    That bearing greasing tool (two cups with a grease nipple) is actually genius, wish I had one of those!

    ..."Must be this tall"...epic gold!
    Using a PRESS to PRESS IN the grease seals! What kind of witchcraft is this! Honestly, I love this team. Great content and a host that's honest enough to not take himself too seriously. Keep up the great work!

    The quality of these videos is insane, I love classic cars and hope to own one one day looking forward to seeing how this racer turns out!

    Changing up those studs so they are all the same, plus coarser thread is such a great idea! Those kind of things add so much to the build, plus makes future repairs easier. Time to grease the hubs on the travel trailer - leaving on holidays in 2 days to north of Lake Superior, and I don't want to replace a burned bearing along the way!

    You needed to put a counter-clockwise spin on the bearing box so that it would angle to the right. And I appreciate that even the more experienced pros can have a skipped step come back on them :)

    I learnt something new today. How to get those damn bearing packer things to actually pack grease. Grease the thread too! It seals the cones!!!! Amazing! Cheers Davin.

    A set of piloted reamers would have probably have been the best choice for opening up the stud holes.
    You could hone the drums with fine sand paper on the brake lathe. This will make break in significantly faster. Drum brakes are more sensitive to surface finish than disc.

    Hey, where can I get a "Get out in your shop and get your work done" merch? An inspiring reminder of how we actively stay in touch with our inner gear head. Whether it's a multi bay rural pole unit or a suburban two car garage we all have our "shops". If Clapton is God in the music, Davin is God in the shop.

    What was wrapped around the drums when they were in the lathe? Was it something to cut down on the noise as he was taking his cuts - to get rid of the ringing sound?

    • @garybailey8877
      @garybailey8877 3 года назад

      Rubber belt. I takes out the harmonics in the cutting process. Narrow ones are used when machining discs.

    The ultimate question, why do you call it a "race car" when it is designed for 'RACING' at a 'race' circuit and therefore should be called as the English would say a "RACING CAR" designed for "RACING". With your basket skills you must play for the Bucks :)
