I would recommend learning or applying one of two knows for a better anchor. Either a bowline on a bite with an overhand back up, or the equivocation hitch. The use of a munter can better be improved by doubling over the tree and using both strands in order to recover the rope. The equivocation hitch will offer the same benefit.
Very well explained.. I rapelled for high rise window cleaning for years.. on all kinds of complex buildings.. But now I'm looking to do it for sport and as you say.. emergency.. It's a different set of skills I'm looking forward to gaining.. so vids like this are very valuable.. thank you..
Hey this is very well done, you’re effective at instructing in a clear, concise, patient manner. Grateful for you sharing your competency and knowledge, I hope you are continuing to teach in general because it would be a shame to not with your talent at it.
Believe it or not, there's a way to emergency rappel without a belt or carabiners. It's called Dülfersitz.

Very well explained.
Thank you!
How do you recover the rope from the bottom of the cliff if you’re by yourself?
The area I practice in has a path back up. In a real emergency, I would have to leave rope behind. Hopefully it got me to safety.
ruclips.net/video/Y17-I7WIRGQ/видео.html....you get the idea at 1;30.
U can use a ghost line
Figure 8 would be better to anchor with.
Nice!
Thank You!
