I think the toughest element for newcomers to live electronic music is that the majority of people don’t understand how the actions of the DJ translate to the sounds coming from the speakers. Fred again cuts through that boundary by not only having a piano and midi devices that you can watch him perform on, but his visuals also solve that problem by putting real context to the vocal samples (which usually nobody sees in EDM).
@@kirkydaturkey I love that so much about his work. It feels so real and the visuals with the vocal samples make it easy to understand for people who are new to electronic music. Fred is the artist we needed to help bridge the gap between good electronic music and more mainstream stuff. Hopefully this gets even more people onboard! I’m such a massive fan
I never heard of him, I went to the Gorge in Washington to see Rufas and he opened up for them. I gotta say it was one of the most momentual, beautiful, just such a life changing art show delivered through beautiful music. Thank you Fred...I found you
I agree only recently discovered him via Brian Eno & the latest Four Tet release who I've followed since collecting Boards of Canada vinyl & Warp Records back catalogue...Fred is a genius - definitely one of US !!
Listening to this in 2024 and it captures COVID and the whole vibe of that time in history for me. The melancholy, solitary, introspection about relationships with people you love. Glad this guy made this beautiful art during that weird era.
@@zabears2408 You're a lucky man getting to see Fred @ the gorge!!! I missed Chi Town tickets by 12 minutes because I was undecided on spending the cash. Definitely should have just sent it.
Okay I'm a pretty old guy but no music has ever made me feel more alive than Fred... He just gets to something deep and meaningful and valuable inside in a way that no other music does! Big ups to Fred Again and the future of music y'all!!!
why people love fred...his songs and tracks touch the people that are full of anxiety.. there so funky .and amazing and based on the true facts of life ..they pull you from that dark horrible place and bring joy to tho's suffering ...thanks for the happy smiles . keep smashing it fred
Yo this music is soo pure I am going through a rough time right now and I am speechless how his music can bring me back to center and realize the little things in life
I get chills watching any performance from this man, whether that be a live show or a session in his studio. Truly already a generational talent in the music industry, can’t wait till the day I get to see him live
Thank you for publishing this, I was at this concert and it was the most astonishing night ever. Watching this video made me tear up a few times, Fred is just incredible to witness live. Would recommend this to anyone ❤
It's such an amazing set, too many emotions... I'm seeing him in London next month, traveling from France cause I couldn't get tickets for Paris concert, but omg I can not wait. It's gonna be a beautiful moment! Glad you had a good time there Naomi 🦋🙏🏼
The lighting here is beautiful. The balance between big atmospheric fixtures and sharp, more practical light is just on point, plus the way they manage to get so much variation with only a single color at a time and white
Fred again.. is awesome. I think Fred’s music is amazing. No other new music has captured me like his has. I’m a huge fan now. Thank you for sharing this footage with us.
I wanted to go and see him live this tour but was too late the get the tickets in Europe - you're a legend for sharing this in such good quality. Thank you!
Thanks for uploading! I saw him at his SF show and I’ve been trying to relive it ever since! This is the best recording I’ve come across! Perfect view!
This was an hour long video I thought I was just gonna skip through fast but it was so mesmerizing it just sucked me in. Beautiful performance and absolute W crowd.
Dude thank you for recording this, legendary set up probably on of the best fan made videos I’ve ever seen, for real. May it live long and prosper plz Fred never let this get taken down.
Fuck man just 3 minute's into this set and I'm crying in an open plan office.... "I was outside my mind and I found you, and I know I won't let go" ... 6 years on and we have two beautiful baby girls and I'm so happy and at peace... love is the answer, thank you Fred
The Guy should do a collab with Odesza, chet porter, Jai Wolf, petit biscuit, mome, Hayden James and many more, this can bring great stuff with all this gods of the sound
1:04:50 stopping the momentum in its tracks just like the chap at the Boiler Room set was a fantastic way to deliver this song! Its these tiny aspects that make Fred Again so special!
I've just rewatched Fred's interview with Zane Lowe where he speaks about this moment. The guy's name is Rodney and Fred's take on it is just the epitome of him as a human being and why his music touches and connects with people in the way it does. Watch it if you haven't already. 👍🏻
I was on on the 3rd deck and man the energy was infectious. Constantly spinning this album and the Boiler Room!! Magical night!! And after the show a DJ showed up with speakers and led a whole crowd through NYC 😂
but the yellow shirt guy didn't touch the console, I dunno how it was stopped. poor guy, he felt bad afterward, and Fred consoled him to get back in action...

I think why people love Fred is because he's not just a DJ, his work is refreshing art delivered in a way that encapsulates a range of feelings.

Yes!!!! The world needs more good, organic, genuine quality music. We need more elation. Saw in his concert grown men in tears.
This is like art, it’s a new way and a whole different approach to make music. I see him being a generation talent.
Yes. It is ART, pure and simple
Well it isn't really new. This current UK house wave is more revival than revolution. How old are you ?
