- THE NFA FIGHTS FOR YOUR RIGHTS!
NFA President Sheldon Clare delivers a powerful speech at the United Nations in New York June-2014! At home and abroad, in the face of overwhelming adversity,we will never back down and we will always fight for free people to enjoy the legitimate use and ownership of firearms. Join us today! NO COMPROMISE!
Tony should be given the opportunity to explain to gun owners why he acted in this manner. To me, it seems he is tired of the fact that the NFA is well on it's way to 100,000 members and wields true political weight. All this while the CSSA languishes with their 10,000 or so members. This is just my impression from his reaction. We should all be working together and be showing respect and unity in this most important fight. Again, Tony should make a statement to ensure he maintains or regains his honor. The UN is not preschool.
I agree!!
Quote from Tony Bernardo,
"As an FYI, I was rolling my eyes at two representatives of IANSA who, after listening to the impassioned speech of the Newtown father that had just presented, were noisily mocking Sheldon's excellent speech off at the side. As my friend Sheldon will attest, both NFA and CSSA presented at the UN, and indeed, had coordinated efforts within the UN context. We normally do this as part of our joint participation in the World Forum. When will you good folks realize that the gut wrenching, blood letting rivalry that supposedly exists between the orgs is largely in your imagination and perhaps within the impassioned loyalties of a few members of the associations? Sheldon is my friend, we are on the same side in this battle and working towards the same goals. While our two orgs may take different approaches towards our fight, this does not change the fact that we both want similar objectives. I know Sheldon will echo our camaraderie. Stop looking for boogiemen under the beds folks, we all have real enemies but they are NOT each other. That animosity only exists in your imagination."
Snipped from a well known Canadian gun forum.
eariamjh71 It's the most ill-timed eye roll ever, right when Sheldon claims the largest organization. Hopefully this is over. We need everyone on side.
Civil Advantage
Agreed 100%. Brutal timing on the eye roll. One national org ,with one clear voice, representing all Canadian gun owners interests should be the goal .
Love your channel BTW
"why can't we all just get along"
*tries to remember what movie that quote game from*
Way to go Sheldon... You rock. Please don't stop...
Representing canadian gun owners! right on!
Well said sir, your speech makes me proud to be a member of the NFA!
This is why I'm a memeber of the NFA. Awesome speech Sheldon!!!
Thank you Sheldon, well said.
very well said ,thank you for fighting for our rights!!!
Gotta love Tony Bernardo's eye roll at 1:00...what a tool. He is there representing Canada on the national stage and still acts like a 12 year old.
That’s why I find it hard to financially support his organization. He is a back bencher at the meeting instead of being a presenter, and then gives negative gestures towards the people fighting for his similar interests.
Tony's eyeroll at 1:00 is disrespectful and unprofessional. Unfortunately, that's the level of respect and cooperation his org extends to the NFA.
Yea the eye roll pretty much guaranteed my non renewal to the CSSA next year.
Were all ass holes now... he was never rolling his eye's at Sheldon.

If you believe him. I don't.
For people that have their head in the sand and don’t understand what this is all about...
If our government agrees to support the UN Firearms Treaty, our Country would be forced to follow the rules and laws the UN council makes regarding firearms, not our elected officials.
If the UN council (made up of mostly ‘gun free’ countries) decide it would be safer for the world if no legal civilian could own a semi-auto firearm, then your semi-auto shotgun you use for duck hunting would need to be turned into the police.
Seldon touched on the ammunition issue in his speech. The UN wants ‘micro-stamping’ on all ammunition. This means serial numbers on all bullets and casings, and a record of who owns what. Ammunition manufactures says this technology is possible, but would drastically increase the price, possibility of $10 per round.
People like the lady in RED will be creating the laws Canadians will be forced to follow :O
+that guy Can't we just ship her to one of these countries that highly restricts its peoples rights? ...oh oh oh! I got it! North Korea! I bet she'd love it there!...It's a solution that works well for both parties, yes?
Very good job, Sheldon Clare.
The little eye roll at 1:00 was unnecessary and disrespectful - and at a world-class venue, to boot! Professionals should give a good show of mutual support. For this gaffe, Tony should apologize to Sheldon.

Well said Sheldon!
As a member of both the CSSA and NFA, I want these organizations to work together. Tony B doesn't seem to want to do that, a bit arrogant with the eye roll?

+Alex K Tony and I are fighting the same battle and we are comrades in this fight. Tony's comments are quite correct, and there were many of our opponents around who did not like my words. This is a good example that there is often more to the story than meets the eye.
My respects please keep fighting as we support you 110%
Most participants at the UN meetings are part of organizations advocating for civil disarmament, or from governments seeking money to fund their internal policing operations.
Good on ya ! Takes guts to face those Jackals.
One word to describe that speech: badass
Glorious
You walk into room full of people, tell them why their policies suck, and why they should change their views.
That takes some guts :)
Yup, surprised Sheldon can even sit down with those massive jewels...LOL
Great speech but the music seems wrong
Lol...If the only flaw NFA members can find in that video is the score...I think we've done good :P
P.S I do agree with your statement nevertheless.
Join the CCFR!
Keep speaking up. Small firearms are unneccessary in the private sphere.
"Small firearms are unneccessary in the private sphere"...This must have been a typo...right ? You don't actually believe that do you Elisabeth ? So in the logic of such a statement...LARGE firearms would still be acceptable ! As wise Ben Franklin once said " People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both "
In October 2015 Sheldon Clare ran against Bob Zimmer the conservative MP in his riding. The NFA president ran against the only party that has done something positive for firearms owners. The NFA does not current work in the best interest of firearms owners.
The music doesn't add anything to the speech.
agreed. the music was distracting, if not annoying.
Indeed the most alarming aspect of this video is the music...not the blatant disregard for the opinion of Canadian firearms owners that Sheldon was conveying :P We have an uphill struggle..
I've a page up featuring footage from the Canadian parliament pertaining to gun -rights related debates.
I hope to keep it mostly raw footage and mostly from the pro gun side of things.
Feel free to link.
I did not see any other youtube videos of the debates on C42 for instance, ergo I filled that void.
Tony meant to show his unhappiness with Sheldon's statement 100% The fact he has some flip flop excuse once he's called out on it, shows everybody who has a backbone amongst the two. Better still...the reaction of the woman in red @1:30 when Sheldon pins the real concern on Gov't + wars...she doesn't seem to agree and makes it clear the rest of his speech by acting like a spoiled brat... does anyone know who she is and what her interests are ?
+that guy I was wondering the same thing...these people obviously don't know about or ignore SOFEX and CANSEC where we sell weapons to countries that we say support terror and do horrible things to their people. But nothing to worry about there...what's a few ballistic missiles between friends?
And the little girl in red who wont even listen.
Yup, she did not even have enough self respect to sit up straight and act like an intelligent woman...sad !
where can I get the leaf and rifle logo stickers?
as much as I appreciate what the NFA is doing, i think mr Claire lost most of the audience when he stated that governments were responsible for terrorism against their own people(look at ther reaction of the people behind him). the background music was very distracting too.
Agreed...the truth hurts ! Clearly it set the lady in red's panties on fire ;)
Sheldon, you clearly did not impress the woman in red behind you. She took off her translator ear piece and had a look of disgust. Yikes!
Who is that lady in red?
A statist idiot.
One of the gutless millions working on destroying the world piece by piece...I'm guessing ;)
