  • Had more fun at HH today fishing up those spotted bay bass and halibut. Think we even had a couple of baby sand bass but when they are that small who knows. Beautiful day on the water with low tide activity but with some wind to blow you around a bit. Met up with some others from FB groups and just had a great day all around

    I remember this area long before it was all built up, back in the late 60s/early 70s. Used to fish way in the back area, near Edinger. I think it was called Sunset Park, but no park was there yet. Fun Fact: that same area used to be a breeding area for sharks...big ones. In water so shallow, you could walk in and drag them out.

      oh man, I caught a shark at LAB just this last week. That one was not scary but I was wondering about momma being around

    Glad u added the difficulty getting out. I launched the tube there w ease but was low tide when I returned. Shin high mud. After getting unstuck, kicked to park to exit. STAY AWAY during mid to low tide. Enjoy the vids!

      Yah I had no idea, did not notice when I launched but when I came in, I was slipping and sliding all over

    Again, good action. Really enjoyed the hookup (2nd fish?) “as it happened”. We love that feeling--when a bass nails our lure-and you got it on video. Good work! Looking forward to more “fish ons”....

    I've tried float tubing HH a few years ago but couldn't ever hook up. Being new to float tubing I was pretty much on my own since I couldn't convince anyone to buy a float tube and go with me. Nice to see how you are going about it. I once kicked all the way to the inlet bridge. Took for dang ever!

      OHHH dangerous area there. You can actually get pulled out but likely to be stopped at the Navy lane before actually getting sucked out. I stay pretty far away from that area since the current there can really rip. Great fishing if you can get on them though. HH has been pretty rough, think it is just so highly pressured and the water temp fluctuates so much with the new water flowing through.

    Hey man love this video! I kayak fish up in the Channel Islands harbor in Oxnard. Just to let you know the second fish is a barred sand bass.

    Would a 3 foot tide in Huntington be ideal

    • @FisherNewb
      @FisherNewb  4 года назад

      I go in the harbor where there are no size of tide or waves. Are you talking about the strength of the tide? You want strong tides but compensate for it by working your tube as the tides go in the direction you want to go

    • @cyruslopez9402

      Fisher Newb ok I was just wondering if the a tide of 0 feet to 3 feet would be good fishing in hunigton because there is a little tidal movement

    • @FisherNewb
      @FisherNewb  4 года назад

      @@cyruslopez9402 okay I think you mean the height of the water based on the tide. That is not much so it will be easy for you to kick around. Two major factors - tide and wind

    Hey, great vid! I'm trying to get into fishing in Huntington Harbor, curious what lure that is. Most of the guys fishing the harbor are using a similar jig and I have no clue what it is.

      Its a derivation of a HookUp Bait. A glide bait from San Diego. You can find them at Turners and some other shops around.

    What inflatable life vest do you have? I just bought a used Fish Cat and have everything else except the life vest. Thanks

    I'm not a boat owner but I would be a bit upset if I saw you casting your lure right in between boats like that. I know you are trying to be extra careful not to hit anybody's boat but still you're too close for comfort.

      Sure, I get it. Not a problem. I don't see it as any different than people walking next to my car in a parking lot or shopping cart. To each their own and I understand what you are saying.
