  • This week we drive a 1997 Mercedes-Benz C180 W202 Elegance.
    This car is from my collection and was generously given to me by the previous owner. As such it's a very long term project and keeper.
    Please note: It's early days still for the channel and I'm still experimenting with the format.
    If you have a car and you'd like it to feature on the channel (if you deem it interesting enough for the channel that's good enough for me) contact me on Twitter or by Email below:

    Hey mate. I have a w202, w203, w204 and a w205 ( all silver ) and I must say my w202 is my favourite out of the lot she's currently on 85105mls Full dealer service history and drives like a dream! Had a slight problem with hard starting when I first got her but mechanic swapped some ignition relay thingy majig and problem ceased. I'm glad you saved this ine good on you, future classic! 👍🏼

    Love to see quality videos about the W202. I own a 1995 C180 Classic. Replaced the wiring harness. I don't think I will ever sell it.

    Enjoyed that, it's rare to find a car you like so much you'll never sell.

      Exactly, it's just a nice relaxing place to be. The car just bring positive vibes as it was such a kind gesture from the previous owner.

    Lovely car John. I had a ‘03 W210 estate for years and agree with all your comments on build quality, rust issues etc, but always a joy to drive and own.

    Hi mate. Here is how I have managed to find seal leaks.
    Park the car in the garage, close all doors and windows and with the fan on full, use a spray bottle with a soapy mix and spray along all edges

    I have the w202 c200 sport in silver 1999 model and in the 7 years that I have it it’s made me not want to drive another car . 64 k mileage drives like a dream . In August 2023 the whole of London is becomes ULEZ so if I take it on the road it will cost me £12.50 each day . Sadly I have to find a good home for my beloved Mercedes w202 , any suggestions are welcome

      Hi Costas. I'd be interested in knowing more about the W202. Could you email me at johnosgarage@gmail.com

    you love the car , why dont you respray the bumpers at least and fix the back door????????

      @JohnsGarageIreland  3 года назад

      Really good question, I actually had it dropped off to be resprayed but it kept getting delayed as the hope was it would be done between jobs to make it more affordable. Eventually, due to a change in my personal circumstances, it got to the point that I had to focus on preservation rather than restoration. I'd absolutely love to make it as good as it can be but it all costs money, even this channel costs money to create!
