I love when people are real. Every project doesn’t work out perfect every time. Thank You for sharing 😉

Thank you so much Kathy. I do like to share my successes and fails with my audience as it helps the viewer to realise that not every project works perfectly every time.

Haha, thank you. That was a long time ago. The thumb healed very quickly and I'm much more wary of glue these days. Did you watch the other brooch tutorial? I did a much better job wrangling the glue in that one. ruclips.net/video/zOkB05dg3fc/видео.htmlsi=sg2lZIH0pnh7fXdm

I've never made a broach, and haven't worn one in 40+ years. Truth be told, the last group of people I knew of who wore broaches were the ladies on Downton Abby! But I enjoyed the tutorial, and I enjoyed your honesty! This was a fun video because of that. Glad you're all healed up. 🙂

Thank you Deborah. Yes, I healed quickly. It was such a funny situation (once I stopped hurting). I used to feel the same way about brooches (they were for old ladies) but they are very "on trend" for 2023 as I said in my Jewellery Trends for 2023 video. I think we are wearing them a little differently now than we used to - a whole pile on a denim jacket looks amazing. I now wear them all the time and love them. I am working on a new tutorial for another brooch but am just waiting on some supplies that are out of stock to get it finished. Watch this space. In the meantime, here's the trends video - ruclips.net/video/NkfZOygUENA/видео.html

Ouch, sorry that happened, my piece of advice my hubby taught me when using super glue always have nail polish remover beside you, cap off ready to use just in case you get stuck, it does work. The piece is beautiful,. Heal up and a lesson learned, sadly the hard way. Kirsten Durdle Ont.Canada 💚💚

Thank you for your advice Kirsten. I don't intend to ever touch the stuff again but if I do, I'll be sure to keep some nail polish remover handy. The problem was that my thumb was a bit raw so when I finally did try the remover, and then acetone, it just stung like crazy. It's almost healed now.

Carol, it's beautiful. I've never made a brooch, but I'm going to now. Thanks for sharing your talent, time and energy. Sorry about your thumb. Forwarned is forearmed.

Thank you so much Pamela. I learned my lesson with this one. You'll notice in the sunflower brooch I had a cloth ready and was much more careful. Also, I used E6000 which is much thicker than super glue. If you haven't watched it, here's a link to that one. ruclips.net/video/zOkB05dg3fc/видео.htmlsi=JOJG4KnIQ65Zk2AT

Ive made brooches but tend to use the ones like a bar with loops on them. Plenty of space to stich along on & loops to dangle some chain, hilight beads & charms etc etc

Hi Louise, someone actually gave it the mat to me. Mine is now ruined thanks to the glue! It is a Waffle Flower Water Media Mat. You can buy a similar (but smaller) one here. waffleflower.com/products/water-media-mat

Are you sure your mat is ruined? Did you try using nail polish remover on it?

I gave it a good clean and I'm still using it. You can see in later videos that it's got some marks on it but I've decided that it's not bad enough to ditch it completely. I cleaned it with acetone which is the main ingredient of some nail polishes.
