I recent purchased the 6000i and love it. I am not interested in quilting, but sewing so I don't see myself using most of the stitches. I did see the 7000i but refused to buy it solely because of the flower HAHA. It's a great machine for nearly everything most people use and a great price.
Heya, I'm considering buying this machine for general minor clothing fixes but also wanting to upskill as time goes and start doing some projects. The machine seems good but I've never used one like this before so just wondering if you've had any issues with maintenance or repairs. Or any issues in general? I just don't want to buy a cheaper machine only to spend more money fixing it up. Would be grateful if you could let me know, thanks!
I've had the Brother CS6000i for 5 years and absolutely LOVE it! I do all kinds of sewing, both garments and quilting and this machine has performed flawlessly. I used to have a high-end Bernina. My Brother CS6000i performs just as well as that Bernina at a tiny fraction of the cost. You can buy a quilting foot separately, but I never felt the need for one because you can move the position of the needle to precisely a quarter inch from the edge of the foot. And I don't use those fancy stitches, even all the 60 that are on the CS6000i. I also love how light it is! This machine is a fabulous deal, even though the price has gone up about $25 since I bought mine.
re: 1/4" foot -- pay less for machine or pay a tiny extra to get it with the other machine (yes, may not be necessary as you say or if you're not quilting all the time, specifically, too).

I can't believe I watched a sewing machine review. Awesome! I have been going to my tailor for over a decade and he is about to retire. I am sad because we had great conversations together. Now it's time to learn a new craft. Thanks!

Thanks for your great video!!!!!! I did compare both of them at the dealer, and decided for the CS7000i for its size and weight that was not that different, and because at the moment, the CS6000i was about 100.00 USD more expensive due to the higher demand for this machine. And anyway, this was a gift for my little niece- she is only 11 years old, but loves to sew!!!!!
This was most helpful. I have had a CS6000i going on 13 years. I'm thrilled to hear about the 25 year guarantee. I'll be looking into that. I have some rust in mine due to living in the tropics. I wonder if there's a way to get new parts for replacement. Rust or no rust, she's a great sewing machine. Just keeps on sewing.

It can be, as long as you use the correct sewing needle. But if you are planning on sewing leather and other thick fabrics on a continual basis you may need a machine that has a stronger motor. But you will need to go up in price then.
Hello, I have NO IDEA where to start. Matter of fact, only the machine (without power cord, pedal, accessories etc..) is left here. It is in this playlist here: ruclips.net/p/PLppxTOkh07MfSx1-ANtLfz5NWXuSahA-1 as for what you need to get your machine going, the plug, sewing foot and machine should be all you need to start. All the extra accessories are not important to start. for a full list of what the machine comes with I would suggest going to the brother website and looking up the manual, it will all be listed there. Happy Sewing!
Hello @Tamara's Joy . Thank you for your help. I have finally gotten a new machine and several tools from your links. Hey! That’s so cool to hear Joseph!!!! Maybe email me the picture? My email is located in the about section. Or tag me on Instagram. I would love to see your hard work. Keep it up! It only gets better from here!!!
Yes it comes with the button foot and buttonhole foot which you can see at minute 3:01. Settings are built into the machine to use these feet so you are good to go :)
I’m having a problem with my 6000. When I’m using the walking foot if I speed up at all, the stitch length becomes extremely small. What am I doing wrong?
I haven’t had that problem. But is the walking foot installed properly? There is a little arm that needs to be attached to the bar that holds the screw that holds the sewing needle in place.
The walking foot allows the top wnd bottom fabric to move at the same speed so you don't have it bunching and you don't have to pin the fabric as often. I would not use much speed on a walking foot.
Yes, definitely! I love this machine and find it to be easy for a beginner to use and learn on. It is a quality machine and is made with beginners in mind. The only think I am not a fan of is the automatic needle threader. It is a little hard to learn but once you read the instructions and figure out how it works it becomes easier to manage. Hope this helps!

Thanks for this video :) Would I be able to use a machine like this to customise my dogs collars and put their name on the collars? I'm looking for something where I can just type text or input text and have the machine embroyder the text.
You are welcome! This machine does not do letter embroidery so my guess is it won't be the right fit for you. You may be more interested in an machine like the brother xr9550 as it has a letter stitch or an actual embroidery machine like the Brother PE800 where it will do most of the work for you. Hope this helps! Happy Sewing!
Yes it comes with a manual. But I would not recommend it for a sewing business. It is a good sewing machine for beginners. But if you are sewing on this machine every day, all day I would suggest a much more industrial machine.
The inside of the machine is what isn't plastic. Brother Machines have come a long way, they have a very large range of machines you can buy these days, even the sewing/quilting stores sell the brother brand now.

what's the difference between Brother CS7000X and CS7000I ?
Does the auto threader work ok? Because my SE 400 was fully automatic with a side lever.
It’s not as smooth as an actual automatic threader. But once you get the hang of it it’s not too bad.

They both come with the same button hole foot. Hope that helps Varraah 😀

First go to your Manuel to trouble shoot your particular machine. If nothing works it may need to be service by a sewing machine technician.
Is this good for thick fabric ?
It can be, as long as you use the correct sewing needle. But if you are planning on sewing leather and other thick fabrics on a continual basis you may need a machine that has a stronger motor. But you will need to go up in price then.
Any tension issues with this machine? Does it come with a walking foot?

Hi! Is picot option is available!
It does not come with a picot foot. But you can buy it as an attachment to use with this sewing machine.
@@TamarasJoyDIY oh ok. Thank you so much.
Can CS7000i sew thick cloth or multiple layers as CS6000i ?
They will both sew the same types of fabrics. If you use a jean or leather needle you can sew through thicker items.
I wish the lcd screen was backlit.
That would be a nice feature for sure.
Does anyone know if the cs6000i have a button option ?
Yes it comes with the button foot and buttonhole foot which you can see at minute 3:01. Settings are built into the machine to use these feet so you are good to go :)
For some reason on Amazon the 7000 is 20 american dollars cheaper than the 6000
Nice! A steal of a deal!!!!🎉 thanks for sharing Andrew.
Just got the 7000i can not to try
I hope you enjoy it Beverly! Happy sewing 🧵 💓and Merry Christmas 🎄
Does it have USB port
No it doesn't
I’m having a problem with my 6000. When I’m using the walking foot if I speed up at all, the stitch length becomes extremely small. What am I doing wrong?
I haven’t had that problem. But is the walking foot installed properly? There is a little arm that needs to be attached to the bar that holds the screw that holds the sewing needle in place.
Thx for responding . I do believe it’s installed correctly.
Hmmm 🤔 I keep thinking about what might be wrong but I can’t think of anything. I wish I had an answer for you 😞
@@TamarasJoyDIY thank you for trying.
The walking foot allows the top wnd bottom fabric to move at the same speed so you don't have it bunching and you don't have to pin the fabric as often. I would not use much speed on a walking foot.
Do EITHER Stitch LETTER /Numbers ?
No. Neither one does letters or numbers.
Hi Tamara! Do you think the CS6000i would be good for a beginner?
Yes, definitely! I love this machine and find it to be easy for a beginner to use and learn on. It is a quality machine and is made with beginners in mind. The only think I am not a fan of is the automatic needle threader. It is a little hard to learn but once you read the instructions and figure out how it works it becomes easier to manage. Hope this helps!
@@TamarasJoyDIY Thank you!
have no idea about sewing machine. I have seen the video of 5 machines quilting sewing machine from youtube channel.
1. Janomi 8200
2. HQ stitch 710
3. janomi 770 Qe
4. janomi 6600
5. GQ Sweet sixten
The sewing of these sewing machines is very good
I would like to buy the cheapest sewing machine just like these machines. If anyone knows, please tell me the name of the lowest priced quilting sewing machine. Name it. I will only sew using free mutton.
Hablen español porque no entiendo nada
I wish I could. I really do!💜
Forgot: can both easily sew thick jean hems?
Yes it would be able to do that but make sure you use a Jean needle.
@@TamarasJoyDIY yes! I'm still deciding because another one after the CS7000i is available (😄).
Hi! Do they provide manual and instructional guide for these sewing machines? Is it useful for sewing business?
Yes it comes with a manual. But I would not recommend it for a sewing business. It is a good sewing machine for beginners. But if you are sewing on this machine every day, all day I would suggest a much more industrial machine.

Need parts send phone.thank you
I Yvonne, I don't work for brother, you will have to contact them directly.
Looks like cheap plastic everywhere on this machine, wouldn't trust it at all.
The inside of the machine is what isn't plastic. Brother Machines have come a long way, they have a very large range of machines you can buy these days, even the sewing/quilting stores sell the brother brand now.
