Great Man, great discussion
Facing your own demon, is never an easy thing.
Coming out the other side unscathed is not guaranteed....and unlikely.
Thats the price of renewal & redemption I guess.
Beeing a middle class (or by some upper middle class, not financially but intelectually) person, I understand.the class perspective. But at 72 I see the late 60s and early 70s as a window where working class kids had an oppotunity by merit. Today the priviliged are playing the victim game and the working class are playing along beeing victims and loosing. They are better than that...
Class IS a social construct.
@@markhutton6055 Just like gender?
Intellectually upper middle class...but can't spell "being" or "losing!" Hmmm?!
'Upper middle class intellectually'. What on earth do you mean by this? Since when did personal economic status have anything to do with intellect? I know a lot of very intellectually challenged people who are wealthy and a lot of people who are poor but are intellectually blessed. Clever or stupid is not defined by how much money or wealth is in your family, but by the capability of your own mind.
We live for those times when you make MacWhorter laugh & like to fall out of his chair.
