What size in tons press do you use? Is 6 tons enough and stamp and do this?
Is there a way to use the press to stamp instead of hammer?
Good question! I actually ended up doing that when I made another batch. It took a little bit longer, but a lot less issues with the impression. Sometimes when you hammer you get what’s called “double stamping or Ghosting.” With the press, it’s really easy to avoid that.
Where do you buy you silver sheets, And Dies?
Riogrande sells nice quality sheets in all types of metals. The dies can be found anywhere from Amazon to Harbor freight if you have one around you.
What did it cost you for all the equipment?
Hard to say because I bought everything slowly, but all of my tools were bought at Harbor Freight for a relatively cheap. The silver was bought from RioGrande. I'm guessing to make what i did in this video, I paid over 400 bucks, which includes the stamps as well.
How'd you make or buy the stamp?
I made the stamp. I made the designs and sent it to a company that makes stamps.
@@poured_Silverwhat's the company called?
how thick is the sheet of silver?
20 gauge
Is the sheet metal the silver?
Yes, it’s .999 Fine Silver Sheet.
What the metal do You use for coins?
Fine Silver is what I used, but you can use any metal.
Can you make 50 P UK coins at home?
Yeah for sure. As long as I can the correct size stamp I can do it. They’d be blank one one side just like these.
@@poured_Silver Where can you get the 50 p coin stamp
@@poured_Silver i want your number
where did you get the cutting dies from?
eBay, Amazon or Etsy. All those should have them.
