My G51 finally died this week - solid speakers that lasted over a decade! Doesn't seem any of the newer sets from Klipsch, etc. last anything close to that. Just wanted to remind myself what the reviews were like back in the day...

This system has a 'Matrix' mode switch on it, what it does is it converts 2.1 channel to 5.1. therefore it can be used with a laptop and be able to get 5.1 sound even if there is only one green colour jack attached!
I own these as well, and my computer has a stock sound card, however, they still kick ass. And they sound great through my headphones (Sony MDR 7506)...
Is there a difference in sound quality between the Logitech G51 & the Logitech X-540? Not sure which one to buy and kinda limited on space as far as the subwoofer goes.
i have one and i just put some cord in my headphone jack of my laptop and it works just fine, watch movies and play games and everything., sounds just as if i put it on the tv or whatever...... but im inaustralia so it might b different

hey man i need help, my brother lately has been sitting on my pc and listening rock, he has hearing problems so he has the volume up normal(very high). he is doing that for about 5 days 2 hours each. could that damage my speakers? (the sound quality) i have logitech g51
I think that the design is very poor. There should be a system like ... Logitech G51 Control Pod and woofer Logitech X-540 satelites ... This would be a perfect system :)
Can someone help me with this? Bought the sub only at a goodwill for $5. After seeing this, it looks like I need a controller. What can I use it for, its probably broken thats why it was without the other speakers. It's goodwill and no returns.

these are over priced and they only get a 5.1 sound quality raiting for the price you pat for these speakers its bad but over all nice to look but when quality matters not my choices
This isnt a total review. Some of your statements are not true. It uses Surroundsound not only the matrix mode. The matrix mode is for 2.1 based gamers or 2.1 music. If you put Matrixmode ON it will create a surroundsoudish effect by playing some tones out the back. And the "other speakers" DO have a mouting bit!. Bad review. Not complete. Filled with lies!

I bought these and installed them yesterday, it's better than i thought and worth every buck.

depends on your sound card, look it up and check compatitibility and check your video card to see if it supports 5.1 when you play games
