Hiiiiiiii! So I know this is the second thrift haul almost in a row, I didn't mean for that to happen at all, the timing kinda just got wonky, BUT I will have some more exciting, original content next week :) (I'm also taking a break from hauls/buying new clothes for a bit besides a Collectif haul I'll be doing in a few weeks 😂)
I've loved both hauls, all your hauls really. We have such similar ideas I love seeing your finds and ways you put yours together for a vintage look. I get bored my ideas lol much love
"He is shaking his antenna at me. What does this mean in wasp culture? Does he want to duel me? Sir, I am unfamiliar with your customs." I am crying. 😂😂😂
Thank you for encouraging not only thriftiness and being environmentally aware, but also the concept of styling things somewhat. So many people buy something cute, but have nothing to pair with it, so it sits unwanted and unworn before it's tossed. I definitely learned that as a parent. I do not buy anything for my daughter without a specific match, unless it's a dress of course. If I get her cute patterned leggings, there has to be a matching top, otherwise, you wind up with a ton of tops and not enough bottoms or vice versa. This is also why neutrals or mix and match patterns and colors are so important. I make my daughter's wardrobe capsulated. Because of my work schedule, I'm already gone in the morning when my husband gets our little one ready for school, so it makes it easier on him if I already have things picked out. It takes a little extra time when I fold the laundry, but pants and tops are already folded (thank you Marie Kondo!) into a little packet that goes file-style in her drawers, organized from short-sleeved to long-sleeved (lighter to heavier), so my husband can just grab and go depending on the weather. It is a little more "front-loaded" time, but it works wonders. I used to be afraid that capsule wardrobes we too rigid, but with young children, it is such a time-saver and anxiety reducer! I think for adults, it's just a matter of putting a few things together in one capsule, like Rachel was doing so you have a few options that all go together, and then being flexible after you wear it and adjusting or just flat out organizing new capsules. You are so brilliant and stylish, Rachel! Your creativity is matched only by your class and your lovely sense of humor! The antennae!!
The wasp was hoping you'd purchased a yellow jacket. He's waiting to become fashionable. Also, the pretty lace toppers on the floofy green dress from last haul might be pretty. Like a fancy flower child. The dream.
Hip huggers! We wore them with longer shirts (top of the thighs) or crop tops (not sure how you feel about showing off your midriff). Fall & winter we wore thigh length cardigans, sometimes with their own belt, Aryan sweaters were the rage, too. Late 70's, we wore short sleeved crop top sweaters over long sleeve button down shirts, too. We relied on the more fitted through the waist type tops to accent instead of the belts you're used to wearing. As for the blush top, try pairing it with the classic slate or dark charcoal grey or over olive slacks (think Katherine Hepburn). Leave the peplum out, it's a waist shrinker according to Mom. Here's an excerpt from Bridgette Raes: Pair blush with flattering colors that look good on you. Blush pink may not be everyone’s color but it works well with a lot of other shades. Try it with navy, chocolate, olive (gorgeous color combination), charcoal, black, burgundy, teal, emerald, and more to balance out the muted and washy qualities of blush. Blush is an accent shade that works with both warm and cool colors. Anchor the shade. The problem with blush is that it is usually too lofty and light. Imagine the color like a helium balloon that needs to be grounded. Pair it with dark colors to do this. This is especially important in work environments where light colors can come across as passive and weak. Choose blush accessories. Blush is gorgeous in accessories, like in handbags, shoes, belts and other leather goods. Instead of buying blush clothing, look to add blush in your accent pieces.
@@mala3isity🏵Excellent advice. Thx for sharing. 💖 Own 3 different shades of pretty pink blouses w/traditional white pearl buttons that really stump me. Figuring out a way to pair them w/black, navy, gray or brown makes perfect sense. Maybe if I swap out the buttons to match one of my neutral faves, I will actually start wearing them! Bravo!👏
@@teresacarle294 You're welcome. =) Now I love opposite colors to make them pop. Baby pink paired with turquoise blue (not so much with turquoise green) is a combo I adore. When I was younger and mod, I wore baby pink with milk white, sherbet orange and lilac. Then I shifted to the "Age of Innocence" and wore blush with ivory, cream and a deeper shade of the pink. Be careful of the base colors of blush, blue-red vs. orange-red. I look terrible in orange-red. You could swap out the pearl buttons but I'd wear pearls, earrings, necklace or bracelet. Mixing the necklace and bracelet with others can tie in other parts of the outfit, too. Classic pearls with multi-colored pearls. Twist a string of pearls around a metallic chain and it's a totally different look. Antiqued metals look amazing. 1928 Jewelry Company, check out their inventory page for ideas. Holy cow Rachel, that blush cardigan over a cream/white cami with some high rise denim shorts and a big 70s hat would be amazing !! Could even work with the lacey one as well.
That blush cardigan-- that color would be beautiful over a light brown, or rosy brown color or pattern-- it needs to be the replacement for a white on a darker outfit , I think. (ooh, on black it would look French inspired). Loved watching this video right when posted, love everything you do!!

Thanks to you, Rachel, I am looking at ThredUp for the first time. I had seen ads for it but was never interested before this video of yours. BTW, if you have a shirt which you only want to wear tucked-in, but it is a bit too short to STAY tucked in, you can make it work by sewing a strip of compatible cloth to the bottom edge. I am tall, and prefer mid-rise trousers, and I have done this successfully.

In the early 70s we often wore hot pants with patterned pantyhose. Then we wore soft, tight knit shirts, some with a choker strap across the neck. Low rise jeans, of course. No bell bottoms but flairs and for a year or so palazzo pants. Very, very long stocking caps were in style as well, the longer the better. One short girl at school had a hat with a tassel that dragged across the snow.
I like your usual style of hauls, but I also really enjoyed this! I tend to not know what I’m doing when putting together an outfit, so it was really great to see how you style your clothes!
I love that version of OZ! I was obsessed as a child...I'd go to Blockbusters and rent it all the time! HA now I want to watch it.... obs love your clothing haul videos!
My favorite color combo are green and orange. I know it sounds crazy but when you pair together it looks fabulous. But then again, i don’t mind brighter colors.

You can post a thrift haul every week, I would watch it ALWAYS! Heck! You can talk about how they did their recycling in the 1800's & I WILL STILL WATCH! ^u^ ♡♥ Lots of love always from Brazil! ♡♡♡♡
That shade of green is actually incredible on you!!! I'm also really digging that cardigan over the white dress, I wouldn't have thought to pair them, but I think it's hella cute!
I love the 1940’s and 1930’s music that you always play in the background of your videos and I recently found two vintage radio stations that only play music up to the 1950’s at the oldest and 1920’s at the youngest and both can be found worldwide on the internet the first is called uk 1940’s radio the second is called British Homefront radio you should really check them out I only found them about a month and a half ago and I never have them off though I listen to uk 1940’s radio more than Homefront. 🤗😼😺😸
Fabulous, as always! I love seeing you style items that you're a little less familiar with! Good to know I'm not the only one who sometimes struggles with styling pieces that I really like but don't know what to do with!
Thank you! This is what I really needed! I'm starting to dress vintage like and this helps. I hope to see this type informational video again from you. It was really good and interesting to learn.
I really like this concept! I’ve got a bunch of clothes in my closet that are okay, but not perfect for me. But now I have an approach for spicing them up and combining them, so I don’t have to throw them away or let them rot in the darkest corner of my closet … XD THANK YOU!
I got a vantage dress and my family was like that's cute on you,so I got it.But I was like when would I wear this? So I gave it away now I'm regretting my choice, but the whole point of this was that when you wear this stuff you're more confident and that is something I admire.💙
Getting a new look always makes me feel happy, so I love going to charity shops or buying vintage to be more environmentally conscious! Love love love this video and the core message
Growing up in the 80's/90's, I always gravitated towards the 70's low rise, bell bottom cut of jeans. I couldn't stand to feel pants on my stomach area for some reason. But I layered a lot too, so I wore a lot of body suits with them, & had a lot of long cut, light weight, spaghetti strap undershirts because I wasn't allowed to show midriff either
I had a white denim jacket once and asked a lady in a store for help styling it. She said to make it the only white item you have on and make sure the layer underneath is solid colored with no patterns. I tried her advice and it really helped me.
It makes me so happy when people make Return to Oz references, because for the longest time, no one knew what I was talking about, and trying to explain Wheelers and why they terrified me was like trying to explain a fever dream.

I love that version of OZ! I was obsessed as a child...I'd go to Blockbusters and rent it all the time! HA now I want to watch it.... obs love your clothing haul videos!
Making vintage clothing rival Urban Outfitters offerings! Very classy. Indeed!!!
My favorite color combo are green and orange. I know it sounds crazy but when you pair together it looks fabulous. But then again, i don’t mind brighter colors.
have to say though you look as great in the low rise trousers as in your usual high waisted outfits! just stunning!
Return to Oz!!!!! Lol. I love that movie!!! This is going to age me, but I still have a puzzle game from that movie! Nostalgia! 😍😍😍
Try Karliene - she does a beautiful Return to Oz song
I love vintaging around. I have a few vintage skirts from my grandmother and my fav is a baby blue LL.Bean wraparound. With pockets it's awsome.
Apparently it's from the '70s, but it's the vintage type. www.etsy.com/listing/556376613/70s-cotton-wrap-skirt-vintage-ll-bean?ref=shop_home_active_14&frs=1
omg the pants. THE PANTS! I WANT THEM!!! They look absolutely beautiful on you!
Looking at your beautiful dog, I think he looks like a companion of an old lighthouse keeper. I imagined them looking at the sunset with light wind breeze stroking their hair :D
The outfit with the white dress and the no-sleeve cardigan is soooo pretty.
Wheelers were the scariest.
Love your styling.
They were the WORST 😂 I still get the heebie jeebies
I really appreciate the styling videos since it gives me more insight into how you layer and choose outfits.
Yay!!
THE RETURN TO OZ REFERENCE! The Wheelers scarred me for life. FOR LIFE.
You can post a thrift haul every week, I would watch it ALWAYS! Heck! You can talk about how they did their recycling in the 1800's & I WILL STILL WATCH! ^u^ ♡♥
Lots of love always from Brazil! ♡♡♡♡
Hahaha thank you love!!!
That shade of green is actually incredible on you!!! I'm also really digging that cardigan over the white dress, I wouldn't have thought to pair them, but I think it's hella cute!
Your period background music always makes me think of Bioshock and then I have the strong urge to replay the whole series. Which is not a bad thing!
Ugh YESSSSSS I need to replay the series 😍😍😍 I'm such a wuss with the first two hahahaha
It isn't obscure at all! Every time I walk into Hobby Lobby, the first green item I see on their glass display shelves gets the OZ treatment! XD
Return to oz was an amazing movie! Also i love all your refrences and style! lol i think im in love
When you yelled OZ I freaked. One of my favourite movies!!
It's so good!!!
Fabulous, as always! I love seeing you style items that you're a little less familiar with! Good to know I'm not the only one who sometimes struggles with styling pieces that I really like but don't know what to do with!
Thank you love!! It's definitely a case of trial and error most times so I wanted to make sure I included that 😂😂
Thank you! This is what I really needed! I'm starting to dress vintage like and this helps. I hope to see this type informational video again from you. It was really good and interesting to learn.
I have that same silky forest green blouse in plum!!!
All the outfits look so lovely on you and I also am a big thread up and thrift store shopper.
I really like this concept! I’ve got a bunch of clothes in my closet that are okay, but not perfect for me. But now I have an approach for spicing them up and combining them, so I don’t have to throw them away or let them rot in the darkest corner of my closet … XD THANK YOU!
I loved the obscure reference! That film is one of my childhood faves, for sure. Vid was amazing, as usual!
The third outfit is soooo pretty for spring!!
I got a vantage dress and my family was
like that's cute on you,so I got it.But I was like when would I wear this?
So I gave it away now I'm regretting my choice, but the whole point of this was that when you wear this stuff you're more confident and that is something I admire.💙
The lace cardigan over a turtle neck with the cords.
The off-white outfit gave me serious Edwardian vibes! Gorgeous!
Yes, It would be a interesting if you could explain why you chose a certain piece. Like, for example the green top sleev and such.
Good to know thank you!! ❤️
Getting a new look always makes me feel happy, so I love going to charity shops or buying vintage to be more environmentally conscious! Love love love this video and the core message
Thank you lovely!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This was really awesome. I'm terrible at styling clothes so I love watching people explain their thinking process.
They are THE. WORST. 😂😂😂
