Omg...Ruby has such character!! She looks for the snack tray,then she looks at you Patrick, several times !!! Just like are you kidding me? No snacks ?? LOL....she seems like she won't give up!! The way she hangs around your porch is so sweet.....i would have loved to see that bath in the creek, i bet the noises were very interesting?? !! ...i am still hoping Simone and cubs are ok ??..❤❤

@61rampy65 I'm concerted also for Simone and her cubs.It's starting to look suspicious. I hope the cubs are safe and ok and their just on another part of the forest. Simone wouldn't be gone this long unless she's in hibernation or pregnant. ❤
Poor Ruby, she even went on porch patrol to make sure she hadn't missed any seeds, but to no avail. When that didn't work, she looked up with pleading eyes: "Hey, your girl's trying to fatten up for winter - a little help here? Oh well, never mind."

I think it's a good thing you stop feeding birds in the fall, at least until all the bears are asleep for the winter.
You should plant raspberry bushes somewhere in the front there next spring. They smell so good. ❤❤❤😊

Look at Ruby looking up at you, so precious 🥰. She’s wondering where the seeds are at. She didn’t even stay to eat the bugs 🙁. I think this is the first time I’ve seen her go in through the gate. I guess she knew there were no seeds but wanted to see her favorite person. She’s a really beautiful young bear. Always happy to see her. I’m glad she’s coming around since Simone hasn’t. I miss Simone and her kids 😢
Ruby might show up next year with cubs. Wouldn’t know how many. Obviously Simone has moved on and left the porch to Ruby.

Yes, I did and was hoping he would answer. I suspect some Wildlife official told him to stop "feeding" the bears because it skews the results of the study. Maybe that's why Simone stopped coming by and it's only a matter of time before Ruby quits Patrick's porch for good...and there goes the channel :(

It’s been bothering me over the last few recent videos Patrick, what has happened to the bird feeder. In the old days it used to make me wonder whether the birds ever actually got a look in so I imagine you’ve set them up with a bear proof source of food elsewhere.

Ya know, Patrick, of all the bears I've watched here, I think Ruby truly cares for you and wants to "connect" when she drops by. At 4:50, I believe she was just coming up to say hi from a safe place, and use the trellis for a nice little stretch :)

Ruby looks for the bird feeder, then looks back at you several times. Like my wife does when I don't bring home her favorite ice cream. "Are you getting the hints here?? Why is it not there? "

He said last week that he was going to post about new rules, but he hasn't told any of us yet.
I think somebody complained about Patrick feeding wild animals which makes them associate humans with food. It also makes them used to being around humans (in turn that makes them easier prey for hunters)
I mean, I get it ... but these videos that Patrick puts up are great! I feel like I've gotten to 'know' Ruby, Simone & her cubs... etc. :) :) They almost feel like 'family'... I love seeing them & finding out they're still doing well. But I would feel awful if something happened to one of them because they got too comfortable being around humans. I'm so torn on this issue. ♡ Thank you Patrick, for letting us get to know your visitors ♡

Uncle Pat, I live near a park and woods that has deer, coyotes, rabbits, eagles, possums, turtles, etc. Your kindness in providing water for your wildlife inspired me to go to the park edge to the woods 2x a day and filll big saucers (the kind that go under planters) I bought with fresh water. ❤

I’m guessing the neighbors or Patrick’s family aren’t too thrilled by the frequent appearance of bears on the lawn, behind the shrubs, on the porch, or leaning on the glass front door observing meals, especially when the bears sometimes get a bit huffy. No birdseed, eventually no bears. Supposedly.

What a disappointment, AGAIN
She comes by wishing, and hoping, for the seed. As the lady, in the background asked, "Why don't you give them anything to eat, anymore? " I ask the same.
I noticed in the last few videos, that Ruby was down there digging, for grubs, and eating certain plants. There appeared to be seed on the ground... Maybe?
Many people are not aware, that many plants, that appear to be weeds, are, actually, medicinal. Maybe Ruby realizes what good qualities they have, therefore, eats them, when her desserts are not available, at Patrick's house?
Patrick, have you seen Simone, and her cubs? Have you heard any scuttlebutt about them?
