My boyfriend got me a kindle for valentine’s day and I’m so obsessed with it! I thought I’d only like having physical books and was hesitant to ask for a kindle as a gift but it’s extremely worth it!

I got my kindle last year and I hardly EVER buy physical books now - usually I buy a coffee at a bookshop and then walk around to get ideas for new books to get on my kindle. There really just are not any cons. I cannot imagine not having it.
Same, I walk around bookstores if I miss going there. But if I want to actually read a physical book I go to the library. Other than that I just use my kindle

Number one use for the Kindle is the samples to see if you really enjoy the author‘s tone the way they write and the content of the story… if not you can delete it move on if so then you can decide to get the physical copy if you want it. ❤️

I used to think I could never read ebooks bc I love physical books way too much then I ran out of space on my shelves LOL now I literally dont think I could exist without my kindle 😂 plus since I started getting into reading romance I've saved soooo much money by having kindle unlimited

I don't have a Kindle, but I do LOVE the Kindle app on my phone. As an English teacher, I have MAJOR problems! I buy the hardback or paperback for my classroom, sometimes an additional special copy for me if it is an anticipated release for me, and then the kindle book for me to read when I fall asleep in bed. UGH! I'm def showing this to my students though because they like ebooks a lot more.
I got a kindle for christmas too and i love it so much i have been reading way more. I will recommend the Ashes and Embers series by Carian Cole (I am currently reading) It is a rockstar romance series and each book is a different person from the band. I don’t know if you will like it, but I enjoyed them and I finished them in like a day.
My favorite thing about the kindle is KU and being able to sample books first lol. Also books from Libby :)

I also was really frustrated with blue light and everything. you could also buy blue light glasses (or something like that). for me it works really good and I don't have headaches from the blue light anymore!

I got the fire 7.. it’s cheaper and is a small tablet so the app is colored not b&w. I love it so much

is it worth getting a kindle without kindle unlimited because it’s unfortunately not available where i live? are the books more or less expensive to buy on a kindle or a physical copy from amazon? thankful for answers…
im still debating getting one.... physical books are just so gorgeous but I travel a lot and I feel like the Kindle would be super easy to travel with....
Give it a try most places where you can get the kindle will let you return it anyway. It really does come in handy when traveling or just bringing it with you everyday. I throw mine in my backpack or purse. It's with me at all times.

Just an FYI, there’s a night mode setting for the iPad and you can turn blue light off on the iPad as well. You mentioned something about the blue light from your iPad being bad for your eyes, so I wanted to throw that out there. I use my iPad for my books. I went back-and-forth on trying to decide if I should get a Kindle instead. The reason I love the iPad is because I can use it to read Kindle, Libby, and even if I want to purchase any books on iBooks. But I still think the Kindle is cute, I am just wondering if you can still do all those things as well on it?
You can send books from Libby to your kindle. However you wouldn’t be able to transfer iBooks to your kindle.
@@gf1578 right. I didn’t say you could. You can read kindle books on the iPad (using the app). Never said you could put iBooks on a kindle
Girl get yourself a kindle even if it's just to test out. I promise it's a much different experience than reading on a tablet. I read on my phone using the kindle app years ago and I'm so glad I made the switch. It's even got me out of the habit on having my phone constantly in my hand.

Do it! I'm like you, I very much like having a book in my hand. But the Kindle has allowed me to read way more than I thought I could (no wait time, cheaper prices). When I go on holiday i'm not worried about which book I should bring, and I can read anywhere regardless of the weather or conditions around me. (Being in the dark isn't an issue). I find my physical selection of books have become far greater because now i'm selective of the books I want physically.
I’m just wondering how many books can a 16 GB hold and does anyone know if the Amazon kindle is just as good as the kindle paper white? I’m a teen with other expenses so 140 bucks isn’t exactly cheap to me 😅

@@shaylakeeton7405 you can use the app overdrive/libby! Just download it from the app store and input your library card number + pin! From there you can search the book you want! if your library has the book, you can borrow for up to 21 days. Just click on borrow and it will take you to amazon where you can get the book delivered to your kindle. Some books might be popular so they might not be available right away so you can place a hold and overdrive will email you once it becomes averrable. Honestly, this is the only way I read the most popular books and most of the time they are available instantly.
Pro tip: You can get library card access for multiple libraries in your state all for free. This is helpful because you may find that the library system in your local area might not have the book but a county that is 50 miles may. Just make sure you read the terms and conditions for that library!

I am on the fence getting a Kindle because I have the iPad. One thing though, I understand Libby eBooks can be delivered to your Kindle so I think that’s another source of eBooks than just Kindle Unlimited. The biggest benefit I see is that Kindle Unlimited seems to be Indie books not available at my library so it’s cheaper than buying the paperbacks

I was on the fence about purchasing mine last year because I also already had my iPad with Libby. But I work from my iPad so she’s always dead if felt like AND it’s just so bulky and hard to read comfortably or take it places.
I read literally 5x as many books now with my kindle because it’s just so much more convenient and comfortable.

@@whatsdesreading Haha. I just found out amazon prime reading is free if you already have prime, but it does not have nearly as big of a selection as kindle unlimited.
