Owning one of these legendary rifles is definitely something to be damn proud of! Congratulations!
I am in LOVE with my CMP Expert Grade Springfield M1 Garand from 1942. 🇺🇸😁👍

Got one a log time ago. Didn’t come in a fancy case and the furniture is pristine.

Awesome get! Got mine about 1995 for $200. Never fired it. About the same condition as yours. Enjoy!

You should test fire it and see if it needs work or not. Unfortunately mine did but now it's running good.

Nice review. I was wondering if the current Garands from CMP come with the hard plastic case.

I remember my 1st CMP Garand. Was a while ago. Set me back $99 and waited about 2 years.

Nice Danish made Var barrel, which is a very good barrel, meaning your rifle did some time in Denmark. Look for PB and BMB marked parts. Those are italian made parts as Denmark bought M1s that were made by Bretta and Berretta post ww2. Also look for a tag inside the barrel channel that has the danish zeroing for 300 yards wrote on it, if your lucky the tags serial will match yours and you will have a as returned M1 that hasnt had parts swapped by the CMP.

Yhup. My Danish Garands all have some Italian parts. Also had those little slips of paper in the barrel channel.

Not a dream gun by any stretch, just a solid looking Service Grade, except you really seemed to have scored on that stock. It appears to be an International Harvester. The circled proof P should be plain with no serifs and Remove the stock and check to see if there are numbers stamped into the barrel channel of the stock. If that's an IHC stock it's likely worth several hundred dollars in that condition and if the stock metal is also Harvester even more
