Lucifer, aka what if David Bowie was a comicbook character.
Absolutely!
@@StrangeBrainParts do i recall that Gaiman and Kieth did base his appearance on Bowie in the A Hope in Hell issue?
This has been, by far, the best look at Lucifer I have ever watched.
It's a series worth more attention than it gets. In my humble opinion.
Thank you! It is my favourite graphical novel of all times!
Literally the best comic ever written and drawn.
You've inspired me to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
You're very welcome! Hopefully you enjoy it. I'd suggest giving it about 15 issues. If it doesn't hook you by then it probably won't.
I've got every issue of the mini series and the original ongoing
Just got interested in this serie, this is very helpful!
Looks very interesting and VERY different from the TV series (that it's just a police procedural tv show).
Its a bit more than that. Most of the cases he works on actually tie into the whole God's Plan thing because he learns a lot about himself through those cases. He is very different from the comics though but I'm fine with that
Well done!
Wish I could give this something more than just a thumbs up.
The third Lucifer is certainly living up to the first series so far, and has already surpassed in the second series in quality (although it’s quite a low bar).
If by third Lucifer you mean the Sandman Universe one, because some people count the 3 issue mini-series as the first series and that would make Sandman Universe lucifer the fourth. I haven't actually read the story yet, but it looks promising. Out of all the versions that one looks the most like David Bowie (like Gaiman intended).
Great work as always
Thank you! I appreciate you taking a moment to say so.
@@StrangeBrainParts I have watched a lot of your videos really, the Cerebus, Mr.A, Brat Pack where my favourites. I dont know why your channel is not bigger, because the quality is objectively great.
@Diana laz Gloom You are very kind to say that. Thank you again.
Thank you, for another look at a series outside of the mainstream. But, when do we get Hellboy or Abe Sapien or Lobster Johnson?
Looks interesting
looking forward to your take on "The Unwritten"
*☼ solid*
I'm still confused if this Lucifer vertigo is part of DC?
The idea of David Bowie as Lucifer Morningstar is just So Damn Beautiful and Attractive!😍🤭
where can i buy these
Is it bad that your mini-mentaries are so good, I don’t feel the need to actually read the source material?
No you should go read things this is a generalization
I just went on and read the original 10 SANDMAN trades and then followed that immediately with the entire Miike Carey-penned LUCIFER series....I was in fact re-reading them, but it was the first time I'd read them in such a continuous block....I felt the ending to the LUCIFER story was quite satisfying and have not really wanted to disturb that with picking up any of the "new" series....that said, I might give that 3rd series a try....is there anything from those 2 intermediate series I should know before I do so (I have no plans to bother with reading them at this time as they do not seem to be very well tended to as per your vlog here).
Where are they to be found... did you get actual comics..
@@lovefunnyflicks I got the original series from a comics shop in Cincinnati Ohio (Queen City Comics) in tradepaperback - 5 volumes that contain all 75 issues and a couple of limited series...it ended in 2006
@@jamesmcclure3907 Thank you for letting me know.
Ok taking a look at the comics readcomiconline.to/Comic/Lucifer-2016/Issue-1?id=23741#4 and finding it difficult to read/see the format.... only looked at comics from about aged 5 till 8, I'll persevere for one issue...
Nope 10 pages is enough.... not a gendre I can get a handle on...
Just to be clear, does anybody have the reading order for the Lucifer story?
Well, if you've read Sandman, you only need to read the Lucifer run by Mike Carey. I think the chapters are collected into 5 big volumes.
Do the Endless have their own series? Or are they part of Lucifer series?
All or most of the Endless show up in Lucifer. As far as I know, I think on Death and Destiny had miniseries. Nothing ongoing, though.
The endless as a whole do not have their own series. Dream's series is Sandman and this guy has a video on the Death miniseries they did.
Does this Lucifer bear any relation to the one that appeared in Hellblazer?
Constantine does appear in Lucifer though
They’re going to meet in the next issue of Lucifer
Good american seinen.
