He's the first to hit Chad's gap with a 720 D-spin blowing everybody's mind back in the days, he redefined his sports several times, did all these insane videos over the years, and he's surely one of the most innovative skier with such creativity (One of those days videos). Doing all of that while having his back broken years ago. He's a legend. The greatest of all time in my opinion, and by a huge margin.
There are a lot of good skiers out there...but there is something about Candid Thovex. Those big mountain runs (not in competition) are unbelievable for the speed, huge jumps, relaxed turns at high speed and at extreme steepness, outrunning avalanches--and how DOES he know where he is on the mountain at that speed? And all this after a broken back??? Respect.

K, I got a question. How long does a pair of skis last 'ground skiing' or whatever you call it when he's bombing down roadways and volcanos and through fields and stuff? Cause I've had some problems with skis delaminating here and there, and had to tune some pretty bad rock action out of my skis some seasons, too, but I can not imagine what happens when he puts the beating on those boards that he does.
The editing and effects are top notch but there are a few parts where it just doesn't match up. I thought these were real until the one video showed him getting on a ski lift in the middle of the jungle. That was the big reveal.
He's without a doubt the craziest skier alive. The fact that the lack of snow doesn't stop him... I just made a short edit as well, a tribute to the goat
totally agree. he also seems to be operating under different laws of physics. I can't figure out how he maintains enough speed or momentum for some of those sections and tricks.
