the hardest in order is: end stone, Terracotta, Glass, Water (cover entire bed with that way it makes it harder) wool and finally the bed. also make a mining fatigue trap and Voila! you have the unbeatable bed in bedwars. you can also cover it with ladders, it doesnt seem like a good idea though.
make sure to have more than one water source, so even if they cover the top of the bed with blocks to stop the water theres still water

I think I would've put more water, because water is the most annoying thing you can use as a bed defense. Obsidian is obviously too, because you need a diamond pickaxe but I still recommend more water. :)

i actually have a bunch of layers of blast proof glass, end stone, (as first layer) then add water and stuff and then cover up the layers with wool so they think its only made of wool and they come unprepared without an axe and pickaxe.

Bed defense is completely skill preference, if u are really good at bedwars and ur aware of your bed, I think simply obsidian with some wood or wool is best. Big bed defenses can be a double edge sword and gives them protection if they choose to burrow

I usually don't care about bed because I am so good. It is like I am playing Skywars, but different maps and no chests.
I still manage to win with or without bed. It doesn't matter for me.

I pretty sure having water on an outer layer is a better idea, since the water will only protect against the obsidian. Having it farther out would prevent the other layers from being exploded.

One time I played against a team with a massive pop-up tower defense. Not like 2 or 3 I'm talking like 10 pop-up towers sprawled across their base. Getting the bed was legit a castle siege mission
I'm pretty sure that was me... I only play teams and did that a lot because it was cheaper than an actual defense.
