One album I never listened to and never bought. I have been a 60% fan of the 77s since their first album. I can say I have loved All Fall Down; Prey Naked; Ping Pong over the Abyss; and Tom Tom Blues..but I am discovering this album just now. It is sooooo beautiful and has an even mood throughout the songs. I think it is even more me than the others. It seems so relaxed and like a labor of love. I am grateful for it late in life. I am in my early 50s and am happy in this discovery. It's okay. I pulled it up wanting to hear the slightly sad melody and words of The Jig is Up.
This is absolutely my all time favorite 77s song! So beautiful. Desperately sad, but beautiful!
this song was a favorite of mine. as a kid i never understood what the song was about. now i'm 30 and it makes perfect sense cuz i've gone through what the song talks about. thanks for posting.
You last purchased this item on July 12, 2005. That's what I read on Amazon when I looked this selection up. I have a huge music collection and used to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of music per month. This selection got lost in my collection and was probably only "glossed over once" before gathering dust. It sat on my shelf till 2017 and later in a box (from my Florida to Wisconsin move) till yesterday when I finally finished my CD racks in my new home and unboxed and stacked my discs on their new shelves. Not knowing how to categorize this CD I listened to it and haven't stopped. I went to Wikipedia, Amazon, then to Ebay looking for more info and selections. I'm here now...

Set adrift on memory bliss...
While I love the remaster's cover as much as the next guy, I cannot help but preferring this version. Somehow it perfectly encapsulates the story and meaning of this album. During the summer we go to a lake with this exact kind of slide and I'm reminded of it every time I see this cover. Also, a lot better than Pray Naked's cover, sorry.
This sounds a bit like a Millie Vanillie song but still good song
