She finally got a Principal dancer position of The Royal Ballet of Britain!! Just like Miyako Yoshida, great dancer she has always been admired...both of them have really wonderful talent!!
Wonderful expression the best interpretation I saw...but it's hard to learn the choregraphy from this video because you don't always can see the steps, her feet...
im the same i do try not to get stuck into the classics but either the steps are minimilist or music nondescript. I loved in the middle of somewhat elevated of course danced by the incredible Sylvie Guillem but she could make anything look good. The occasional suprise will pop up but i do find some of it pretty boreing.
@@jillgooner i fully understand. I just feel that often ballerinas cant transition to contemporary that well without looking still, like a ballerina. I have only seen a few who can truly do this. with companies now doing more and more modern/contem pieces we are seeing how principals in the ballet are not always the leads in the modern. not a criticism, just perhaps muscle memory is so ingrained its impossible to fully transition between the two. particularly asian dancers who only do ballet and very little contem, if at all, while growing up.
@@paulofuller6492they have to be something special to do this I agree. Definitely a lot of new works around but I'm not blown away but as I said we carnt stay in the past times change but I still find the classics are more appreciated when I take someone who hasnt seen much ballet, perhaps because of the productions. Manon is my favourite and Macmillan and Ashton can do no wrong. Look at monotones you couldnt get more abstract than that but blimey you have to be good to get away with that.
