Yes, but by that logic when you kill someone during the purge, it's legal. However, the next day (and from there on, obviously) they remain dead and you were the one responsible. So, you should still be accountable. Except they're not in the movie. Just as the act of stealing the merchandise was legal during the purge, so it doesn't seem fair that you should be charged for still having them after the purge is over. I definitely get your point, though. It's just a huge paradoxal plot hole in the movie.
This is one of the few rare movies that keeps on getting better, let's hope it stays that way.

I saw the Purge when it first came out and I said this would be in America's future. The First Purge was what I thought would be the explanation of how it started. Our inner cities will be lawless and wealthy developers will send in contractors like Blackwater and do an extermination.

What's great about the purge series is the different viewpoints in each movie. The first one shows the lives of the rich and their beliefs and anarchy shows the struggles of the poor. I honestly can't wait for this one to come out

The biggest flaw of purge logic is that eventually America in this way would make terrorism also legal. And Americans are afraid of terrorism xD
Next flaw is:
In this movie, poor are the targets, while in reality there would be poor people with COMBAT history who served in military with intention to kill also rich.
Third flaw:
It's legal to kill a president, so the other parties would kill each other in that night and country would be in need of new elections and most likely that this conflict would continue in hours after the Purge night so civil war would happen.
Fourth flaw:
If you kill every year to much people you will lack the experience: teachers, politicians, business development etc.
Fifth flaw:
Older people would realize the flaws of the purge and only youth groups would do it which would mean that there would be big mortal rates of the youth(If for example in car crash fatality rate of people under 25 increases for 10-15% what do you think would happen? Also count the lack of the young people in economy).
The Purge would actually bring America 10 000 years back in history even if only it would happen once a year.
It's not the genocide over the poor, it's genocide over the common sense.
To be honest none of these make sense to me

The second was an Action, Horror, Sci-Fi and the third I'm guessing will be classified as an action, Horro/thriller, Sci-Fi as well. They have been horror films the entire way through. The two least showing genres in the franchise are the two you stated they should make it. Why would they do that when everyone loves the way they are? If they lost the horror/scifi side it wouldn't be 'the purge' anymore. It is supposed to have an erie undertone. This isn't a James Bond film. lol
