  • Scratching another tool off the list of things I need by machining a hefty fly cutter. These are another great example of tools that let you improve your skills while also adding to your arsenal.
    As single point cutters, they offer a lot of versatility and some great surface finishes but will need some consideration of feeds and speeds to take heavier cuts

      @@Mark_How Yes, it's a little secret of the DIY world. You don't actually ever have to build anything. You can just build the tools for building those things.

    Mark thanks for the video. What dimensions did you finalize the wheel to? what type of steel 4140? thx

      So made from 80mm stock, as for material type I honestly wish I knew. It seems to be some mystery grade of stainless that I got given, quite free machining luckily as it's what I used for the QCTP build

    Using a v block would stop the part shifting around all the time, you need 3 points of contact

      No doubt, only I'd need a pair of v-blocks 😂 they're on the DIY tool list though
