You can first get the shotgun where that security guard got killed in that locked off fenced area... No need to worry though as you will get it again, would just have made this episode easier
In original HL1 you would get the shotgun. In Black Mesa you'd get the Magnum.
@@MavByte They've changed it back to a shotgun.
naw man the glizzy with the switch wets aliens just as good as the shotty
5:23 I like how she didn't use the blue box that was put next to the pipes to climb it up, she crouch jumped, which is what you were supposed to do in that part because there was no blue box there. That blue box was added after a dude called DSP didn't know how to crouch jump, he struggled to get through that part for HOURS, if you wanna see some real cringe and how not to play videogames watch DSP's let's play of Black Mesa.
The funniest part is he blamed the game and says "one of my Twitter followers told me how to pass through this finally, the jumping in this game is bugged you have to do something called crouch jump or whatever"
she didnt crouch jump, theres auto crouch jump in BM because of that guy
18:40 Nope, you can save him.
Yeah you could have got the shotgun a little earlier by saving the guard at 18:30. But you found one by the end, so no big deal.
This game brings back lots of memories. Played it since it was brand new on PS2, back in '01. Nostalgia!
Love the playthrough. Really interesting to see the game updated this way, and through new eyes. Quick hint: There are armour recharge stations which are similar to the health recharge stations. They have Orange/yellow Panels with fuel symbols and HEV in big letters. You've wandered by a couple, without realising it!
A wise man once said, "there are no bad ideas.". He should have said, "there are fewer good ideas.".
9:02 freeman never skips leg day😤😤😤
So here's an interesting observation:
Most male players I've seen playing this game will instinctively try to save the guard and reload if they fail to try again
Most female players will just watch, thinking his death was scripted
You're the odd case inbetween that instinctively tries to help but immediately assumes his death was scripted after he died
I'm not sure what can be said here but I'm sure this is some study just waiting to happen
I think not about gender. Im trans and what? What is it have to do with my good heart that try to save everyone i can? It also about being a player for long. I played many games where being a hero rewarded you (Metro 2033, Doom 3, Half - Life, Half - Life 2) I just don't act like game is a game when people have to die always. I know there can be a reward or i try to save people just to feel better. Its about a way players choose to approach games. Other approach it as a game, other as an interactive story where being a good guy means, trying to save everyone we can
@@aurorafox1283 gender does matter, somewhat. Its not that "everyone acts like this", its that upbringing and such do affect psychology enough to lean into certain reactions. I won't be making any guesses over who is "supposed" to do what, but observation that certain genders lean into certain behaviors more often sounds believable
@@aurorafox1283 There are very clear genetic differences between men and women and how each biological sex would tend to react in certain situations. I realize this ruins your fantasy since it means you will never be a woman. But science doesn't care about your feelings.

Is that you Ben Shapiro?
Hey Dani! I'm glad you're liking this masterpiece so early! But be warned, as it starts kinda slow but when it picks up pace it's a nonstoping roallercoaster!
Btw. Apparently the difficulty you've chosen is the "easy" difficulty (despite saying is "normal") and the "Black Mesa" one is the "normal difficulty". Just saying in case you have issue with the game being way too easy. Depending on how far you are into the game by now, its wouldnt be too hard to start a new game and "speedrun it" to your actual location. I personally wouldn't recommend playing this game on easy. It kinda ruins the adrenaline of a lot of moments by trivializing its difficulty. Just my tidbit! :)
Incredible playthrough im glad that you like the music its one o the many great things of the remake, keep it up Candi
Hi Dandy:) Even though you missed the shotgun beyond the gate where the guard died(he opens the gate if he survives), you still got through most of the level without any trouble👍. When you get to the “We got hostiles” level, that’s when things get more challenging. You’ll get there in the next video!:)
I randomly found your channel while trying to explain the twist opening of Prey to my mom lol. I think I was 10 when this game came out. It was the first pc game I ever beat all on my own I think. youre making great progress and I really feel like you have to know that zombie is going to attack the guard to get through the fenced off zone.
Hey try to quicksave as much as u can. Before platforming or combat. Its like F6 or something
10:11 For your defense, platforming is not really good in this game :) You will get many other opportunities to die later xD
Oh, brave guy who deleted his comment when I pointed out that the H.E.V. charger he recommended to use is depleted... Nice taking time writing comments...
Anyway, thanks for the playthrough, Dandifying Gaming, you're awesome!
Why did you not help the guard! You could have easily saved him and got a shotgun AAAA
Another entertaining video. Although you aren’t impressing anyone by playing on the easiest difficulty. Black Mesa is actually normal, and I’m not sure why they renamed the difficulties for this release.
I don't think this is a good idea to crank up difficulty just for entertaining let's play. Especially in Black Mesa where difficulty mainly means bullet sponge enemies and less numbers in health-energy.
@@J0rdan912 I see what you mean. Maybe I’m just so familiar with this game that I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be new to it. I still don’t understand why they renamed the difficulty levels, though.
@@primevaltimes Black mesa is normal? and what's Normal then? lol I think I played on Black Mesa difficulty the first time too. It wasnt that easy tbh
@@fratystuff6737 Normal is Easy. Before the 1.0 update, the difficulties were Easy, Normal, Hard. After it they were Normal, Black Mesa, Hard.
@@primevaltimes i see. Thats why shes barely taking damage. Very misleading
Do you what's more funny about this game it's not made by valve, it's made by a crowd of modders called the crowbar collective that's why it's called black Mesa and not half-life?
