- Imagine skydiving…blind! 🧑🦯 This week I asked Paul to face one of his biggest fears: Skydiving! 🪂 After his initial panic (sorry Paul!) I revealed that he would be indoor skydiving. He was much more receptive to that idea. Join us as Paul experiences indoor skydiving without sight. 👁️ Was it scary, or did he feel “free as a bird”? I laughed harder at Mr. Maple's reactions than I did Paul. That poor doggo's anxiety just got higher the longer it went on 😂
Maple's face was like OMG what is going on, what is he doing. Freaking out. Aahh yep alot of displacement with the lead, trying to hild in his excitement that Papa is ok. Imagine if his harness was off ... there wouldve been an explosion of excitement 😂❤❤
Poor Mr. Maple was so worried for his Papa. Totally confused too. It was amazing to see how accommodating they were for you, Paul.

This is the only form of skydiving I can support. Paul is too precious to be plunging from 10,000 feet.
It's fun seeing all the ways Matthew is helping Paul feel free. Mr. Maple's tail wagging when Paul was safe and back on the ground was the cutest.

I was also confused about how they would make indoor skydiving accessible, and although it has its limitations I'm so glad there's a way for blind people to enjoy it. Congrats, Paul, for going out of your comfort zone :) You're a great inspiration ❤
After Pauls intial heart attack... he really enjoyed himself. Thats what i love about this couple. Matthew is so supportive and Paul is so positive❤❤

This is one of the times where you, Matthew, take Paul out of his comfort zone and provide him with new learning experiences and adventures. Paul, I’m curious if at any time you felt any sense of freedom while ‘flying’ but safe at the same time with Chris supporting and guiding you. I’m so proud of you, Paul! And Kudos, Matthew! I was just reading a book where a character is experimenting with gravity switching magical powers and I felt like he was constantly on the verge of breaking his neck, so my inner monolougue was "somebody get this kid a responsible adult immediately!" and then I saw Paul doing something similar in the real world and nearly had a heart attack. Especially because he is a responsible adult.

The staff seemed so patience and even the other goers were cheering Paul on.

I love that Matthew makes Paul try new things! Even if he doesn't love them, its awesome he boost him up instead of holding him back and helps gentle push him out of his comfort zone! I do feel that they were very accommodating which was awesome as well!
No, you didn't! I tried going skydiving so many times. Everytime ive gone, Zeus decided to throw a fit, so my jump was canceled. After 4 attempts, I assumed it was a sign for me not to jump out of a plane. 😅 I hope you had a lovely experience!

That was fun just watching! You have to get back in there. Take Maple in with you next time, And your next children’s book called. “Flying Paul and his dog Maple”. Kids would enjoy just the video as a book with your verbal narration. You have to go back…discount any negatives about it.

Skydive Snohomish has wonderful staff. Most of us were terrified and we would do it again, 100%.

When my father had his last night of life, my dog was 1h20 minutes away from me and cried, moaned all night long. He was very agitated. Never did that before, never did it after. 🤷🏻♀️
It was interesting to see the concentration on Paul's face while he was processing all the new sensations. Then you could see he was much more comfortable the second time and relaxed enough to play some games the last time. I think they should go again!

I found that I became quite emotional watching you Paul. My daughter is almost totally blind & physically disabled also. We have always had this mantra that whatever we do we will always try to find a way that keeps her & those with her safe. We learned that she was I spring other families to try things out after she had done them & proved they could do it also. I know she will love this video & she would love to try it but as her airway & chest are already compromised, this is one activity she won’t be able to do. But watching you Paul, you looked so… free. It reminded me of the video of you on holiday running along the beach without any help at all. Doing these activities, I believe you will be inspiring other people around the world to step out of their comfort zone & giving new opportunities a try. And you are also an inspiration Matthew. And I think everyone wants to cuddle Mr Maple & play with him. Who wouldn’t? But never during his work. I wish I could afford to join your membership & watch the extended videos, but I still enjoy watching all your content. Take care & have fun.

What an amazing experience, it is one of my bucket list experiences to try… but have to lose the fear of heights first.
I would almost think Mr Maple was trained as another type of service dog with the way he was grabbing his leash like he was alerting to something. But you could see the worry in his beautiful eyes as he watched his Papa fly and his pure relief when Paul was out of the flight suit and back in his reach.
Maple looks terrified. He is like “They did not teach me this at dog guide school!!”

Your Maple was NOT HAPPY…He was so worried for PaPa!!! Maybe taking the harness off just while you were in the fly room so he didn’t stress as much. Then he might of known you were just playing and he didn’t have to “work”. Since you were behind the glass, he may have also stressed that you “left him” seeing everyone dressed the same. Don’t know but he was definitely sad.
That would be so dope to do!!! I’ve always wanted to do that too!! I have a genetic illness that involves many systems of my body and won’t allow for it. But I really had fun watching you!! Wish I knew what you didn’t like?? Were you dizzy? Motion sick?
Nauseated? It would feel isolating to me I think if I couldn’t see or hear my environment?? Maybe you took it as being free running on the beach or a field. If you really did feel good doing it, go up and do a summersaults for me one time. Please, and thank you!

My anxiety level was off the charts when you mentioned skydiving, Matthew! Paul, im so glad you enjoyed it but I was still apprehensive! ❤
You have great balance. Go Skydiving. I have never been in a wind tunnel, but it's much harder than the real thing. Go do a tandem. I have done many many 100's of jumps and it never gets boring.
This is going to be so much fun, I just know it.

First of all go Paul, I love that you are down for anything! Second, I REALLY wish that you filmed the conversation where you were explaining to the staff how your blind husband was going to do it! I love that the guy (with the laughing support of Matthew) was explaining what could happen if the shoe wasn't tight!! And then he went on to the breathing issues, this guy is freaking Paul out!! MATTHEW is he going to skydive or do ballet? :) Poor mister Maple did not know what to do with himself-he was thinking my god what are you doing to my human!! I am seriously looking forward to the Matthew payback video- I hope its very scary :) I will say I am incredibly impressed by the guide who was amazing!!

I’ve done both. You don’t feel the recoil like you’d think. Both are an awesome experience. I’m also deathly afraid of heights! Scared the crap out of me and I’d do it again.

I totally agree with hard pass on bungee jumping! The chord wrapping around my neck is a total fear. Skydiving sounds cool, though, but pretty exhilarating!
