- This is a quick review about the Pioneer DJ new 2-channel mixer, DJM-450. Soon, I will make a video about the send/return effects with an iPad/iOS device, the USB functionalities (e.g. recording from USB, like in this video), and son on.

Question: Can these effects be used if im a vinyl record DJ, or its only when you have file music from computer?

I have this mixer and I love it. I use this mixer with denon ds 1 dvs interface and plays with serato great, no issues so far
how is the crossfader? The cut distance/space is short or long? In the video seemed to be like 2mm or so, right?

@@LAZYSUNDAY Not suitable for super-pro scratchers, which is not my case. For general use the crossfader is absolutely fine.

Yes, it is. You have to set "external mixer" mode inside Traktor, then route channels inside the mixer.
Do you need cdjs or controller to used a mixer o no. Or it can be used only with a laptop and virtual dj???
Hey do the effects really works that way? I mean the bassline did not affected by the effect you use?

@@alfgui wow bro, that was an lightning fast answer cheers... So the thing is I'm playing Vinyl, BPM detection only works when I play digital? (like traktor, or rekordbox) - OR - is it my Job knowing what BPM I'm playing and then use the tap for adjustment? Either way i don't get the counting system... i.e. Echo Filter: I tap, then it says: 120 BPM I tap again 76... like it jumps to weird numbers...

@@alfgui Niiicceee, thank's a lot that comment was a huge help - i can tap to the beat so it gives me the BPM and Auto does, what auto does :)

Hello!
This mixer makes noises when used with a Mac. After spending more than a month writing to Pioneer, they finally told me that there is a problem between Mac and the mixer and that is why crackling noises occur when using it with a macbook. I have spent hours and hours trying to follow the steps they told me to fix it. The process has been quite disappointing.
If you intend to use it as a soundcard or Rekordbox controller for a Mac, I do not recommend it!

Hi, sorry to hear that. Which Mac device and OS version are you using? Back then I didn’t have any problems. Maybe this is something introduced on M1/M2 drivers? Have you tried other softwares?
any chance you could tell me what kinda cable do you need to record a set from djm450.
A USB cable. You can use the internal sound card for that. Or, you can always use an RCA cable (L/R) plugged into another soundcard just for recording.
