As unconventional as Mudrock 2nd talent may sound, she does extremely well in maps with Sarkaz enemies, since they are a bunch of maniacs (same as Sarkaz operators lmao)
Yeah, considering Sarkaz are the most powerfull enemies of the game it is a pretty neat talent.

Don't need to defend if the enemies are dead, cough cough Surtr cough cough.
Defenders are in a really weird spot. In low end content, you don't need them at all, because an AOE Guard can block *and* kill at the same time.
In high end content (eg high risk CC), Defenders just don't scale enough to make tanking damage a viable strategy.
So, they're kind of this class that you use if you feel like using them, only they cost more than Guards and do a great deal less damage.
The only exceptions are the healing defenders, who can heal themselves or an ally through damage and have higher burst healing than most medics. In the recent CN user poll, Saria and Mudrock were the only 6-star defenders anywhere near the upper parts of the rankings.

@@amal-_-8360 Pallas was also ranked quite low in the CN poll, and part of it is her low healing output - a barely discernible 40hp per attack, which is not nearly enough to make up for her Talent requiring allied targets to be above 80% hp to benefit from her buff.

4:20 : actually, there are people who legitimately use blem for cc, she just needs e2 Mr. Nothing and S1 Kafka to perform a very niche but potentially game breaking infinite stall strategy.
1. Sleep an enemy with Blemishine, then while they're asleep sneak in Mr.Nothing.
2. After the sleep runs out, Mr.Nothing will have charged up his talent and stun the enemy for 4 seconds.
3. After the stun runs out, sleep the enemy for 5 more seconds with Kafka.
4. By the time the enemy wakes up from Kafka's sleep, Mr.Nothing will have charged up his talent again, and stun the enemy for 4 more seconds.
5. After all that stunning and sleeping Blemishine would have attacked enough to get around 11/12 SP. Unless the enemy can literally attack faster and 1 hit kill Blemishine here she'll get the 12th SP and press S2 to start the combo all over again. If you are really worried you can bring Chen to sp battery blem and her will have 12/12 ready always.
The Strat works as long as the enemy being stalled isn't stun or sleep immune and you can print the dp Mr nothing needs to stay on field.

Honestly, you do have to plan a lot around her, but Eunectes is the only one that can hold their ground against a boss and hurt them really bad.
Besides Surtr, but that should be a given.
If eunectes sp charge isnt limited to blocking enemies she belong on the same tier as surtr

"First talent increases her surivability greatly without the need for a medic" is kinda weirdly phrased considering she can't be directly healed anyway
Blemi for crowd is painful to hear indeed. She's a support dps, and not healing focus. But it's hard to understand since everyone must have Saria heals or big dps to count for anything, apparently.
The main problem is that the DPS role is far, far too saturated for blem to stand out (if she could heal herself she would've had a niche but right now she doesn't)
It depends on your definition of Crowd Control. Blem can bunch up enemies with S2, which allows you to stack enemies to maximize the impact of a well timed W S3, Ash S3, Weedy S3, or Iris S2. So, while Saria S3 amplifies incoming Arts Damage, Blem amplifies the effectiveness of AOE skills (by stacking targets).
Also, Blem + Hung is pretty nuts. With Blem's Talent, he can activate S1 every 2 seconds or so, and he heals himself for over 1300 HP each time (and Blem S3 heals him for 2000+ HP with each hit), making him possibly the biggest damage soak in the game (discounting Specter or Surtr's timed invulnerability).

[edit] In all seriousness, pick the defender that works for the application. Do not shoehorn yourself into a specific bias, keep an open mind and use an appropriate operator for the application. That's what makes Arknights fun.

Nian was my only one defender that could tank 4 hits from CC4 maxed golems.
Still I wish using Nian skill 3 was more used in general, seems like Blaze-types Guards could do some strong work together but it's just never needed.
Well, the future operator Pallas gives +1 block and healing, and more attack and more defense to an operator in front of her, so it will we certainly more useful in many situation
Nians 3rd skill doesn't have as much use in CC but it works wonders for helping tank hoards of stun enemies or enemies that require 3 block
(kinda like Dossles Holliday)
One reason Blemishine gets compared to Saria so often has to do with how each of them performs when used as your only Defender. They're not wrong to say that Saria is better in that scenario, but that's not a particularly thorough comparison now is it?
Theres frankly only very little operators that can be compared one to one and even less when it comes to comparing them individually.
Arknights is a squad based game. You're supposed to use 12 characters together covering for each others weakpoints. Why would you bring saria or blem as your only defender?

I use nian with hoshiguma which both happen to be the best normal 3 block defenders in global, and her S3 is a lifesaver when fighting enemies that can freeze your ops and can safe your run.
The Blemi vs. Saria Argument is like Mudrock vs. Vulcan, don't compare something with different roles.

Tbh Eunectes is basically like Ifrit, instead of someone being the fryer to let ifrit grill what is being blocked Eunectes only needs a chopping board ala healing defender to clump up the fools to witness her gundam. Lane gets busy? It enables Eunectes gets to charge up more to render that lane utterly silent. That and having literally near twice the damage of Silverash for a defender is quite hilarious.
Bro I need help, I got eunectes few days back, but I have doubts whether I should build her or not. I am currently at chapter 4. So should I regularly use her in my team?
@@YandereENjoyer4469 If you like her, sure build her and use her often. You'll not be disappointed by her 3rd skill. Do note she needs to be blocking an enemy to charge up so chuck her at some elite mobs or put her in a busy lane at frontline with someone behind her.

Saria is objectively better because she’s in my roster, unlike Maria. I’m still sad/mad about it.
I had the genius idea once to use Blemishine on AP-5, since I like using Mudrock there and I needed an operator whose sole purpose would be to block enemies and keep themselves alive. Spoiler alert: Blemishine can't keep herself alive with my strategy. So Saria, Specter, Mountain or whoever tf else ended up taking her place RIP

I've seen people call Nian discount Mudrock and it flips my brick every single time. I understand they both have damage negating shields. Literally nothing about them is at all similar besides that.

I have a feeling that the reason people think she is worse than she really is boils down to lack of experimentation. Her S3 is insane when you place her in range to affect units like Surtr, Ch'en, and Bagpipe.
