I first learned about this character in the Justice League Dark. Now I’m interested in reading more about Timmy!
Mister E reappears in tThe Trenchcoat Brigade as well along with the rest of the people that introduces Tim to magic.
The manticore storyline was amazing. I wish they had developed it more.
My favorite comics next to the Sandman. Tamlin Tim's father was amazing & Titania, goodness such wonderful comics.
I always, for some reason, thought this series was connected to Sandman
It does tangentially, Sandman, Death, Constantine, The Dead Boy Detectives, etc. appear through out the mini and ongoing series.
I think the use of the faerie realm is the biggest connection between the two series. It's very tangental, really.
10:26, You forgot to mention; Animal Man and Swamp Thing, when you brought up Vertigo characters who went back to the DC comics continuity there along with; Zatanna and Constantine!
This looks interesting
The art looks fantastic
@@MaxArturo will do
I've been waiting for an episode on Tim Hunter. Hope it's followed by more Vertigo-focused episodes on lesser titles.
Indeed, there will be more Vertigo material in the near future. Probably a lot of quick reviews like Enigma, but there is one longer video being edited now.
So J.K. Rowling read "The Worst Witch" and "The Books of Magic" and said to herself, "I can work with this."
I'm joking of course, kinda, maybe, a little bit.
“Bespectacled”. He wears spectacles. 👓
“Bespeckled’ means he is covered with spots or patches of color. 🦒
These are great videos. Well edited. Keep up the great work 👍
Mister E... an obscure nutjob with a white suit and a need to destroy all evil with as little ambiguity as possible? Is this a Ditko reference?
Switching universes on me are you? Lol.
Great video man. As always!
Nice tidy recap of so much material!
A great series. Need to revisit this soon. Thanks for all the awesome videos. Your taste in comics mostly mirror mine.
Thanks for watching!
This was a great overview. I only read the original Gaiman mini and the Children's Crusade, the rest seemed a bit flat to me. Would love to hear your take on the Dreaming series. On a different note, HP was derivative from several sources. ( or inspired by) Check out the similarities with LeGuin's Earthsea material!
I don't think Harry Potter simply rips off Books of Magic.
That would underestimate how much it rips off X-Men, too! 😝
I don’t believe u
Didn't 2000 A.D. have their own young boy wizard The Journal of Luke Kirby =O
1:26
Yay a New video
Think if the multiverse were to be true. This boy magician like many other "heroes" that are seemingly just a story in our timeline can actually be a living being elsewhere. Story just tweaked a little, countless times or counted.
That's interestiing - not directly developing the main character - that character will eventually be developed threw all those interactions no matter what. But to see the main character from so many ohers perspective is a unique idea.
Damn. Mister E was not f*cking around. He wasn't taking any chances that Tim would become evil. It seems like Mister E could make a great reoccurring antagonist or even mentor for Tim. I wonder why no writer took an interest in him as a villain
Depending on the artist he sometimes looks like Sue Perkins.
The initial miniseries was awesome. The series that followed were just not very interesting.
IDK Life During Wartime was pretty good. too bad it didnt last.
☼ you think she didnt do 'research writing her books? maybe its fine. we'll never know. but i hope she bought them as you suggest, if there is any truth in it. gr8 vid.
Wish theyd put out something more adult oriented ,i heard the newer series is good tho
Thx
Yep, Luke Kirby published by 2000AD predates both both Harry Potter and Books of Magic
8:31 cmon guys HP is just a copy of BOM
Literally

it started out so well easily one of the best starting points of almost any comic and with some of the best characters, too bad most of the comic is a jumbled terrible mess with those early awesome characters turning into solipsistic jerks devoid of all the earlier charm. Poor Molly abandoned and changed by writers and love interests alike until you hardly resemble yourself by the end.
I hope WB makes movies series on this book..to fill the gap of HP😑
Tim Hunter and the Cursed Child?
Worse vertigo series ever. I really wanted to like this series. But it really sucked.
Harry Potter is more similar to Mildred. The worst witch than it is to this series.
I don’t think this anything like harry potter
