Yes, many call the 757 the pencil plane…but the 757 is actually good 😂 anyways, happy Canada Day 🇨🇦
Happy canada day you too (i'm not canadian😂)
happy canada day (im from spain lol)
happy canadian day! (i'm american though)
i have a gallon of maple syrup to celebrate that
Happy Canada Day. (I'm British, your coloniser.)
true tho
5th answer
also HAPPY CANADA DAY (im argentinian btw)
In spite of those minor failures, I like how the plane looks esthetically.
Me too!
Agreed.
Same
it also sounds really good
Nah, bruhhh
I read this on some video:
"The A340 basically looks like a longer A330-300 with engines that look like hairdryers."
Quite accurate, in my opinion.
This.
Is.
Accurate

Hell
Despite the many failures and things that are not safe, it’s incredible how the A340 has never crashed.😅
It actually has crashed once, Air France flight 358. However it was because of pilot error and luckily no one died. So it has had no fatal crashes which is still really good.
Yes ur right, but I meant no fatal crashes thanks for the information.
The pilots flying this dachshund (German design input) are not experienced enough in crashing. It will be achieved, once the outgoing aircraft will be converted into freighters and sold off to low grade airlines. As an enticement for reusing the pilots in such events, at conversion time ejector seats should be fitted to the flightdeck.🤔
Accidents not so many (Iberia overrunning at Quito Twice in the same year)
but alot of overruns
I think the a 340 isn't a bad aircraft, they make it incredibly good to the engine progress that was at that moment. The main failure was when the 777 was released
Yes you guess it, I am an Airbus fan and Iove the a380

The A340, for a very brief period, actually filled a gap in the market.
It was before the 787's introduction (mid to late 2000s).
It was the perfect plane for ultra long haul routes that had medium demand.
In other words, routes that were too far for a 777 and not a high enough demand for the 747 or A380.
For example, it was operated by Singapore Airlines for the Singapore to New York route (direct flight, about 21 hours in 2009, longest commercial flight at the time).
Cabin was fitted with business class only.
Then the 787 and A350 came out and we all know what happened.
MORE ENGINE = BAD
Singapore airlines still runs this route now but its with a A350 ULR.
And the flight time has been reduced to 18 hours
Well the seeing the a340 takeoff is kinda scary because it might tail strike and 1 hour later the rear part of the a340 will fall off and everyone died the end.
@@Dragongames5248 is this an actual crash?
@@TheStickyDynamiteYes but it is with A Boeing 747 Japan Airlines 123's previous flight tailstriked due to this when it took to the skies many of the tail got blown out and destroyed to pieces 30 minutes later the plane crashed only 4 people survived
@@ArwinasMoon I'm aware of this crash but im not aware of any A340 crashes
Before that was released, their engine choice was the IAE Superfan. But since the IAE Superfan was delayed, Airbus would only look up to use 4 CFM56 Engines.
Despite the failure, I am impressed of the safety record of the aircraft with no fatalities recorded. The problem with the A340 is that it does not meet the standard of modern aviation because of its inefficiency 😢
If the A340 didn’t came out at the wrong time, it would be an amazing massive aircraft
Sure, such as amazing even before 787 relase
Better FBW
In my opinion, the A340 is absoulutely gourgeous. I live in HK, and saw HiFly Malta, Swiss and Luftansa A340-300s in one day!
The fact that Swiss and Lufthansa are still flying the type and SAA was still using it as late as 2019 for flights between JNB and IAD/JFK was pretty impressive.
Swiss airlines is dead
You know, the a340 and a330 were designed as one main body. So they had to optimise a structure for both models. Which could be the reason for its fail.
Then the rule-breaking big boi and I mean *big* 777-200 came out.
The a340, however, has an advantage: Safety.
The 777-200lr/er and 777-300/-300er have had more crashes.
The a340-300/-600 have had 2 crashes. Which is equal to the Mh17/Mh370 events. Then there is ek521 at the British airways crashes.
Even though the a340 is considered bad, it has advantages over the 777.
The worst parts of the a340 were the engines on the -300 and the timing of its release. It was like an a380 prequel.
I do like the a340 and 777 tho
I can't be the only one who actually thought the A340-600 was just one of those photoshopped planes that look like they're longer than 12 cruise ships when I first saw it.
I honestly agree 😂
yeah true looks like it was photoshopped
A340-600 is my favourite aircraft actually!! It’s so long it’s amazing! And those four trent500 engines make it even more aesthetically pleasing. The longer the better! 777-9x is going to outclass it though :/ especially if one day there’s a 777-10x variant that one is supposed to be 80m long and rival even the 747 and a380
Not too popular with the airlines. Another set of tires for the landing gear in the tail is required and a bellow element fitted just past the wing, enabling the fuselage to rotate without the tail striking the runway. A feature like the tilting nose cone on the Concorde and Tu144.🙄
777 with 4 engines = to red grapes fav aircraft
They're both my favorite planes
@@danyellebrazell9836 .
The full truth is that some runways were not long enough to fit the entire plane from front to back. Airbus is working on a secret Airtrain, with the elements taking off in sequence, assembling in midair, cruising around the planet, eventually landing somewhere, separated into elements again. Depending on the distance to travel, 1 or 2 of those elements will be fuel containers only. The documents sported codes become the "A600" series, although, fine details on that part have not been obtained any further yet.
When I was staying over at JFK for a day and a bit of the next day I actually saw a Lufthansa A340 taxiing to a gate since it had just landed before hand. I also saw other rare planes. For example, I saw a UPS MD-11 and I think a 747-400.
even though I've been through quite a bit of drama in your discord, I still really enjoy your awesome videos, its getting better and better!
My discord server is silly goofy that’s why I don’t go on it lol, but glad to hear you like the videos!
I luv the a340, specially the a340-600 variant, nice video bud!
Awesome vid!
Your channel gives me swiss001 vibes, in a good way. Much good luck in the future with your channel bro!
Many people tell me that, but thank you :)
too long 🗿
four engines 🗿
old 🗿
fake A330 🗿
but still an amazing aircraft 🤙
Kinda reminiscent of the old classics like the 707 and DC8.
You gotta admit quad jets do look cooler than simple boring twin jets even if they are less fuel efficient.
This is the only four engined plane I've ever flown on, and honestly i kinda like the pencil plane look.
Another great video 😀
Thanks mate!

What “2 hour flight video” lol
@@ice711real uhh about that tiny engines it’s not how and airbus a340 just failed I give you explanation why airbus a340 failed .
So the reason why airbus a349 failed it’s because that airbus a340 was too heavy and there was a big fuel gap between airbus a340 and Boeing 777 that’s why airbus a340 failed

Hi remember me 'cause this is the first video I watched on your channel :)
Hey man, I do remember!
You can say about the A340 what you want, but its safety record with 0 fatal accidents is undisputably amazing
Because only 380 were built... So what do you expect😅

I noticed the A340-200/300 have the main landing gear of the DC-10/MD-11 (one small gear between the main landing gears) while the -500 and -600 have three double bogies as main landing gear.
My dad is an air traffic controller. And he said watching those a340s taking off and climbing out (or attempting to) is a truly pathetic sight
I'd say it was a succes because not only it had 4 weak, but useful engines (in example if one went out the aircraft would still fly), but ALSO topped out other aircrafts such as the Bumble Bee (only 1 made)
Also what samsung type phone do you use?
I have another question?
There is also another competitor here the MD-11
Which IDK which is better?
Can u do a vid on this topic?
True, many tri jets also competed wirh the A340, something I didn’t mention.
The A340-300 is my favourite variant of the A340 family having flown on it before. The -600 is an A330 with steroids.
i absolutely love the A-340, the 777-300 and the 747-400/800, long sleek aircraft always have been a soft spot for me.
Yes new video to watch!
I like the A340, I think it‘s a good aircraft, but I don’t get why Airbus didn’t just make it a version of the A330, since it’s almost the same, just like the A300 and the A310.
This video is the reason why I love this plane
nice ice
I hate the look of the 200 and 300. But i love the look of the 500 and 600. Maybe they should maybe the landing gears taller and re engine the a340 with 4 ge90-115b's. The a340neo

jusst used an a340 300 and tbh it aint to bad the takeoff is extremely slow and the flights feel incredibly long but it gets the job done its good for long haul flight with low demand and swiss air still uses em

I actually feel kind of bad for the A340... A nice plane, but it came out at the wrong time.
Very true!

I honestly don't see the A340 as a failure, it was just made at the wrong time.
3:30 that is ###### lovely
0:49 How dare you to call APU an engine!!
I say about the A-340, that it is kinda good. So long, could hold much passanger. But those tiny engines and the fact i'm a Boeing fan, the B-757 wins to me.
I really wish QANTAS would purchase some A340-600 planes, as they can fly further than an A330.
i love the A340-300 i fly it a lot with Edelweiss
I hate nerds who complain about planes, but not u, the only thing i did not like about the 340 was the fact that it literally needs a tailstrike to take off
What is the song used at 3:12
Kanye west wolves
This boi didn't have any fatal crash so far, so it's good
The A340 is one of my favorite planes, it just got unlucky with its tiny engines and being built right when they changed the rules
the a340 is my favorite plane but i agree it flopped, one does go to my home airport DEN still which is cool
fun fact: airbus was technically able to make the A340-600 more LONGER but the factory would not have enough space to store the fuselage
2:16 im bussing... that finnair livery
Well at least the A340’s smaller variants have that noice and amazing buzzing sound from the CFM-56
The IAE-V2500 is better
1:04 loud engine vs A340 😂
You're the best aviationist i know till now
Yes, about the a340, my country (Pakistan) had many a340, not from PIA, but from AirBlue. It was the A340-600 variant but there is one inquiry. The longest runway in Pakistan is in ISB international. Which was released after the a340s retired. So i asume at their time the largest runway is K

I don't really think it's a bad aircraft have flown the 300 on Philippines and it was really great, it was on the timing Airbus could have never known that at the time but overall loved flying the plane

A 340 is my 3rd favourite aircraft and its good because TAP Air Portugal as got it. (I am Portuguese)
I have a question. You said that fuel efficiency and speed were not the best on this aircraft. For the fuel eficiency part it's kinda obvious, but what about speed? What is it with the speed?
You already saw it in the first take off clip but because the engines were so small and weak on the a340 it couldn’t cruise on the same speed as other airplanes of its size
1:30 thanks for adding philippines airlines
What's the song at 3:26
The A340 and A310 cockpit windows look like the rock eyes if you're at a certain angle😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

A330/340 are hard to be hated , nice job Airbus
"10/10 samsung quality"
That is beyond confirmable
4:09 This guy has laser vision in order to plane spot that
Can you do a contest of what the best AI created plane is?
It's not that good, but it has great potential! It flies farther than the A350-1000, and since it has four engines, they could turn the two inner engines into rotating engines so it can also produce vertical thrust to shorten it's liftoff distance.
One question tho, did you get the pilot license
