GCLR Episode 5

The GCLR welcomes 2024, and work has begun to get the railway ready for trains to begin running.
Before any trains can run some essential maintenance was needed and checking of the track is required. This winter we have seen a lot of rain and whilst we have not had any landslips like on the big railway, there were still sections that needed some ballast work. After a visual check it was time to run a train over the line just to make sure everything was 'ok'
For this task Bert would like to introduce 'The Beast' a locomotive that does what it says on the tin, runs anywhere, and will haul any load, sounds a bit of alright, and its also quite a big bugger too!! It was also first out of the locoshed.
After attaching a brakevan Bert and The Beast take a trip round the line including the new sections. mmmmm the linemen had missed a few branches which were soon fixed, overall a successful trip, The Chief Inspector gives his seal of approval, rubber stamps the certificate that will enable the trains to run, (at the behest of the weather of course) and some new exciting projects will greet passengers when the launch date is announced.
