Your son will remember that Barra & that adventure for the rest of his life. Great job dad !
I hope so :) Thanks for watching
How amazing to see a dad interacting with his wee lad like you do. He will never forget the adventures he had with you.

Yeah, he's a champion, bloody slaying me lately...
Well done young man. He won't forget it
He won't stop reminding me how he caught the barra 😜.
Fish of a lifetime mate! And your sons got bragging rights lol
Great vid and classic boys comment about the tomato sauce 😂
Yeah, he still hasn't let me live it down.
Well done mate and to do it with your son extra special
Great episode of father and son bonding over fish.
It looks more pleasn't in the video than reality, hahaha.... ahh well gotta train him up to be usefull.
Awesome barra mate. loved watching how great you were with your son.
Thanks 😊 gotta be in it to win it, and we won on this trip.

Well done! such a beautiful day for fishing too.
Mate that's a nice Barra but you cannot claim it coz it was Owen's catch..lol.. Subbed your channel. Regards Rob.
yeah... such a shame, have to leave him at home in future now :). Thanks for sub.

Couldn't agree more!

will do.
Nice Barra mate. congrats!
Thanks mate, i diddnt think i would get one off the Fraser Coast, but im not complaining.
doesn't matter how many you have caught, you take them where you can! lol. I wish you the best of luck as you move further north. hope you break the magic meter. ;)
Awesome bara guys amazings me a little rod can get such a big fish, can u ask what lure and rod reel size , was amazing to see
Thanks for the comment. It was caught on a 2500 size real that I spooled up with 30lb braid (it's heavy cause I let the kids use it). It's on a 2-4kg stick.
I reckon if I hooked it on my 8lb outfit that I was using, we wouldn't have seen it.
Awesome Barra! Well done landing it. Interested in knowing the location of the camp site.
Down the closest inlet to the poona caravan park. People were bringing cars in there but I couldn't find it by car (I tried).
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks heaps :)
Awesome vid!! Memories you or your son will never forget!! Is that down Poona Creek?
Thanks for the comment, yes down Poona Creek.
My son keeps telling me how I have to catch a Barra, haha...
@@SvedosTrippin great thank you...we are heading to poona palms next week I have a 11 year old and will be taking the kayaks for some fishing..hopefully he can show me how to catch one too 😉
@@michaelschonefeld8220 good luck, but don't set your expectations too high, I think I caught we caught a unicorn.
But head down the creek, there is a rock bar and some deep water before another bend, that will be your best bet. There were schools of tailor there when I went and I would expect there to be even more at this time of year.
@@SvedosTrippin thx for the tip will give it a crack
Well done Owen
Haha, what you didn't see on camera was Owen throw the rod overboard when the barra struck. Lucky I had quick reflexes and caught it in mid air 😜, but he did well.
Where about did you camp is it in a park or free camp
I would love to know where you camped that night. I’ve zig zagged between Fraser and Poona a couple times always looking for a camp spot but haven’t found one yet. Except Garry’s anchorage otherwise known as death by sand flies
Poona Creek mate, it's just on the south side of the creek as you come in, pretty obvious, there's often some cars in there as there must be a track in (but I couldn't find the track in when I was there).
There's still plenty of sandflies there, but not so bad some bushman's won't keep you safe
Thanks.
Thanks for.wqtching and commenting.
Hey mate, I was there in the blue van. Do you remember what month this was?
That’s where we fish all the time and I have never caught a barramundi
79 yeah that'll be good chewing.
💥👌
I😄 think thats Owens barra
Ahh yes, down in SA now and the lil bugga is bringing in King George whiting so fast I can't get my line in the water 😫. Ahh dad life a.
