Does the Snow Joe Snow Blower Really Work in 2023? My Review

  • This year I bought the Snow Joe Electric Snow Blower as I was done with shoveling and breaking my back. I bought the SJ625E Electric Walk-Behind Single Stage Snow Blower ... I chose the 15amp 21inch model amzn.to/3Gzv8j3 and also bought the Southwire 12ga 100 foot extension cord amzn.to/3nz3pHF which is very important if you are going to use a corded electric snow blower. Most standard cords dont carry enough amperage and also get very stiff and hard to work with. Are Snow Joe brand snow blowers worth the money? It did a great job here in Colorado with about 7-8" of snow. Here is my review of this snow thrower. They also make 22inch and 18 inch models. Links are down below to the snow blower and cord I purchased.
    Snow Joe Ultra 18-Inch 13-Amp : amzn.to/3ny3w6l
    Snow Joe 22-Inch 15-Amp: amzn.to/3ruLXFE
    Snow Joe 21-Inch 15-Amp: amzn.to/3Gzv8j3
    Southwire 12ga Cord: amzn.to/3nz3pHF

I've had this or perhaps an earlier version for about 12 years, it works great in dry, powder snow, but the chute clogs quickly in wet stuff and I have to clear the chute about every 20 seconds, but it does clear it.

I always coat the chute with WD40 before each winter season. Our snow in Maryland is usually the wet, heavy type. This method works well.

We are up North of Denver. Heavy snows are not really common ... usually just a few a year but Feb-March can get some heavy wet snow... best of luck in your move

How many inches of wet snow can you plow through? Thanks

Wet snow is more challenging but this handled 4-5 inches later in the year. I had to clear chute clogs a few times with wet snow but overall still worked pretty good for what it is. If I had large areas of snow and really wet snow, I would probably want a gas model. This worked good for me in Colorado and my driveway and corner sidewalks

I live in the Northern Berkshire mountains of western Massachussetts, just got 20+ of wet slop. mind you i went out several times over the last 48 hours but it cut through 5+inches of wet pack each time. my driveway is roughly 50x15 packed reclaim regrinds and a 40ft walkway.
i bought this machine 2 winters ago and its still going strong.

I bought this machine in 2022 and so far in 2023 we just had our big first 7 inch snow of the season and it fired right up and did exactly what it shows in the video worked really well again this is for 7 inches and under could probably do eight, but does not do so well if the snow is very wet. Here in Colorado we get really cold dry snow until near the spring so it’s works well. If you get one, make sure you get a good cord.

On our 3rd winter this year with this little bad boy!
The more you wait for the snow to pile up the harder you will on work outside.
If you are getting wet snow then anything under a foot, this will run through easy!,
This is very light as if you are using a slight larger vaccum. So its easy to menuever and get around your driveway, but will be hard to push through compacted snow that are above a foot.
Anything compacted over a foot can't be thrown with this is you only use half the width of this clearance, trying to use a full clearance will only make ypu spend twice the time so mind as well work smart right?,
With 4 car driveway, i can get it done under 30 minutes including prep and stow.
      Alaskan here.l! 🤙

These things suck. First time taking it out here in 2024 living just south of Buffalo, NY and the directional hood popped right up out of the ring! WTF, OVER?!?!? Lesson learned. These are made for snowfall in Georgia or Alabama. Waste of money.

    • @pepawg2281
      @pepawg2281 4 месяца назад +1

If you look closely at the ring, there is a screw hole on the ring the you can fix the ring in place after you lock it into position. This machine works just fine!

Yes I found that single screw secure point and it did nothing but keep the top from fying off. I had to use 2 more self tapping screws to keep it on. Biggest waste of money for living in WNY
