When we reach the end of ourselves we find He has always been there, and life begins
There's a bit of Jonah in all of us. Running away from God.
I am grateful beyond words that He found me. 🙏
That was 🥶. I love it
Amen😊
I listen to this when I feel depressed. It makes me feel better.
A modern adaptation of a Poem written by an opium addict of the 19th Century. Living in cities like Hong Kong and roaming the world in search of satisfaction, peace, an end to inner turmoil, the poet returns to England 🏴 He is taken in by Christian monks who (good Samaritan and all that stuff) feed him, care for him, provide a roof over his head, show him mercy, show him love, show him compassion and essentially slowly he is weaned off the drugs. In short he finds Christ and finds inner peace. That hound of heaven still follows us down the years and is never going to stop following us….We just have to stop running and look into his face.
The Hound of Heaven couldn’t be more contemporary than this. Shared with a lot of folks. Thanks
"The Voice was just been a machine. And once the machine was finished with someone, all that was left was the ruins of what you had been"
This adaptation is just the kind of presentation that would help us come to an understanding of the power of God's love, His constant watch, and most of all His faithful seeking of His lost sheep.
Of all art, music and poetry this resonates with my life's journey the most deeply.
I am absolutely blown away. This really is an amazing illustration on HOW MUCH God loves us. It's so overwhelming and overpowering, that it is really hard to comprehend sometimes! I truly thank God for being God, and for never ever ceasing to chase after us! Glory and praise be to God!!!
It's vert difficult for anyone to understand the everlasting mercy of God, who is Love. Pax Christi. ☘☘☘
Francis Thompson (16 December 1859 - 13 November 1907) was an English poet and Catholic mystic. At the behest of his father, a doctor, he entered medical school at the age of 18, but at 26 left home to pursue his talent as a writer and poet. He spent three years on the streets of London, supporting himself with menial labour, becoming addicted to opium which he took to relieve a nervous problem.
"A destitute misfit, addicted to Opium" in the credits does NOT do justice to this man of faith and his recognition as a Catholic mystic.. --- In my humble opinion. I pray for his soul. 🙏
I felt the Holy Spirit.. the chills sweeping through my soul.
Thank You Lord, for everything you’ve given.. seen and unseen.💗
This shook me.
Excellent modern adaptation of this beautiful poem. Truly beautiful work.
Thank you for doing justice to the original poem with this modern adaptation!
I fled Him, down the nights and down the days;
I fled Him, down the arches of the years;
I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways
Of my own mind; and in the midst of tears
I hid from Him, and under running laughter.
Up vistaed hopes I sped;
And shot, precipitated,
Adown Titanic glooms of chasmed fears,
From those strong Feet that followed, followed after.
But with unhurrying chase,
And unperturbèd pace,
Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,
They beat-and a Voice beat
More instant than the Feet-
'All things betray thee, who betrayest Me'.

'Ah, fondest, blindest, weakest,
I am He Whom thou seekest!
Thou dravest love from thee, who dravest Me.'
-The Hound of Heaven ( an excerpt), by Francis Thompson
The Reckless Love of Jesus chases you down. He will climb up any mountain and kick down any wall to love you endlessly.
Words cannot come close to describe this beautiful adaptation
..the illustrations the narrator the story of unfailing unconditional love .pursuing us..then the deciever....also after us for our destruction for our demise.Eternal damnation is Satan's goal for us.
This story occurring now for all those who are not yet redeemed...yet whose human hearts still beat. The clock ticks louder and louder ..how many? how many breaths do you have left in your lungs .do you know ? ..surrender to your maker..He is the lover of your soul. He is your Father, allow Him to love you. To comfort you.To eventually bring you home into everlasting rest, peace joy un ending .we will be with our Dad where we belong!. Amen!
This meditation makes me think of that beautiful ALLELUIA...song.. In answer to your comments.
A truly great poem, borne out of immense suffering.
I have now enjoyed this. It is an old story as true as the day it was writ. true since the fall the curse and the promise. It is also my story. My pride whippt me on. I had to get torn down to the ground before I knew it was not his need but my need for him. Thank you
Was rather dubious when this popped up in my recommendations, but am glad I watched, a rather beautiful modern interpretation of the glorious original. Well done and thank you.
I absolutely love ❤ this video animation & version of Hound of Heaven! Thanks be to God for loving & pursuing us! Love to all 🙏 🤲
To those who would hear... the shepherd seeks the lost sheep. There is none righteous no not one. There is none that seeketh after God, no not one... Do nothing but think we are all absolutely wretched and that the God of the universe is adopting us into his family as sons of God and we will do well.
I knew a Lee Black who went by "Buds Black" when he was a young man. His Dad & Mom were Ed & Dodie.

That is not me. God bless you and keep you this day.
Francis Thompson’s how of heaven has always been a favor of mine. Happy Easter everybody and God bless you🙏🏻🥰🕊
Really well done...it explains Francis Thompson's Hound of Heaven plainly....Poetry was never my strong point... After hearing this ...reading Thompson's work is enlightening. The first time someone turned me on to this poem was at a Drug Rehab a long time ago... I am happy for Francis Thompson that he finally found peace & eternal love... "Broken pieces & shattered dreams" ...in the busy noise...when all you have to do is listen to the silence!!!!!
So beautiful to recall the memories of my youth. A prayer I found in my prayer book, ''Youth before God ".
Thanks, it's good to know that there are others who appreciate the past.
Fantastic adaption of The Hound of Heaven! I really love the illustrations here, coupled with the beautiful voiceover. Thumbs up! This is outstanding work!
This poem and your voice pulls me out of my depression, thank you.
That is splendid to hear..Praise God. May His love for you bring you to wholeness of soul, body & spirit so that your spirit doth rule!
God bless you with richness & soundness of life till our Saviour & Lord appears.
Tim Ladwig's illustrations really convey the true mire of the world, as well as the hope there is in Christ. The filmmaker's concepts and execution are all very sensitively done. Well done!
Craig Claudin thanks for his name.
This gives voice to the thoughts that haunt so many of us. Frances
Hands down the most powerful video i've ever seen! amen xxoo
I did appreciate this presentation.
so beautiful. I found Francis Thomson´s poem thanks to Ravi Zacharias´s book The Logic of God. This was superb. God bless you.
Beautiful. Listen to "The Hound of Heaven"
Beautiful interpretation of the poem, captivating visuals, and a poignant story. Very well done!
Wow I was just reminded of this poem this past weekend and I love what you did with it! I am sharing it with everyone i know!!
That's exactly how our Lord works. Praise Him and all glory to Him for u. Thank u for loving the Lord Jesus
It is amazing to me that so many examples point to pure genius emanating from a tortured soul. Francis Thompson is most assuredly one. When the best English poets of the day state, 'I wish I could write poety like this', how can anyone argue?
Quelle magnifique adaptation! God is so good!
Beautiful. Plan on listening many times over. Thank you for posting.
Thank you. Just read the original ~ He spoke to me, tenderly ~ even though the original was like Portuguese to me. This works. Epic poem of redemption ~ revealed to the ear of one born more than 3 generations after Francis Thompson died.
This is so beautiful.
Beautiful
I love my Jesus........
That was fantastic
Amazing
Truly amazing
Beautiful and brilliant. Thank you so much
OH MY GOODNESS this is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! Brought tears to my eyes!! SOOO wonderful, thank you and God bless you!!!

Absolutely beautiful and Blessed. I had it was in my prayers 🔥 1965.To hear it sung is heartwarming 💖
Beautiful. Thanks.
WOW..........just WOW
Incredible, just incredible! It reminded me of a homeless man I found on the streets and come to find out from the police that he was very, very rich man that lost his wife. After that, he wandered the streets and he once told me that money was a curse, that he would give everything to have his wife back. He just walked away from success and wanted to die in the big city. Somehow, that plagues me to this day and this poem makes me wonder about things no one wants to think about. We think that the glass is half full is a positive step, but it brings into question while most of us pursue a life of success, is that materialism and is that evil or is it what we do to help others in life that matters the most? If everyone just helped one other person, what a world it would be!
Thanks so needed in this peripatetic world .
So beautiful!
A beautiful, modern adaptation of that poem.
Thank you for sharing
We praise you Jesus!
Very powerful!
Eye opener this is AMEN!🙏🏻
Brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this.
Beautiful. Thank you. We are sharing it with an online group from the World Community of Christian Meditation
So well done - love the song as well as the updated poem/video.
Absolutely amazing and moves me deeply still after so long! The Father's love is like nothing else and oh so perfect!
This video was so touching. Thank you!
19 people are still fleeing from the Hound.
Fabulous
HE IS OUR ONLY CONSTANT ..
This phone is the machine that is captivating so many minds everyday
This modern adaptation was a beautiful watch.
An amazing story ...
Beautiful. Thank you
I usually despise modern adaptations. But this one grabbed me. Thank you. God always finds His own, even after they seek solace in so many other things. And when we finally look to him, I am reminded of the hymn, "I sought the Lord and afterward I knew, He move my soul to seek Him, seeking me. It was not I that found O Saviour true, no I was found, was found of Thee." It was written to the tune of Finlandia by Jean Sibelius
Amen
A wonderful and touching adaptation. Blessed be the Lord Jesus now and forever
ThankYou Jesus. I love you.
How beautiful. This is done so well and so speaks to my life. Thank you for giving it to us.

I was a heroin addict..For many many years... (Stop Now).
Pax Christi. ☘ You belong to God, and He is everlasting mercy, and love.
4 years later I am still clean of heroin. His grace and mercy is what it is..
God bless you! We are all the same in our running from him and his loving care and pursuit of us...
@@soulvaccination8679 He is faithful and just to forgive (all of) us our sins
Wow
Similar to the Spiritual Journey of Mary of Magdalene, from a woman possessed by seven demons to a woman who was the first recorded radical transformation to what Persons become who follow Christ.
wow....
It was said he sorrows over broken people....
gorgeous!
I loved the Hound of Heaven for decades, now I love the adaptation as well. It's always been about the implacable God of John Calvin who WILL save His child though it take decades.
"From those strong Feet that followed, followed after.
But with unhurrying chase,
And unperturbed pace,
Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,
They beat - and a Voice beat

+jorgekluney - Catholic or protestant, this about the sovereinty of God who will have His way.
This was written by a Catholic mystic.

this some deep stuff :
stories are soul food, we all have one, and when Jesus calls there is no more running just repenting when we fall short.
