I'm so glad you made this video Craig! Please don't bring it to work, the suggestion gave me anxiety. 😂😂

      Don’t worry! I won’t! I have a Lamy Pico I bring with me everyday!

I had a friend in grade school that had a fountain pen and it was absolutely the strangest thing I had ever seen. Admittedly, I was running around with the Bic that had 4 colors in it. She taught me a bit of calligraphy, but I really didn't get too much into it.. I should have spent more time on it in all honesty. Now in HS when I discovered that I could draw, I messed around with all sorts of pencils, charcoal etc. But off of a recommendation from the art/English teacher (I took his English class) that I went to school, he recommended this German mechanical pencil.. I wish I could remember the name.. Valley Fever brain fog is strong today.
So I went to the local stationary store and looked.. wasn't on the shelf.. looked at this free standing display close to the register.. not there.. asked about it (dang it.. the name is on the tip of my tongue) and they kept them behind the counter. He looked at this 14 year old kid and asked how I knew about this (remember this is 1984 so we just couldn't look things up) and asked how did I find out about it and if I was serious about it. I pulled out my wallet with all the allowance that I had saved for this mechanical pencil cost 70 dollars. He brought it out, filled the lead and gave me a piece of paper, to which I drew his face. The pencil felt soft to write, flowed so well, and it lasted me sometime after college.. roommate had thrown a party and the next day both him and I were missing some thing.. small things.. I was pissed. Shortly after that my grandfather passed and I didn't draw again for quite awhile.
I miss that mechanical pencil and I can really appreciate the fine workmanship that goes into them. That is a beautiful fountain pen! Truly something that can be passed down for sure bud!

Enjoy using this cool pen. When I am right, Otto Hutt is a company from Pforzheim, the home of many German Flieger watch brands.

How do you clean it? Can you unscrew the nib?

It was a pain in the butt. The only way to really clean it was by flushing it out with the piston knob. I did sell this last year. Wasn’t using it much and the ink capacity was pretty low. Cool looking pen though!

The grip section looks very uncomfortable with those steps, do you agree? is it worth the purchase? looks like an interesting pen.

I’m happy with this purchase! The grip section isn’t uncomfortable but I think it just depends on how you hold it. For me, it’s not an issue!

@@CraigRoccanova would have been nice if the feed was "ebonite" it is well known in the fountain pen world that Ebonite is ideal to use for feeds. It is porous and retains a lot of ink, there for a more wet nib.
