      The entire idea of a "free market" is a nonsense ideology. It's also the ideology at the center of most libertarians and conservatives. The "free market" does not exist outside the informal economies of the developing world and those are environments everyone else is trying to keep from falling into.

    Shallow question at 32m. An aware question would be what temptations brought you to risk your stable healthy family support system. Thus weaken you into temptations you eventually were no longer the personal master of.

    But professional economists cannot say that accounting/finance should have been mandatory in high schools since Sputnik.
    Even though Adam Smith wrote "read, write and *account* " multiple times in Wealth of Nations. That book is free on the Internet. Search it for yourself.
    Oh yeah, Adam Smith and Karl Marx never saw a Planned Obsolescence Economy. The depreciation of durable consumer garbage is not relevant to modern economics either.

    Glenn at 20m. Shelton went further than the individual will. A healthy person weighs the risks and cost of behaviors that could be paid by his family. Also healthier civic morning imposed by a respectable assembled community.
    This is Burkeian as well. These are informal guard rails of proven tradition. Whether someone is free to smoke weed or other hedonist self-absorbed 'pleasures' is not a matter of
    formal law. IN that Lockeian wisdom frame, Desreali would put up practical passive barriers. As an example out of time and place, you want to smoke week in your own home? Well grow it yourself. I will not facilitate a profit-driven market to encourage and therefore temp vices.

    Why cannot be a part of me be in the right and a part of me on the left...we are so complex.. the world is VUCA...and we sit in contradiction in not identified with any - we may have some freedom to sit in tension between the good and the bad person I am..the left and the right I am as a whole brained person...why do we have to be defined so finely? For whose benefit? ❤Just saying...

    A worthy question asked in a most primitive way at 1.02. I am very interested how Glenn, with all his earned philosophy alkaloids, addresses a hamfisted MIT secular pagan untrained Hellenistic primitive-like neolithic denizen asks the 'big' question. But MadWho talking to himself has to wait. Things to do outside the tiny 4" of personal consciousness. Such a weird thing.
    Guess those debating rationalists and empiricists were on to something.

  • @billnorris8457
    @billnorris8457 3 месяца назад

    At 8.30m. Nick needs to re-read Hayek's short essay on knowledge. The Great Bronze Way of Chicago was 'protected' from the general competition by community knowledge and yes,
    racism. Yes, theoretically racist exclusion harms general economic efficiency. So we all have lower living standards.
    But Booker T correctly factored in the proven experience of other American ethnicities. Shopping black was not a revolutionary or a 'black power' exercise. It was a community/civic economic development program. More akin to rural Americans attempting to shop and support community small businesses. As the incubator that turned Rosenwald from a local shopkeeper into a national Sears department store.
    I do believe Elder Glenn was disconnected from the chalkboard neo-cons due to this consideration. Well if the American black underclass simply did this or that, it would all be solved. Like the rather nasty assumption all challenges of race will eventually be eliminated by superficial genetic mixing. A Babel sort of materialist ideology.
    (Yea, those Biblical Stories actually have unexplainable depth and complexity. Stunningly free of time and space. They are not the shallow scientism myths of Hellenistic materialists self-assumed intellectual/social elites.)

  • @billnorris8457
    @billnorris8457 3 месяца назад

    Oh 13.30 what a nasty question. Yes, Booker T stipulated that his ethnicity was like Mr Varney, driven by French-like sexual appetites. Glenn was a superstar. So subject to far more temptations than the average man. His mother had also been abandoned by his father.
    Glenn is so good-natured. But our cursing Elder still deserves every bite of health-improving and life-sustaining steamed broccoli. Delivered with nothing but love by his beautiful, oft policy deluded, means well Good wife. By self-admission, Glenn's repentance and atonement cycle should be far more strenuous than steamed broccoli in a lovely home delivered by the hand of his loving wife. Thus this difficult self-examination in public. (God does work in mysterious ways :)
    Yea, maybe our cursing Elder deserves the question. ;)

  • @billnorris8457
    @billnorris8457 3 месяца назад

    Ah at 31m the proper question would be the support system in Glenn's life at that time. Which the younger Glenn had torn asunder for himself and his family.
    Again, doubts as to the Divinity of Christ are really just scholasticism. An old sick and in great pain, Ben Franklin took the Presidency of the Abolition League, due to the ethical teachings of Christ. Glenn certainly does not need the notorious acclaim or money of a public self-confession. Interestingly, it does seem from a great afar, that it has repaired and largely restored his relationship with his children. ;) The increasingly important thing as we near our finish.
    BUt, cursing Elder Glenn should not be let off so easily! Decades of steamed broccoli provided by the hand of a loving wife seems more than fair and Just. As Glenn knows, he is getting off easy. Unlike young Gino, Glenn actively seeks out reasons to dismiss possible Blessings. While Gino seeks the good fruit and the path. To find the side of the Golden Rule or Transcendent Ethics God. The only God worthy of paise. Not that God needs our praise at all. That Barth thing again.
    Look in the mirror, repent and try to do better each and every day. ;) Seems completely realistic and logical to me.

    1 of 2: *This is how you always need to vote:*
    We must fully resist and _always vote_ against (& less authoritarian than) both the Republican *and* Democratic Parties- including all of the squad, Bernie Sanders, Edward Markey, the justice democrats, & all other democrats.
    For _all_ public positions. And this same strategy applies against the same one or more party-monopolies in _all_ countries worldwide.
    Real progressives will never be Democratic Members or Democratic loyalists. Never vote for _any_ Republican member or loyalist either.
    You can always _write-in_ an anti-authoritarian person if no candidates for a position fit that bill. This will continuously reduce the power of _all_ authoritarian parties in the party monopolies. Until our task is complete.
    Repeat strategy for all new authoritarian parties that emerge.

    Brilliant mind and with allllll going on the country, outside of the country (St Peters...) on the brink of WIII, live streaming a genocide, etc, et al. And yet THE #1 issue of Black scholars is critiquing Black ppl. With this trope of being an outlier.... feigning as though mavericks, when "Black Conservative" is NOT a new thing and has a long legacy.
