Well i wish the next villain will be like the crystal mutation monster from Final Fantasy XIII. For this one Humans tried to take the relationship with Gem race also making horrible weapons in shadow based on Gem technology to fuel the hatred and prejudice against Gems that exploit Earth many years ago. The weapons like forced hybrid between humans and gems (unlike Steven which he is natural conception with love and tolerance) that creates the L'cie like monstrosity comes from crystal stasis (like C Virus from Resident Evil 6), crazed human leaders, human superweapons based on gem technology, intergalactic group that hates gems, mysterious human-gem hybrid character that has a forgotten past then aside to CG (Crystal Gems) also the Kefka Palazzo esque character that Crystal Gems must encountered. Here is my idea for this video, hope you can reply it ;)

I don’t think of the Diamonds as redeemed. I think that the Diamonds are now on the road to redemption by admitting that what they’ve been doing is wrong, but they aren’t completely forgiven. Kind of like with addiction rehabilitation, they need to go through a period of going through EVERYTHING that they did wrong, apologizing for it without being forgiven or the expectation of forgiveness.They’ve only admitted that there is a problem.
Maybe the Creators of Gemkind are a Metallic Race of Male-Only Aliens[Basically the Opposites of Gem-Kind; they're cold, Calculating, Logical, Unable to be Persuaded; the COMPLETE Antithesis to Steven himself, as well as Gemkind itself]
I must be one of the few people who actually LIKES the fact that the Diamonds are redeemed. In the end; Steven has, once again, proven the old riddle to be true. The best way to defeat an enemy...is to make them your friend. Now, to explain why I'M cool with this; permit me to go into detail why. Personally speaking; while done in a rather short time span, I felt that Steven befriended the Diamonds in a believable way. 1. When we first met Blue; she gave us the impression of someone who's very emotional, cares deeply about Pink and has been consumed with grief for centuries. Even worse is the fact that on Homeworld, under White's authority, she had to force herself into being happy 24/7. She also had to force herself into punishing Pink in the worst of ways, whenever she "acted out of line;" even when she didn't want to. Now, after Steven helped open her eyes to just how much harm than good she did to Pink; Blue Diamond began to question her entire worldview. In the end, she realized how restricted she must've felt on Homeworld and how much freer she must have been on Earth. After fully understanding the reasons for Pink's decisions and the unintended cruelty she caused her and other Gems, Blue gained a new perspective on her "sister" (or whatever relationship the Diamonds have towards each other.) 2. Yellow Diamond, unlike Blue, was never driven by the same kind of emotions. She prided herself on being strong, obedient, loyal and overall, "perfect." She dedicated herself to obeying the laws of her society to the letter and without question. Anytime someone else dared to defy or question how things were done, she'd "discipline" them (as seen in her battle with blue.) All this can be summed up in Yellow's statement to Steven during the aforementioned battle. "This is what White expects of ALL of us! From a thin flake of Mica to the deepest, hardest stone; we all must make sacrifices for the sake of our perfect empire!" For centuries, she acted as though everything MUST be perfect on their world. But then...Steven helped open her eyes to see how her fighting Blue, abusing all of Gemkind, imprisoning him; this was not making things better (let alone perfect.) He helped her understand that if she wiped away all things that are different or "flawed," nothing would stand out or feel special. With all these truths being told and shown to her; her worldview, much like Blue's, was shattered (no pun intended.) This in turn, caused her to finally feel emotions and show how vulnerable she truly was. But Blue didn't think any less of her and neither did Steven. Lastly, we come to White's redemption; one that people are STILL debating on. Much like Yellow, White saw fit in making their whole society "perfect" or "flawless." Doing this meant not only keeping other gems in line but also bending them to her will. From HER rather narrow perspective, this was "cleansing" the other gems of any "flaws" they possessed. The biggest "flaw" she tried to "fix" was removing Pink's gem from Steven's body. This, in her mind, was White's way of "freeing her." But as we've seen, Pink's entire being took on Steven's form. Which symbolizes that Pink is not only gone for good but the fact that HER power is now Steven's. Yet, even after seeing this, White refused to crack. She continued to believe Pink was "acting like a child." To which Steven simply replied "I AM a child, what's YOUR excuse." I'm unsure if it was this phrase or something else that caused it. But after that, Pink's power seemed to course through White's entire ship; freeing everyone trapped under her control. This also caused White's "flawless" self to become "off color," when the pink light washed over her. With her resolve broken, her ideals now in question and now questioning who or what Steven is; White felt lost. She believed she was trying to make everything "better." But Steven helped her understand that things COULD get better. That is...if she allowed other Gems and herself to "just be whoever you are" and come to earth and fix a big issue. After all this, curing the corrupted Gems and seeing how happy Pink (whom she now realized is Steven, a completely different entity) was on earth, she felt happy as well. With all this resolved, the other three Diamonds returned home; possibly intent on changing things back on Homeworld. This is MY view on each of their redemptions. You are welcome to agree or disagree, if you desire to
sadlobster1 Uh, no. Blue didn’t force herself to punish Pink, she just used to lash out on her because she was an emotional abuser and had no idea of empathy. And White wasn’t affected by Pink’s magic, she was just blushing lol
I would personally love the concept of either the government or the people disliking the threat potential of the gems. perhaps finding ways to hurt gems by abusing their technology, turning things like perhaps a harmless part of a centibeetle ship into a weapon, or raiding the strawberry fields for weapons effective against gems. This could be resolved by them also gaining passive advancements (i.e. flight, better power sources, transport) from gem technology, realizing how beneficial ancient gem tech is, and how modern tech could be, and finding a way to work together with gems.
I hope the next Major Villians of the show are who I personally call "The Creators". Think about it, all gems are created from Injectors from the Kindergartens. Well if that's the case, the Diamonds must have been created to, right? Question is, who created them and why? EDIT: In case people are curious, I posted this before he said the creators lol

I was thinking along those lines too. While I don't think the Diamonds are above going after intelligent life and taking over planets that have life in general, I have some doubts that they've always have ran into intelligent life all the time. I've sort of been under the impression that they have taken over planets that have life but not intelligent life, if that makes any sense.
I think that the villain of the movie is an alien who wants revenge on Gemkind after they took over his planet and turned it into a colony and he uses the mysterious new Gem that appears in the teaser as his own personal pawn for his quest for vengeance.
Emerald could be an interesting villain. Maybe she could go against the diamonds new leaf, and go after steven and the crystal gems, and try to get the homeworld gems on her side and join her to battle and maybe the diamonds could have a relapse, since it feels to me like it should happen. If that occurs, that'll be a LOT for Steven to go through. Maybe even get PTSD somehow. And if there's a battle, we can see how it affects the crystal gems and him personally, mentally and emotionally. How they went through craziness to change the diamonds minds and NOW THIS? But hey, that's my theory. A STEVEN UNIVERSE THEORY!

I've had this fan story in my head where the government creates Gallium, a "gem" (gallium is a metal) to be a weapon against Gem kind. It was created by shattering corrupted gems and fusion experiments, grinding them into powder, and mixed into Gallium with a hint of human DNA. Gallium wouldn't have a body made of light, but more Gallium. He's like a grey Venom, but more robotic. He would be controlled against his will, and when freed by Steven, would see Steven as his new master and serve him like how White Diamond's pearl was like, but this time, of his own free will. Because of the human DNA, he would technically be another human gem hybrid, and over time, would become less like a robot and develop a personality. He won't be able to fuse since his body isn't made of light like the others, and has no gem weapon, but instead, shapes his liquid metal body into various weapons to fight with. This character is heavily inspired by Venom, obviously.
My only hopes are: Better choreographed fights *J A S P E R* Someone they really can't redeem Diamond fusions(not just with each other but with normal gems) Steven aging/gem flipping
Technically we do have diamond fusions. I would argue that if the other diamonds were to fuse with regular gems, they would be different variations of Stevens fusions with gems. Now diamonds fusing with diamonds is a different scenario entirely....

Those would be just villains who are evil for evil's sake. I think there would be villains who actually have a tragic past but in their quest for revenge decide there is no turning back for them and just decide to be evil.
What I thought would be really cool is if the new villain was like a “Lex Luthor” kind of character who has an utter hatred for the Crystal Gems and their race but is also incredibly intelligent. Maybe he could orchestrate events to turn humanity against them? In addition, unlike the Diamonds, he won’t be swayed by kind actions or words. After all, although I enjoyed the villains in SU, I didn’t really like how all of them were redeemed by Steven, as I felt it lowered the stakes quite often and cut out a lot of tension and emotion the show could’ve had. I know this is a show primarily for kids, but at least have an important character die or something to give it more grit. I’m not asking for the entire show to be dark and moody, just more dangerous and unpredictable at times. But anyway, the new villain could be an even bigger threat than the Diamonds by doing what Lex actually does in BvS with Doomsday-maybe he could do some crazy experiments that twist a gem into a horrible/incredibly powerful monster or something. Maybe he could make a suit similar to the one Lex has in the comics to take on the Crystal Gems/Diamonds? I don’t know, I guess what I’m trying to say is I think a “Lex Luthor” would fit in really well with this show!
I feel kids need to be exposed to some of that grit dive real life as nice as people try to make it, isn't inherently nice, and that there are people out there that are steadfast in their beliefs. At which point the lesson taught would be that there are times when you must fight, sometimes just to preserve. And like Garnet said in Message Received when Peridot presumedly betrayed Steven not everyone can be swayed at which point you learn tio live and let live, or at the Very least, instill respect in the other party despite not agreeing or being swayed.
I'd definitely be up for the government plot, but I kinda wanna see a new diamond, like mabye black or green diamond, mabye one that's been exiled from homeworld and now that homeworld is changing, sees this as a chance to get revenge

I've always wondered what would happen if the government got involved with Steven and the gems. If they did find out about them I can see them trying to take Steven away. He's never been to school, been around dangerous situations/people, and all that and more is enough for the government to take action in taking a child away. Sure Steven is 15 but in the eyes of the government he is still not an adult so they can get to take him

They’ve recently discovered a gemstone/mineral that was previously only in space. It’s called Carmeltazite. It’s rarer and harder than a diamond, and it was theorized to have been on an asteroid before it was found in the sapphire mines of Mount Carmel, Israel. Maybe Carmeltazite could be the diamonds creator?
I think Emerald could be a good future villain. Also, I think it would be an interesting story arc if the show went with Star Wars/Marvel-like good vs evil war where we see gems of the same class as Emerald rebelling against the Diamonds new lifestyle. This would be a good way to tie up the Emerald plot and also give insight into the higher ranks of gems on Homeworld (e.g. gems 1-2 ranks below the DIamonds).
In "Change Your Mind" Blue Diamond briefly mentions to Pink Diamond about "stopping Kyanite." It might be possible there will be some sort of Male rock version of the female gems that were old enemies of the Diamonds that will reemerge and attempt to colonize Earth, lead by Kyanite.
Please talk about the original crystal gems next time (snowflake, Biggs and crazy lace) in change your mind’s ending there were 3 gems that pearl, garnet and bismuth were so excited to see and a few scenes later u could see them talking to Steven.
I kinda want all of these to happen. It would give us seasons more to watch and they're all valid. Even for the stuff I expect people would be less than pleased by, like the Diamond Relapse idea, they could do some interesting stuff. Like having the Diamonds struggle with their programming and desires and go to Steven and the Crystal Gems for help finding ways to deal with their needs without harming anyone. Maybe finding new ways of making Gems that don't devastate planets or ecosystems. On second thought, I'm going to make a new post underneath this with what I, personally, would want in each of these cases.
Super long post about what I'd like to see regarding each idea, in order. Surviving Alien Races This would be interesting but also very dark. Steven could encounter races that are effectively close to extinct, to the point of being unable to recover from their loss. That's a degree of existential dread that no one should have to deal with. Not to mention having to face the cruelties of genocide. Steven already has to deal with prejudice, segregation, slavery, and the Gem equivalent of eugenics. These would be people Steven either couldn't communicate with, end of story, or people who are unlikely to listen to Steven for a million and one reasons, many of the completely valid. The storyline here would probably revolve around peace talks and the return of colonized planets to its inhabitants, as well as potential conservations efforts. I think it would be a very dark and serious season or two. It would be a very interesting story with some less than pleasant real life parallels. Homeworld Gem Factions I think this, or the setup for this, will be the primary focus of the movie and maybe Season 6. We see Gems in the teaser and they shouldn't be a problem now that the Diamonds have been dealt with. Also, what about Jasper, Emerald, Aquamarine, Topaz, Eyeball, Navy, and Holly Blue Agate? I'd like to know more about them and what happened to them. The way I see it, there are three main outcomes, ignoring the Diamond Relapse scenario: one, the Gems don't receive the update saying that Steven and the Earth are off-limits so they keep going after him; two, the Gems are now rogue Gems going after Steven and/or the Earth against orders; and three, there is a Gem civil war brewing with different factions forming to overthrow the Diamonds and the Gems going after Steven belong to one, or more, of these factions. Potentially, the Crewniverse could do all three of them with different Gems. Emerald could either go rogue or be out of touch with the Diamonds. Jasper could definitely go rogue but I don't think she'd belong to the factions unless there was maybe a soldier faction. Aquamarine is definitely more of a faction type of Gem. I would definitely like to see the civil war storyline since there's just so much potential there and the setup is mostly already done. After all, other than Pearl, none of the Crystal Gems knew Rose was Pink Diamond. They were all genuinely fighting and revolting against the Diamond Authority. And if they wanted to revolt, why couldn't other Gems want the same? The Human Government Here's an interesting one. Like the Alien Races idea, it has a ton of potential to be dark but I also think it has a lot of potential to be very heartwarming. It would bring the Townies front and center as humans who constantly have to deal with Gems and they would more than likely go out of their way to defend and shelter the Gems. Not to mention it would be a great opportunity to watch the formerly Corrupted Gems interact with humans and learn more about their new home. As they were maybe getting jobs, trying food, learning how to garden or fix things, or maybe making friends, the human government would come looking. Since Steven Universe (the show) seems pretty focused on no-villains-just-people-of-all-walks-of-life, you could have government officials maybe catch a healed Gem offguard, making them panic and maybe display some remnants of their time when they were corrupted. It could be a misunderstanding that grows and grows until people are trying to regulate Gems or discussing their personhood. I think that the Townies, and Connie especially, could play important roles in this particular act defending and explaining Gems to humans. Diamond Relapse I've already talked a bit about this up top but here's some stuff relating to the Diamonds but not necessarily to the relapse part. Now that the Diamonds have come face-to-face with the reality that their system doesn't work, or at least doesn't work as well as they thought it did, they have a few choices: fix it or don't. So let's talk about the not-fixing-it idea. Let's say they decide not to fix their society. Maybe most Gems really do better in this society other than a few outliers and Offcolours. What then? I doubt they'll just keep going as they have but they could offer to transfer these outliers to places better suited for them. Such as Earth. But what about fixing it? That could be interesting too. There could be an entire arc devoted just to how to fix Homeworld to prevent suffering of all kinds on all levels. The Creator of Gem-Kind There's so much potential here, I don't even know where to start. What if the Creators are still out there? What if they aren't? What if their descendants are out there? What do the Gems think of their Creators? Do most Gems even know about the Creators? What if the Creators are the ancestors of humans? That last one was an idea I had years ago for a fic. I doubt it but it would be an interesting twist. What would the Creators do? What would their role be? What impact would their mere existence/presence have on the Gems? And what about ancient Gems, precursors or prototypes of existing Gems? What is the history of Gemkind? Are they purely artificial or were they once biological? Or were they based off of something biological? So many questions, so much potential, and nothing concrete to work with. Yet.

Personely, I would like the Government and Gem Factions. Both other races and the Creators just seem like really endgame material, and I don't think were there just yet. Here's how I think each scenario would turn out. Other Races I'm pretty sure any race in opposition to the gems would consider this a good time to strike. The Authority just fought each other and Homeworld is sure to be in chaos. They would attack Homeworld fairly soon, possibly already attacking after the authority left. Neverless, the diamonds are sure to take a lot of damage. They'll probably ingnore Earth, assuming they're a bunch of Gems on a mostly well defended planet. If they do come (and they will) they're gonna think that the gems are attempting to colonize the planet. When they discover the humans are allied with the gems they will either: A: leave them alone with a warning, but, Steven will try to help the Diamonds anyway, angering them B: attack the gems regardless, not caring who steps in their way C: declare war on humanity aswell, leading to Steven deciding between staying to help Earth or helping the Diamonds. Interesting to see what the uncorrupted gems would do. The aliens could realize that steven is a half gem half human and try to replicate him could be a really interestin option too. Gem factions Not sure what to do with this. Obviously, the Diamond fight could really cause turmoil in Homeworld. I figure the gems could end up in three groups fighting for for control. Aristocratic: the gems on top obviously wouldn't want to give up their position, so they would fight. I'm not even sure they want to continue colonizing, they just want to maintain their status. Soldiers: a group focusing on the empires power, and believe the Diamonds would cause Homeworld to grow weak, so they rebel. Not much to say. Lower class: the pebbles, the mission controlled, the off color, all of them would probably realize with the factions forming, they can gain control and maybe believe the Diamonds would reverse to their old ways, so they try to seize power. In any case, this would be a good way to bring back gems like Emerald, Aquamarine and Topaz as leaders of their respective factions. I believe at least the soldier faction will try to come after Steven for starting the new changes. The Government I don't even know how this would work, you summed up everything I could think of. Diamond Relapse Ditto The Creators I don't even know why they would even attack, maybe they just don't like the new rules, or most likely, they are angery at White (I assume neither yellow or blue would know) for making the gems believe she was the greatest being. They would probably A: just try and dicipline the gems, which would lead to resistance and then war. B: overthrow the Authority and place themselves as the leaders, again leading to war C: they could try to destroy all gems and replace them with another race, possibly metals. I do beleive this is the most interesting and would like to see this actually happen. If and when they discover Steven, they may consider him an abomination and try to eradicate him and possibly Connie, because she fused with Steven. Or they may believe that he is superior to other gems and tey to to create hybrids with other races.
@@carlosdavidg7 So many ideas and possibilities, am I right? I do agree that the Other Races and the Creators seem more like endgame material, unless the Creators never make much of an in-person appearance, in which case they could be built up over the course of a couple seasons only to culminate in some interesting Gem history. I hope more people join this conversation. I'd love to see more ideas and perspectives on these ideas.
I vote for the Creator of Gem Kind idea as the next antagonist. We have no idea how the Gems came into existence. So, who knows what their possible creator is like. He/She/It could be just like how White Diamond was, in terms of personality...but amped up to 10,000
I had an idea about a group of Homeworld gems rebelling against the new status quo and also wanting revenge on Steven led by the heart Gem from the movie, consisting of Emerald, Aquamarine, Holly Blue, Eyeball & Yellow Zircon.
I got the impression that wherever White came from, the rest of the gems stemmed from her. She talked about the other diamonds like they were part of her, and said she was "spreading her light". I feel like she created Blue and Yellow, Blue and Yellow created smaller gems and so on. Especially since the extraction chambers are used in this.
So what if White Diamond had a sister (or a brother whatever works for you) and her name is Black Diamond!! Black abandoned White but because they were both so lonely they started to create other diamonds. White created Yellow and Blue and eventually Pink, while Black created Red Diamond, Aqua Diamond, Violet Diamond, and Turquoise Diamond!!! Also, nobody else knows about this except for White and Black. Rebecca Sugar, I think you can take it from here. (Wow I’m 12 years old I don’t have a RUclips channel and I came up with that!)
This what I've hoping for as well. Another diamond authority but in my case Black left because she had different views causing them to fight. Black went on to another planet and created her own homeworld and proceeded to create her own gems and Diamonds, Orange, Purple and Violet which are diamond colors that occur naturally like White's diamond kids/authority.
(Sorry for my bad English sikll...) Diamonds have more colony so... maybe there's more gem hybrid like steven on another planet? But not like steven thay are bad And M.G (Mystery Girl) finally get inside major storyline to help the Crystal gems!!
If their were factions, I can see Lapis/Peridot leading the hippieGem faction, Jasper redeemed/her leading an Independent Gem faction where their still following some of Homeworld's ways, but doing their own thing still. Idk lol
What if there was a way to take the shattered remains of a Gem & fill the Shards with another substance to have it artificially refill the missing parts of it's full form, but at the price of having it be like some kind of Zombie-like entity, a Faux-Gem if you will, and what if someone raise an army of these Zombie-like Faux Gems, the Gems could end up facing a Zombie Apocalypse.
If the Gem Creator story comes to pass, I wonder if they would be able to find a way to deal with irredeemable characters. White Diamond served as a metaphor for controlling/abusive parents, and there are abusive parents (people with a severe cluster B personality disorder, for example) who are so sick they can never be changed. Steven may need to decide to take a course of action where all of gem-kind have to do the kindest thing and disarm the creator(s) or banish them. Not all toxic people can be changed. Not all abusers can be redeemed.
honestly, all of your options make so much sense omg and I'm positive one of them is going to actually happen!~ I'd really want to see the rose quartz that were bubbled become a threat though. After their kind were falsely blamed for killing a diamond and they were all punished, I'm sure there must be a few that were angry. Maybe they could join in with the gems that oppose the new changes on home world.
They will be no villains cause the diamonds are redeemed so there a possibility no villains. But other homeworld gems that refused to be good so they will be good or evil gems.
I mean, we already have emerald, plus she was seeking out the sun incinerator in jungle moon (sun incinerator was last on earth) so the next arc could be emerald looking for Lars and the off colors and the sun incinerator so she can put them on trial, maybe? Who knows, all we know is emerald is still out there, or maybe we’ll even get to see hessonite for the first time in the series (aside from save the light)
See, this is something I've been thinking about: what about if the Gems were always at war with a race of sentient metals? Maybe they can be male-coded or not, whatever on that, but I think that fighting against Platinum, Gold, Silver, Mercury, Tungsten, Iron, Lead, etc would be fun! One hang up, though, is that Bismuth isn't technically a gem. Chemically speaking, the element Bismuth is a metal. And that could be the case for other Gems. So maybe some of the "gems" are shared with the Metals? I dunno, but, even if this sort of mostly-opposite warring races thing gets used a lot, I think that it would be a neat idea for, like, an actual final season or something.

Hey Roundtable, Let's have the villain of the movie (Red Diamond?) be the new atagonist of the show! Maybe also having the Homeworld civil war between the Changers (gems that are loyal to the diamonds and agree for change) and the Retainers (gems that want to keep the current caste system), and having the villain/new Diamond be the leader of the Retainers. How I see this go down is the new villain (possible Red Diamond), fights and convinces the diamonds to not change. The other Diamonds (White, Yellow, and Blue) agree and switch sides and keep the current status of gems. The Changers, feeling betrayed, switch sides and join the Crystal Gems, thus starting ANOTHER WAR WITH THE CRYSTAL GEMS!

For this one Humans tried to take the relationship with Gem race also making horrible weapons in shadow based on Gem technology to fuel the hatred and prejudice against Gems that exploit Earth many years ago. The weapons like forced hybrid between humans and gems (unlike Steven which he is natural conception with love and tolerance) that creates the L'cie like monstrosity comes from crystal stasis (like C Virus from Resident Evil 6), crazed human leaders, human superweapons based on gem technology, intergalactic group that hates gems, mysterious human-gem hybrid character that has a forgotten past then aside to CG (Crystal Gems) also the Kefka Palazzo esque character that Crystal Gems must encountered.

I don’t think of the Diamonds as redeemed. I think that the Diamonds are now on the road to redemption by admitting that what they’ve been doing is wrong, but they aren’t completely forgiven. Kind of like with addiction rehabilitation, they need to go through a period of going through EVERYTHING that they did wrong, apologizing for it without being forgiven or the expectation of forgiveness.They’ve only admitted that there is a problem.

I must be one of the few people who actually LIKES the fact that the Diamonds are redeemed. In the end; Steven has, once again, proven the old riddle to be true.
The best way to defeat an enemy...is to make them your friend.
Now, to explain why I'M cool with this; permit me to go into detail why. Personally speaking; while done in a rather short time span, I felt that Steven befriended the Diamonds in a believable way.
1. When we first met Blue; she gave us the impression of someone who's very emotional, cares deeply about Pink and has been consumed with grief for centuries. Even worse is the fact that on Homeworld, under White's authority, she had to force herself into being happy 24/7.
She also had to force herself into punishing Pink in the worst of ways, whenever she "acted out of line;" even when she didn't want to.
Now, after Steven helped open her eyes to just how much harm than good she did to Pink; Blue Diamond began to question her entire worldview. In the end, she realized how restricted she must've felt on Homeworld and how much freer she must have been on Earth.
After fully understanding the reasons for Pink's decisions and the unintended cruelty she caused her and other Gems, Blue gained a new perspective on her "sister" (or whatever relationship the Diamonds have towards each other.)
2. Yellow Diamond, unlike Blue, was never driven by the same kind of emotions. She prided herself on being strong, obedient, loyal and overall, "perfect." She dedicated herself to obeying the laws of her society to the letter and without question. Anytime someone else dared to defy or question how things were done, she'd "discipline" them (as seen in her battle with blue.)
All this can be summed up in Yellow's statement to Steven during the aforementioned battle. "This is what White expects of ALL of us! From a thin flake of Mica to the deepest, hardest stone; we all must make sacrifices for the sake of our perfect empire!" For centuries, she acted as though everything MUST be perfect on their world.
But then...Steven helped open her eyes to see how her fighting Blue, abusing all of Gemkind, imprisoning him; this was not making things better (let alone perfect.) He helped her understand that if she wiped away all things that are different or "flawed," nothing would stand out or feel special.
With all these truths being told and shown to her; her worldview, much like Blue's, was shattered (no pun intended.) This in turn, caused her to finally feel emotions and show how vulnerable she truly was. But Blue didn't think any less of her and neither did Steven.
Lastly, we come to White's redemption; one that people are STILL debating on. Much like Yellow, White saw fit in making their whole society "perfect" or "flawless." Doing this meant not only keeping other gems in line but also bending them to her will. From HER rather narrow perspective, this was "cleansing" the other gems of any "flaws" they possessed.
The biggest "flaw" she tried to "fix" was removing Pink's gem from Steven's body. This, in her mind, was White's way of "freeing her." But as we've seen, Pink's entire being took on Steven's form. Which symbolizes that Pink is not only gone for good but the fact that HER power is now Steven's.
Yet, even after seeing this, White refused to crack. She continued to believe Pink was "acting like a child." To which Steven simply replied "I AM a child, what's YOUR excuse." I'm unsure if it was this phrase or something else that caused it.
But after that, Pink's power seemed to course through White's entire ship; freeing everyone trapped under her control. This also caused White's "flawless" self to become "off color," when the pink light washed over her.
With her resolve broken, her ideals now in question and now questioning who or what Steven is; White felt lost. She believed she was trying to make everything "better." But Steven helped her understand that things COULD get better.
That is...if she allowed other Gems and herself to "just be whoever you are" and come to earth and fix a big issue. After all this, curing the corrupted Gems and seeing how happy Pink (whom she now realized is Steven, a completely different entity) was on earth, she felt happy as well.
With all this resolved, the other three Diamonds returned home; possibly intent on changing things back on Homeworld.

I would personally love the concept of either the government or the people disliking the threat potential of the gems. perhaps finding ways to hurt gems by abusing their technology, turning things like perhaps a harmless part of a centibeetle ship into a weapon, or raiding the strawberry fields for weapons effective against gems. This could be resolved by them also gaining passive advancements (i.e. flight, better power sources, transport) from gem technology, realizing how beneficial ancient gem tech is, and how modern tech could be, and finding a way to work together with gems.

I was thinking along those lines too. While I don't think the Diamonds are above going after intelligent life and taking over planets that have life in general, I have some doubts that they've always have ran into intelligent life all the time. I've sort of been under the impression that they have taken over planets that have life but not intelligent life, if that makes any sense.
I think that the villain of the movie is an alien who wants revenge on Gemkind after they took over his planet and turned it into a colony and he uses the mysterious new Gem that appears in the teaser as his own personal pawn for his quest for vengeance.

Emerald could be an interesting villain. Maybe she could go against the diamonds new leaf, and go after steven and the crystal gems, and try to get the homeworld gems on her side and join her to battle and maybe the diamonds could have a relapse, since it feels to me like it should happen.
If that occurs, that'll be a LOT for Steven to go through. Maybe even get PTSD somehow. And if there's a battle, we can see how it affects the crystal gems and him personally, mentally and emotionally. How they went through craziness to change the diamonds minds and NOW THIS?

BLACK PEARL!!!! for those of you who don't know, there is a comic going around about pink pearl that a RUclips channel "princely" does voices for and it is really good. That's what i am referring too
I've had this fan story in my head where the government creates Gallium, a "gem" (gallium is a metal) to be a weapon against Gem kind. It was created by shattering corrupted gems and fusion experiments, grinding them into powder, and mixed into Gallium with a hint of human DNA. Gallium wouldn't have a body made of light, but more Gallium. He's like a grey Venom, but more robotic. He would be controlled against his will, and when freed by Steven, would see Steven as his new master and serve him like how White Diamond's pearl was like, but this time, of his own free will. Because of the human DNA, he would technically be another human gem hybrid, and over time, would become less like a robot and develop a personality. He won't be able to fuse since his body isn't made of light like the others, and has no gem weapon, but instead, shapes his liquid metal body into various weapons to fight with. This character is heavily inspired by Venom, obviously.

What I thought would be really cool is if the new villain was like a “Lex Luthor” kind of character who has an utter hatred for the Crystal Gems and their race but is also incredibly intelligent. Maybe he could orchestrate events to turn humanity against them? In addition, unlike the Diamonds, he won’t be swayed by kind actions or words. After all, although I enjoyed the villains in SU, I didn’t really like how all of them were redeemed by Steven, as I felt it lowered the stakes quite often and cut out a lot of tension and emotion the show could’ve had. I know this is a show primarily for kids, but at least have an important character die or something to give it more grit. I’m not asking for the entire show to be dark and moody, just more dangerous and unpredictable at times.
But anyway, the new villain could be an even bigger threat than the Diamonds by doing what Lex actually does in BvS with Doomsday-maybe he could do some crazy experiments that twist a gem into a horrible/incredibly powerful monster or something. Maybe he could make a suit similar to the one Lex has in the comics to take on the Crystal Gems/Diamonds? I don’t know, I guess what I’m trying to say is I think a “Lex Luthor” would fit in really well with this show!
I feel kids need to be exposed to some of that grit dive real life as nice as people try to make it, isn't inherently nice, and that there are people out there that are steadfast in their beliefs. At which point the lesson taught would be that there are times when you must fight, sometimes just to preserve. And like Garnet said in Message Received when Peridot presumedly betrayed Steven not everyone can be swayed at which point you learn tio live and let live, or at the Very least, instill respect in the other party despite not agreeing or being swayed.

He's never been to school, been around dangerous situations/people, and all that and more is enough for the government to take action in taking a child away. They’ve recently discovered a gemstone/mineral that was previously only in space. It’s called Carmeltazite. It’s rarer and harder than a diamond, and it was theorized to have been on an asteroid before it was found in the sapphire mines of Mount Carmel, Israel. Maybe Carmeltazite could be the diamonds creator?

I think Emerald could be a good future villain. Also, I think it would be an interesting story arc if the show went with Star Wars/Marvel-like good vs evil war where we see gems of the same class as Emerald rebelling against the Diamonds new lifestyle. This would be a good way to tie up the Emerald plot and also give insight into the higher ranks of gems on Homeworld (e.g. gems 1-2 ranks below the DIamonds).
I think the new villain might be Emerald.
And Hessonite?
In "Change Your Mind" Blue Diamond briefly mentions to Pink Diamond about "stopping Kyanite." It might be possible there will be some sort of Male rock version of the female gems that were old enemies of the Diamonds that will reemerge and attempt to colonize Earth, lead by Kyanite.
Please talk about the original crystal gems next time (snowflake, Biggs and crazy lace) in change your mind’s ending there were 3 gems that pearl, garnet and bismuth were so excited to see and a few scenes later u could see them talking to Steven.
Jasper: "I am going to get back at you for shattering my diamond."
Steven: "We're going to laugh about this some day."
I kinda want all of these to happen. It would give us seasons more to watch and they're all valid. Even for the stuff I expect people would be less than pleased by, like the Diamond Relapse idea, they could do some interesting stuff.
Like having the Diamonds struggle with their programming and desires and go to Steven and the Crystal Gems for help finding ways to deal with their needs without harming anyone. Maybe finding new ways of making Gems that don't devastate planets or ecosystems.
On second thought, I'm going to make a new post underneath this with what I, personally, would want in each of these cases.
Super long post about what I'd like to see regarding each idea, in order.
Surviving Alien Races
This would be interesting but also very dark. Steven could encounter races that are effectively close to extinct, to the point of being unable to recover from their loss. That's a degree of existential dread that no one should have to deal with.
Not to mention having to face the cruelties of genocide. Steven already has to deal with prejudice, segregation, slavery, and the Gem equivalent of eugenics.
These would be people Steven either couldn't communicate with, end of story, or people who are unlikely to listen to Steven for a million and one reasons, many of the completely valid.
The storyline here would probably revolve around peace talks and the return of colonized planets to its inhabitants, as well as potential conservations efforts. I think it would be a very dark and serious season or two.
It would be a very interesting story with some less than pleasant real life parallels.
Homeworld Gem Factions
I think this, or the setup for this, will be the primary focus of the movie and maybe Season 6. We see Gems in the teaser and they shouldn't be a problem now that the Diamonds have been dealt with. Also, what about Jasper, Emerald, Aquamarine, Topaz, Eyeball, Navy, and Holly Blue Agate? I'd like to know more about them and what happened to them.
The way I see it, there are three main outcomes, ignoring the Diamond Relapse scenario: one, the Gems don't receive the update saying that Steven and the Earth are off-limits so they keep going after him; two, the Gems are now rogue Gems going after Steven and/or the Earth against orders; and three, there is a Gem civil war brewing with different factions forming to overthrow the Diamonds and the Gems going after Steven belong to one, or more, of these factions.
Potentially, the Crewniverse could do all three of them with different Gems. Emerald could either go rogue or be out of touch with the Diamonds. Jasper could definitely go rogue but I don't think she'd belong to the factions unless there was maybe a soldier faction. Aquamarine is definitely more of a faction type of Gem.
I would definitely like to see the civil war storyline since there's just so much potential there and the setup is mostly already done. After all, other than Pearl, none of the Crystal Gems knew Rose was Pink Diamond. They were all genuinely fighting and revolting against the Diamond Authority. And if they wanted to revolt, why couldn't other Gems want the same?
The Human Government
Here's an interesting one. Like the Alien Races idea, it has a ton of potential to be dark but I also think it has a lot of potential to be very heartwarming. It would bring the Townies front and center as humans who constantly have to deal with Gems and they would more than likely go out of their way to defend and shelter the Gems. Not to mention it would be a great opportunity to watch the formerly Corrupted Gems interact with humans and learn more about their new home.
As they were maybe getting jobs, trying food, learning how to garden or fix things, or maybe making friends, the human government would come looking. Since Steven Universe (the show) seems pretty focused on no-villains-just-people-of-all-walks-of-life, you could have government officials maybe catch a healed Gem offguard, making them panic and maybe display some remnants of their time when they were corrupted.
It could be a misunderstanding that grows and grows until people are trying to regulate Gems or discussing their personhood. I think that the Townies, and Connie especially, could play important roles in this particular act defending and explaining Gems to humans.
Diamond Relapse
I've already talked a bit about this up top but here's some stuff relating to the Diamonds but not necessarily to the relapse part. Now that the Diamonds have come face-to-face with the reality that their system doesn't work, or at least doesn't work as well as they thought it did, they have a few choices: fix it or don't.
So let's talk about the not-fixing-it idea. Let's say they decide not to fix their society. Maybe most Gems really do better in this society other than a few outliers and Offcolours. What then? I doubt they'll just keep going as they have but they could offer to transfer these outliers to places better suited for them. Such as Earth.
But what about fixing it? That could be interesting too. There could be an entire arc devoted just to how to fix Homeworld to prevent suffering of all kinds on all levels.
The Creator of Gem-Kind
There's so much potential here, I don't even know where to start. What if the Creators are still out there? What if they aren't? What if their descendants are out there? What do the Gems think of their Creators? Do most Gems even know about the Creators? What if the Creators are the ancestors of humans?
That last one was an idea I had years ago for a fic. I doubt it but it would be an interesting twist.
What would the Creators do? What would their role be? What impact would their mere existence/presence have on the Gems? And what about ancient Gems, precursors or prototypes of existing Gems? What is the history of Gemkind? Are they purely artificial or were they once biological? Or were they based off of something biological?
So many questions, so much potential, and nothing concrete to work with.

Personely, I would like the Government and Gem Factions.
Both other races and the Creators just seem like really endgame material, and I don't think were there just yet.
Here's how I think each scenario would turn out.
Other Races
I'm pretty sure any race in opposition to the gems would consider this a good time to strike. The Authority just fought each other and Homeworld is sure to be in chaos. They would attack Homeworld fairly soon, possibly already attacking after the authority left. Neverless, the diamonds are sure to take a lot of damage. They'll probably ingnore Earth, assuming they're a bunch of Gems on a mostly well defended planet. If they do come (and they will) they're gonna think that the gems are attempting to colonize the planet. When they discover the humans are allied with the gems they will either:
A: leave them alone with a warning, but, Steven will try to help the Diamonds anyway, angering them
B: attack the gems regardless, not caring who steps in their way
C: declare war on humanity aswell, leading to Steven deciding between staying to help Earth or helping the Diamonds. Interesting to see what the uncorrupted gems would do. The aliens could realize that steven is a half gem half human and try to replicate him could be a really interestin option too.
Gem factions
Not sure what to do with this. Obviously, the Diamond fight could really cause turmoil in Homeworld. I figure the gems could end up in three groups fighting for for control.
Aristocratic: the gems on top obviously wouldn't want to give up their position, so they would fight. I'm not even sure they want to continue colonizing, they just want to maintain their status.
Soldiers: a group focusing on the empires power, and believe the Diamonds would cause Homeworld to grow weak, so they rebel. Not much to say.
Lower class: the pebbles, the mission controlled, the off color, all of them would probably realize with the factions forming, they can gain control and maybe believe the Diamonds would reverse to their old ways, so they try to seize power. In any case, this would be a good way to bring back gems like Emerald, Aquamarine and Topaz as leaders of their respective factions. I believe at least the soldier faction will try to come after Steven for starting the new changes.

I don't even know why they would even attack, maybe they just don't like the new rules, or most likely, they are angery at White (I assume neither yellow or blue would know) for making the gems believe she was the greatest being. They would probably
A: just try and dicipline the gems, which would lead to resistance and then war.
B: overthrow the Authority and place themselves as the leaders, again leading to war
C: they could try to destroy all gems and replace them with another race, possibly metals. I do beleive this is the most interesting and would like to see this actually happen. If and when they discover Steven, they may consider him an abomination and try to eradicate him and possibly Connie, because she fused with Steven. Or they may believe that he is superior to other gems and tey to to create hybrids with other races.
@@carlosdavidg7 So many ideas and possibilities, am I right? I do agree that the Other Races and the Creators seem more like endgame material, unless the Creators never make much of an in-person appearance, in which case they could be built up over the course of a couple seasons only to culminate in some interesting Gem history.
I hope more people join this conversation. I'd love to see more ideas and perspectives on these ideas.

We have no idea how the Gems came into existence. So, who knows what their possible creator is like. He/She/It could be just like how White Diamond was, in terms of personality...but amped up to 10,000

I had an idea about a group of Homeworld gems rebelling against the new status quo and also wanting revenge on Steven led by the heart Gem from the movie, consisting of Emerald, Aquamarine, Holly Blue, Eyeball & Yellow Zircon.

I got the impression that wherever White came from, the rest of the gems stemmed from her. She talked about the other diamonds like they were part of her, and said she was "spreading her light". I feel like she created Blue and Yellow, Blue and Yellow created smaller gems and so on. Especially since the extraction chambers are used in this.
So what if White Diamond had a sister (or a brother whatever works for you) and her name is Black Diamond!! Black abandoned White but because they were both so lonely they started to create other diamonds. White created Yellow and Blue and eventually Pink, while Black created Red Diamond, Aqua Diamond, Violet Diamond, and Turquoise Diamond!!! Also, nobody else knows about this except for White and Black. Rebecca Sugar, I think you can take it from here. (Wow I’m 12 years old I don’t have a RUclips channel and I came up with that!)
This what I've hoping for as well. Another diamond authority but in my case Black left because she had different views causing them to fight. Black went on to another planet and created her own homeworld and proceeded to create her own gems and Diamonds, Orange, Purple and Violet which are diamond colors that occur naturally like White's diamond kids/authority.
What if they are the counterpart of known gems, so they are all males and are super cold so Steven will have to fight.

The earth government makes more sense to me and the creator or creator's.
What if there was a way to take the shattered remains of a Gem & fill the Shards with another substance to have it artificially refill the missing parts of it's full form, but at the price of having it be like some kind of Zombie-like entity, a Faux-Gem if you will, and what if someone raise an army of these Zombie-like Faux Gems, the Gems could end up facing a Zombie Apocalypse.

If the Gem Creator story comes to pass, I wonder if they would be able to find a way to deal with irredeemable characters. White Diamond served as a metaphor for controlling/abusive parents, and there are abusive parents (people with a severe cluster B personality disorder, for example) who are so sick they can never be changed. Steven may need to decide to take a course of action where all of gem-kind have to do the kindest thing and disarm the creator(s) or banish them. Not all toxic people can be changed. Not all abusers can be redeemed.
I'd really like the reaction of human governments to all this. I'm a sucker for culture shocks in fiction.
I'd like to see ALL FOUR happen!! Such a story for more years to come!! And soooooo much more potential!!

I'd really want to see the rose quartz that were bubbled become a threat though. After their kind were falsely blamed for killing a diamond and they were all punished, I'm sure there must be a few that were angry. Maybe they could join in with the gems that oppose the new changes on home world.
They will be no villains cause the diamonds are redeemed so there a possibility no villains. But other homeworld gems that refused to be good so they will be good or evil gems.

I mean, we already have emerald, plus she was seeking out the sun incinerator in jungle moon (sun incinerator was last on earth) so the next arc could be emerald looking for Lars and the off colors and the sun incinerator so she can put them on trial, maybe? Who knows, all we know is emerald is still out there, or maybe we’ll even get to see hessonite for the first time in the series (aside from save the light)

See, this is something I've been thinking about: what about if the Gems were always at war with a race of sentient metals? Maybe they can be male-coded or not, whatever on that, but I think that fighting against Platinum, Gold, Silver, Mercury, Tungsten, Iron, Lead, etc would be fun! One hang up, though, is that Bismuth isn't technically a gem. Chemically speaking, the element Bismuth is a metal. And that could be the case for other Gems. So maybe some of the "gems" are shared with the Metals? I dunno, but, even if this sort of mostly-opposite warring races thing gets used a lot, I think that it would be a neat idea for, like, an actual final season or something.

Hey Roundtable, Let's have the villain of the movie (Red Diamond?) be the new atagonist of the show! Maybe also having the Homeworld civil war between the Changers (gems that are loyal to the diamonds and agree for change) and the Retainers (gems that want to keep the current caste system), and having the villain/new Diamond be the leader of the Retainers. How I see this go down is the new villain (possible Red Diamond), fights and convinces the diamonds to not change. The other Diamonds (White, Yellow, and Blue) agree and switch sides and keep the current status of gems. The Changers, feeling betrayed, switch sides and join the Crystal Gems, thus starting ANOTHER WAR WITH THE CRYSTAL GEMS!
But what's the point if they'll all be redeemed in like two episodes and have their actions swept under the rug?
I think having 2 or more of his scenarios would be awesome. Each would play into the other and create a whole new level to the series.
