Step into the world of tone creation with Brian Wampler and legendary session guitarist Brent Mason as they unveil the story behind Wampler Pedals’ latest innovation: the ReWired pedal. This is more than just a conversation-it’s a deep dive into the art and science of creating tools that help musicians shape their sound with precision and versatility. Filmed at the iconic Hilltop Studio in Nashville, this video captures a unique blend of storytelling, gear exploration, and musical inspiration.
The ReWired pedal represents the next chapter in the evolution of the Hot Wired series, originally inspired by Brent’s unparalleled career as a session musician and guitarist. For years, Brian and Brent have collaborated to design pedals that meet the exacting standards of professional musicians. The ReWired is the result of those years of partnership, with every feature carefully crafted to address the needs of players looking for versatility, practicality, and exceptional tone.
In the video, Brent shares his journey from discussing gear on forums to working with Brian on groundbreaking pedal designs. They recall the early days of mods and experiments that paved the way for the Hot Wired pedals, leading up to the innovative features of the ReWired. This pedal offers dual channels that cater to everything from pristine clean tones to searing lead sounds. With controls for gain, fat, blend, and order switching, the ReWired is built to adapt to any guitar or playing style. Brent demonstrates how he uses the pedal with different guitars, showcasing its ability to dial in everything from classic chicken-picking tones to more aggressive rock textures.
This video dives into more than just the pedal’s features. It examines its role in the larger landscape of music creation, offering an in-depth exploration that goes beyond surface-level details. Brent and Brian explore the importance of having tools that inspire creativity, the nuances of tone-shaping, and the joy of discovering new sounds. Brent shares his perspective as a musician who’s played on thousands of tracks, explaining why even the most seasoned players need variety and innovation to keep their sound fresh.
The ReWired’s intuitive design and powerful features make it a tool for everyone-from studio professionals to hobbyists. Brent explains how its flexibility lets him adapt to any musical situation, whether it’s crafting a subtle texture for a recording or finding the perfect lead tone for a live performance. Brian highlights the thought process behind the design, ensuring the ReWired pedal is not just functional but also inspirational.
Throughout the video, you’ll see the ReWired in action, with Brent walking through its features and demonstrating its sonic range. From the fat control that enhances low-end richness to the blend knob for balancing clean and driven tones, every detail of the pedal is explored. Whether he’s playing a Telecaster, a Les Paul, or a Gretsch, Brent shows how the ReWired brings out the best in each instrument.
The conversation also touches on broader topics, like the evolving role of gear in modern music and the endless search for tools that spark creativity. Brent compares pedals to spices in cooking-essential elements that bring variety and flavor to every performance. This philosophy drives the design of the ReWired, ensuring it’s a pedal that not only performs but also inspires.
If you’re passionate about guitar tone, gear innovation, or simply love hearing from one of the most influential session musicians of all time, this video is a must-watch. It’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the relentless pursuit of great sound. Stick around for tone tips, gear insights, and plenty of laughs as Brian and Brent share their stories and expertise.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the minds behind the ReWired pedal. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or an aspiring guitarist, this video offers something for everyone who loves the craft of music. Be sure to check out the full demonstration, and if you’re interested in learning more about the ReWired, follow the links in the description to explore it further.

Brian Wampler is the best. I blew a Wampler Analog Delay pedal by plugging into the wrong power supply. Brian repaired the pedal and shipped it back on his dime, no charge. Still in use today.
Brent Mason is someone I watch and try to emulate a bit of what he can play, the easier stuff of course. Great guitar player, one of the best.
I need to give a shout out to the Wampler Cory Wong Compressor pedal. What a great sound I hear since I added it to the board. Brilliant.

Love the video! Your admiration for Brent really comes through in this interview Brian. There are so many of us that feel the exact same way about Brent :) Brent is without a doubt, the modern day father of the Fender Telecaster in Country Music (especially the late 80's, 90's and 2000's). It's not even debatable in my opinion. He's the best of the best. If I may go a little further....Roy Nichols and James Burton are also heroes of mine, but Brent took what they started in country music and took it all to another level and did that thousands of times on thousands of albums/songs. What an enormous body of work that will live forever! That should make Brent and his family very proud. Brent Mason is a "once in a lifetime" talent on guitar.
I also like all the improvements to the pedal. Smart move to make the "Fat" switches into knobs. That will work much better to dial in the tone even further. I also like the more neutral color scheme. Cant wait to try it out!

When Brent was a child/adolescent, his family used to play music at a camp in Ohio called Bluewater. My family camped there and I likely heard them a few times at the Saturday night dances. Years went by and Brent went on to fame and record his song “Blue Water Girl”. His wife had responded to one of my posts on the telecaster forum so I DM’d to her and ask her if the title of that song came from the camp. She confirmed that Brent and family had indeed played at that camp in Ohio but the title of the song came from a trip she and Brent took to some island that had beautiful blue waters. At least that’s how I remember it!❤

I got the v2 second hand after they all have been discontinued. Have loved it since day one. Being a Mason fan myself, it has erred me away from other name brands somewhat. Between the Ego, Belle, and Hotwired v2, I have felt like I had it made. Do have some of the other pedals you see Brent use. Boss EQ (Brian can you make us all one that looks similar as a Boss EQ and is that compact?? Maybe Brent will move to your EQ next if you do :D) and Dunlops volume pedal, EH Memory Man 1100-TT. I really have done everything I can to get that 80s-90s tone and love it. Customized a Deluxe with Warehouse Speakers, you name it. His signature Tele. All because that sound Brent has is so Iconic. Of course I appreciate other sounds: Paisley, EVH, both Angus Young and Reggie Young. But Brent's has out weighed them all for that sound that I personally try to emulate. I just ordered a Rewired today! I am looking forward to adding it to the collection.

A couple of Allman Brothers named their kids Duane. And thousands of guys that grew up in the 70s. One being my dad. 😁 I'm pretty sure Butch has a son with the middle name Duane, like mine is, and Dickey Betts named his son Duane.
I couldnt be more thankful that my Dad named me after my favorite guitar player ever, and his, and the person he & I both consider the greatest guitar player that ever lived.
The funny part is that I came to that conclusion on my own, years after becoming an adult. For whatever reason, I finally decided to go through their music and really see what my dad thought was so great. I found out quickly. And it eventually led to me buying my first guitar 😁 and 2nd... And 3rd...and just bought the 8th about 2 months ago lol!
