  • The Jaguars aren't the only pro sports team interested in a new stadium. The Bears, Bills, Chiefs, Titans and Rays all have deals in various stages of development.

Something is not right in the USA, I can’t pin point it but when I look at the state these inner cities are in and how much of the population is living 1 check away from homelessness. I feel the tension when I go into town. Tax payers pay for these stadiums.

Maybe if we had gladiator fights to the death in the off season? We could increase ticket revenue while reducing the population of homeless people.

Several reasons why I resist the idea of a new stadium in Jacksonville. The seats are too small for an adult male to sit comfortably and not feel like a sardine. Lest face facts, adult men are the usual attendees at football games, duh. I went to one game and I’m not an overly large man, about 200 pounds at the time, but it cured me of ever wanting to go again. It hasn’t been that long since the last “upgrade” and the traffic pattern adjustment from it have only recently finished, and it took a herd of idiots to conceive of the current traffic situation with all of the traffic lights that were added. The stadium isn’t used every day, but the traffic heading downtown is inconvenienced every day trying to get by the stadium to their destinations. In addition, the Jaguars winning records are not very inspiring to say the least. I’m not sure they deserve another stadium upgrade now. The projected cost to the city would not be offset by the tourist dollars they claim to garner for the local economy for events for many years. Not to mention the ticket prices would be raised again. The public is getting really tired of the disrespect some teams allow their players to display. They are getting paid to play football, not showcase their political beliefs or agendas. Any demonstration of disrespect should be dealt with instantly and harshly. Substantial fines or firing would get their attention. Clauses in their contracts should be included to prevent their being able to retaliate with legal shenanigans for the afore mentioned infractions. Step out of line, get removed from the line, PERIOD!
