- Scratching another tool off the list of things I need by machining a hefty fly cutter. These are another great example of tools that let you improve your skills while also adding to your arsenal.
As single point cutters, they offer a lot of versatility and some great surface finishes but will need some consideration of feeds and speeds to take heavier cuts Развлечения
thanks Mark enjoyed the video, liked the cutter
No worries Robert, glad to hear so, thanks for the comment
Nice job. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Thanks again, always amusing how the "tools to make tools" projects can be the most fun
@@Mark_How Yes, it's a little secret of the DIY world. You don't actually ever have to build anything. You can just build the tools for building those things.
Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing
No worries, glad you liked the video
glad i am not the only one, who fucks up consistently :D great video
nice video thanks for making the time to make it. what is the diameter of the body of the tool? thanks
Mark thanks for the video. What dimensions did you finalize the wheel to? what type of steel 4140? thx
So made from 80mm stock, as for material type I honestly wish I knew. It seems to be some mystery grade of stainless that I got given, quite free machining luckily as it's what I used for the QCTP build
Using a v block would stop the part shifting around all the time, you need 3 points of contact
No doubt, only I'd need a pair of v-blocks 😂 they're on the DIY tool list though
