The trick to scamming people is actually 2 things. One, don't give a person time to fully process everything. Two, keep them in an emotional state, people are dumb when their emotions are envolved.

Thanks! I'm in my 70's and first got scammed in the 80's by AOL scammer. I ended up becoming an IT Admin at a major DOE laboratory. I will say this, a good scammer is like a snowball down a mountain and you can easily get caught up in their spew. The best thing to do is 1) NEVER reply to their email. If, say its from Norton and you have a Norton account, then log out of your email and go directly to your Norton account. If it was them you will see email in that account. If there is nothing on their website, then you know it was a scammer. The old bromide "If its too good to be true it probably is not true," is wise counsel.

@@ankieezsays7786 Do you think your authorities are paying attention to these scammer call centers? Is there ever any news of scammer boiler room operations being busted, closed down, and the top organizers going to jail? America may seem rich to a person from Pakistan or India, and there is some truth to that, but many people in the US are barely getting by, living from check to check, with little or no healthcare, just a few steps above being homeless, and a loss of thousands of dollars to scammers can literally wipe out their life savings and kill them.

A couple yrs ago I got scammed out of 500 .00 dollars from a company that supposedly dealt with a bank that my grown son use to have and he had me as an authorized user . The scammers ( as I know of them now) threatened to send officers with a warrant out for my arrest. And being a new active duty military family, it scared me. Because of those assholes my child didn't really get much for Christmas or anything , then found out by that bank that it wasn't them and they wouldn't have done that. It's heartbreaking and sad that scammers get away with this.
I can't donate but I work for a company that sells giftcards and if I see someone especially am elderly person buying cards. I do question them and explain different scam styles thanks to you. I've even refused to sell cards to people. Yall do awesome stuff!! Bless yall♡
Kudos to you! Every little bit helps. I just try to keep them on the phone as long as possible with the idea that "as long as they're spending time trying to scam me, they're not taking time trying to scam someone else!"
I think every checkout person that sells Gift Cards like at Wallmart, etc needs to be trained on watching out for people asking for very high paying Gift Cards and help them to stop paying these horrid scammers. It won't stop everyone, but it may stop most, we hope.
@@abikt1782 sadly at most places they actually DO training on this. I know Walmart, CVS an Lowe's all do. But if employee doesn't care then they just sell the gift card. Sadly it's a personal choice to put forth the effort and concern to ask and explain and too many people just don't care.
So touching that you were able to give this poor woman her scammed money back. Not the type of thing I see on YT, usually just on TV and usually milking the emotion for advertisers. Wish I had money to send you. You're the best!
Easy tip: Aside from all the other red flags that more vulnerable ppl likely aren't savvy with, the biggest, easiest red flag to notice is the moment when you are told to lie about who the gift cards are for... that should stop you dead in your tracks. No legit business anywhere, at any time, for any reason, will ever ask you to lie, let alone take gift cards as a form of payment. If you only remember that and nothing else, you will safer for it.
Bottom line don't agree to remote access. I don't know about Windows 10 but I think you can disable that feature to prevent t hackers from getting access.
Yeah, ask yourself questions like, "Would a multi million dollar company ask for or even accept gift cards as a form of payment?" "Would a company need you to access your bank account to give you a refund?" "Would a company need to access your desktop to give you a refund to an account that they already charged?" - I work for a grocery store, and we can issue refunds to the form of original payment, and we don't need access to the customer's computer to do so. Don't be naive, people. Don't get scammed.
@@toddsalmon6541 Not only that, but as someone already mentioned, Why do they need remote access at all? If my friends can send me money with just my name, sort code and account no, then a multinational multibillion dollar company can too. If they are apparently taking money off you in a direct debit, they can refund it straight back electronically. Anything else is absolutely 100% bullshit.

Yep, exactly correct.
Bottom line don't agree to remote access. I don't know about Windows 10 but I think you can disable that feature to prevent t hackers from getting access.
@@briang.7206 yes I work for Amazon and to assist we DO NOT ask for desktop access
That is something I wish I had learned in my youth.. Carry on!
Thank you for your service. 🙏
@@tomsmall1244 I appreciate that Tom.. thank you very much..
Thank you for your service. God bless you.
Following up with this victim was by far the best thing I've ever seen on these scam videos. The relief she felt when she got you to do Bertha's voice was palpable. Kudos to you for doing the follow-up and the Force team.
Who cut up all these onions in here! Thank you for all you do! A modern day hero!
She's so brave for sharing her story ❤️
Never heard of this channel before but just happened to click on it. Absolutely brilliant. Well done to all those kind people who donated towards paying back the scammed money to this lady. 👏👏👏😘
Amazing work. Its not even just about the money. The feeling of being scammed, deceived and made a victim is as bad as any financial loss. Keep fighting the fight, and helping to educate. Bravo.
Pierogi, you are awesome!!!! Thank you for your kindness to that lady who was scammed.
Man this one got me crying. You and your team is AWESOME!! When I was 18 I got hit by a scam and I have been so sceptical of ANYONE and EVERYTHING since. I have had The actual department of Homeland security call me one time, and I treated them like they were scammers because I can't trust anybody on the phone anymore. They ended up coming to my door lol
Someone scammed me too recently , I hired him to do some work- he completes half and the runs off- out over $2509 usd. I still can’t believe I was scammed, I’m usually good at red flags.
When I saw Pierogi shed tears, I see how passionate and sympathetic he and his team are about these victims, and I thank all of you for helping them. I hate that lady got became a victim, but I'm glad yall made it right. With people like yall (including donators and behind the scenes); it shows that there are good people out there.
Well put and nicely said!
@@susangraham6801 Thank you. It's truth, though. This world is in need of more people like the caring team he has. It's pathetic; the ways people are trying to take advantage of vulnerable people, just for money.
@@TruGhost. Ridiculous if you ask me! I can't even begin to wrap my head around such constant deceit....for a living! It blows my mind!
It got to me as well.
With all of the shitty, terrible things going on in the world today this video had a real impact on me. It's so refreshing and encouraging to see some light in all of this darkness. Subscribed, and all my respect for what you do.
Brother, the fact you show you feeling to us and can cry, tells us the kind of man you are and you are loved. i joined you mate. in the tears. G'day from Australia.
My aunt got scammed (a different kind of scam) and she killed herself, so hearing her cry like this brought me to tears and reminded me what she probably went through.
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that, I thought with the different kind of scam part was because these Indian scammers
Poipole, it's not just from India though it does seems to predominate. I've even gotten calls from the Philippines, and Mexico and South America.
You can tell that he actually feels for these people because he can hear how he’s about to completely break down and cry after hearing how much this lady lost and he has such an admiration and respect for his community that feels the same way he does about scammers now I can see why he gets so mad
The sweetest lady. "I hope you don't sleep good at night." Just hearing her say that was so sweet. She didn't say she wished harm or death on them and that shows how precious this woman is.
I'm glad you and the force were able to help her and her family! And I'm glad for all that you do, man.
I legitimately had tears on that second call. God bless you
I recently came across your RUclips channel and what you do for these victims is truly incredible.

I must have had those same onions around, whew. I'm so happy that even after someone got scammed, this community was able to help. There's so much more good than evil out there
As an IT guy whom encounters spam incidents like this quite often with my customers... and even once myself fell victim, I'm partial to those getting taking advantage of and found myself fighting back tears. My entire family is about serving the community and helping those in need. I was already a big fan of your channel but, with this assistance you provided to this young lady, I'm now a FAN FOR LIFE. You've been regulated to HERO STATUS with me! Due to an near-fatal injury that occurred two years ago, my finances were destroyed. However, as soon as I become financially stable again, I will become a contributing member to your channel. Thank you and your team for all that you do! It's heart-warming to see you step up to the plate. I will be behind you here in the near future. Your friend in Virginia, Paul
Oh my god, I am just tearing up because this is the first time I’m seeing this video. It truly breaks my heart to see victims that get scammed. And the fact that pierogi is super nice and super wonderful and generous, and the fact that he gave that victim her $2500 back to her, it’s just unreal. Pierogi if you see this message, let me know if you did, but if you see this message, I honor the work and support the work that you guys do for people like us. You are truly heroes of the world.
Thank you Tabitha for sharing your story! And love the beautiful hearts of Scammer Payback. So glad to be a part of this loving community
Keep spreading the awareness!!
Only just caught up on this video. I'm a 40 year old guy crying at 1am over someone I'll never know or meet. You do amazing work my dude, you and your community are something quite special.
the world needs more people like you
