haha)
I guess Frieren has killed fake Senseis many time before, and this was the first time Himmel appeared and it meant that her most precious one had been changed from Sensei to Himmel. That is why she said "Seems like I have been changed a bit" (I don't know what exactly English translation was 'cause I was listening to Japanese track).
What I like about this episode is .. Frieren sometimes is such a troll... 😂 Just look at her hiding behind a tree with her hand.. and saying RUN.... made me laugh.😂🤣
I think it took a lot of guts just to walk up to the dragon in the first place. And even more to stay in the village, while fearing you'll either be revealed a fraud or be eaten by a friggin dragon.
In the last episode (ep4 i think), freirens master Flamme told her she had found "heaven on earth" and youll be able to talk with the deceased if you go there BUT it is just north of the Demon Kings castle. So shes basically making her way back there with fern and it took them 10yrs last time BUT they did get sidetracked often.
I think the monster must have been very embarrassed. All this time, all the phantom must have been saying “save me”, but only Himmel's phantom was saying “shoot me”.
She may also have done that on purpose to reveal the Einsam to Fern, because Fern was having trouble shooting the Heiter phantom. This way, Fern had something other than Heiter to shoot at.
Regarding the comment at the start about Heiter and Eisen (and Flamme) putting so much effort into getting Frieren to see Himmel: one of the things I really like about the character dynamic in the show is that the original party just accept Frieren for being who she is. Her social blunders and sense of coldness aren't made out of malice but are just the result of her being her, and they feel no need to try to "fix" her. However, I think unlike Himmel, who wasn't going to push his own feelings on her, Eisen and Heiter seem to understand that she might need a bit of help if she's going to understand her own feelings on anything other than a geological timescale (that is to say, while the past is still close enough for her to do something about it). Where Flamme made sure the information would be available to Frieren when that time came, the others are giving her the nudge to action that while they're still evidence of them in the world... if that makes sense. . On a slightly related note, I love how every time something tries to use Himmel against Frieren it backfires because it turns out he was just too stand-up of a bloke for even his memory to be used that way.
Stark is a very complex character and his story will rip you apart. This is revealed over the next 10 episodes all in pieces here and there. But when you finally put all the narrative pieces together and look at the character again, he changes significantly which is a master stroke of story telling. As you know, backstory is not what we are usually used to here. If you are familiar with the great novel, "Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" by Haruki Murakami you will see some similarities. In hard-boiled, Murakami runs two entirely separate stories together with each chapter alternating on a different level and world entirely separate from each other. What happens in my literary tastes at the end, is a masterpiece. Our author, Kanehito Yamada, uses a similar story technique. On one level is the linear story of Frieren, Fern, and Stark. But entirely told in backstory, is a non-linear story of the past 1000 years especially concentrating on the 10 year Himmel Heroes quest that took place 80 years ago. Backstory is a well used writer's convention but I have never seen it used like this before. Our author is telling two different stories in parallel much like Murakami. Depending on how Mr. Kanehito Yamada, ends his story (it is still on-going), will determine if we are involved here in a masterpiece or simply a very good and well told story.
Frieren regretted not getting to know those close to her better, especially Himmel and her crying at his funeral, was all the confirmation they needed. So they helped a friend in need, living with such a regret would be rough. Stark is funny!
Ha coward? Dude stepped in front of an attacking Dragon then stayed in the village to protect it even though he doesn't think he can win. Courage is not the lack of fear but the acceptance and use of your fear. Not having fear is just foolishness and robs you of some of your most powerful advantages.
I mean in a world full of magic and beatiful things. Living your life on a small town would be boring. So I think most people would take the chance to travel with the most powerful mage that defeated the Demon King .
All your questions will be answered. This show is one of the best writen shows I've ever watched. Not animes! Shows! And here Mr. Critical bast*rd is speaking.
For a show that doesn't really have a lot of exciting and fast paced fights, it moves along quickly, doesn't it? Stark is great here and Fern's reaction to him was hilarious. To be continued.... Some people said why Frieren was hearing Flamme beg for her life but I don't really buy their reason for that... Need to find some sort of confirmation....
I can't disagree more. Himmel knew exactly what he signed up for, especially by the time they met Old Man Voll. Frieren on the other hand is only now, 80 years after they travelled together, beginning to understand.
What is show its the monster use the memories, even the phanton of Himmel would not put Frieren in danger according to her memories, thats why it said "shoot me"
Cause Himmel is HIM
Himmel is HIM
the Einsam monster uses memories agsinst its pray... however... frierens perception of Himmel is in such high regards, that even the phantom created from Frierens memory would never harm anyone, therefore the phantom sees itself as the threat,,, Himmel is simply that good of a guy

Himmel is such a chad that even his phantom can make illusions useless
"WE'RE DONE?!"
Yeahhh, it do be like that lmao
"and you alright 🎶🎶"
Frieren has her master's earrings and her necklace sits on her staff

"were done!?" LOL thats the reaction I had to every episode ending. Can't wait for the next reaction
Yeah, you're going to love Stark. Can't wait to see your reaction to the next several episodes.
8:38 What do you mean ,girl ??? Because its Himmel ! Himmel , the Hero !
Even bro's illusion is kind and helpful .
Oh yea, some people might have mentioned, but all the names and words of the characters are German. Frieren for example means freezing, fern means far, Himmel means Sky, Heiter means light hearted or bright. And Eisen means iron. :D (if you want to know anymore ask haha)
Also Stark means strong :D
That look Fern gave to Stark after he revealed being a fake always sends me. She looks utterly disgusted.
I guess Frieren has killed fake Senseis many time before, and this was the first time Himmel appeared and it meant that her most precious one had been changed from Sensei to Himmel. "It was just a mere 10 year journey"
"But that mere 10 year journey changed you"
So excited for next episode. Stark is just an amazing character.
I love the journey we're on. I can't wait to see her every reaction to this series.
I think it took a lot of guts just to walk up to the dragon in the first place. And even more to stay in the village, while fearing you'll either be revealed a fraud or be eaten by a friggin dragon.
You're correct sir. Thing is Stark doesn't know his true self yet. It is fun watching him grow
Himmel and Bakugo From My hero academia Shares the same Voice actor in japanese

Brave? No
Courageous? Yes
Bravery is having no fear, Courage is having Fear but also having the Strength to overcome it.
15:45 yeppers! How can such a relaxed storytelling go so fast? One of Freiren's major accomplishments. 😊
I think the monster must have been very embarrassed.
All this time, all the phantom must have been saying “save me”, but only Himmel's phantom was saying “shoot me”.
Stark have such a cool design
Frieren was very pissed off given how much she charged her spell and what damage she inflicted.
She may also have done that on purpose to reveal the Einsam to Fern, because Fern was having trouble shooting the Heiter phantom. This way, Fern had something other than Heiter to shoot at.

Himmel is HIM.❤❤❤
We're getting closer to the Aura Arc. Everyone buckle up.
Finally you get to meet Stark. Just like with all other characters, he is uniquely great and interesting. My personal favorite character.
Love your reactions!!
"Stark, okay" hahahah ❤❤❤ such a maginificent reaction!!!!
Himmel is so pure even his phantom cant deceive Frieren.
"We're done?!!" 😂😂 literally Frieren audiences most of the episodes
Fern and Stark are the real stars of this show tbqh.
I love how Eisen's VA is Ōetsu's from Bleach, such a contrast in characters.
First time ive watch this episode i though fern is flying away like a witch xD
Stark with the Saitama-Face 13:37 xD
Wait till you see Stark distraction of the Dragon for 30 seconds. Its a amazing battle

As a German, the series is somehow funny because the names of all the characters are simply German words 😂
Also the towns and even the monsters.
I like your intelligence and patience💯
I was Waiting for it❤
Thank you for sharing Flexie.
Stark is like Zenitzu with Todoroki's face. (or Zuko's face if you prefer that.)
I'm looking forward to your next episode reaction.
I like to think Frieren overkilled the illusion cause the monster pissed her off using Himmel
Wow new frieren video lets goo
I mean in a world full of magic and beatiful things. Living your life on a small town would be boring. So I think most people would take the chance to travel with the most powerful mage that defeated the Demon King .
einsam: "lonely", in German
Oh I finally get why she was used to hearing her master beg for her life lol
It is very indirectly explained in upcoming episodes. I think most people never figure it out.
lets see... sobbing or nah? id say we will be close xD
Best character
Stark 🫶🏼😊

Speaking of new group dynamics, what did you think of the look Fern was giving Stark when she saw him sobbing and sniveling at Frieren’s feet? ^_^
Frieren overkill the phantom of Himmel, small hint on how she’s been affected for it
Stark is Zenichi done right.

En que capitulo va en patreon?
Left field but have you watched arcane yet?
So the dragon fled because it was scared of Stark right? That is what I have always thought.
Honwatly, I think Heiter and Eisen did this more for Himmel than Frieren
I can't disagree more. Himmel knew exactly what he signed up for, especially by the time they met Old Man Voll. Frieren on the other hand is only now, 80 years after they travelled together, beginning to understand.
please react to the lyrics of the opening
:)
日本語で失礼します 是非、化物語、COWBOY BEBOP、サムライチャンプルー、オネアミスの翼を見てみてほしいですね
Hello! I’m watching Cowboy Bebop on Patreon! But thank you for your other recommendations 😄💓
and again a name, which is a german word... einsam means lonley
and stark is strong
Stark is just Zenitsu with a better writer
People who really enjoy the work remember the names of the characters accurately.
You're pronouncing it wrong
