Thanks for showing us the differences in the castings! This is why we tune in to Lamely Group, you never disappoint us with your intuitive reviews. Thank John!
I wonder if the Fast and Furious line was a victim of Mattel's production/shipping issues because there are a lot of cars they could still pull from the movies. They haven't even finished all of the crew cars from the original, as they still need Vince's Maxima, Mia's Teggy, and the Hondas they used for heists. Hopefully it gets a chance to come back, but if not it was great while it lasted!
It was probably a victim of being milked too much. Too many repeats (and the wrong kind of repeats), little to no variety (Nissans and Dodges in pretty much every mix), many a time the wrong castings/ wheels being used and the biggest killer imo: heavy usage of background cars that the majority of the movie fans did not appreciate. This line had so much potential and so many good cars still left to be made, but for whatever reasons, they somehow seemed to run it into the ground.
Was a crime that they didnt do Han's RX 7 but I undersatnd VEILSIDE license is incredibly HARD to acquire. so far heard only Peako and Tomica managed to get it)
Svt Lightning: The Fast and The Furious GNX: Fast and Furious ( 4th Film ) Firebird: End on 4th film & beginning of Fast Five Mid-Engine Charger: F9 Nova: F9
I love the casting of the SVT lightning so I will definitely get this one regardless, also love the firebird, as for the others in the set I can take them or leave them for my collection. Thanks for the video and content as usual John.
I wasn’t collecting or didn’t catch the first release of the lightning, so I’m glad I was able to pick this one up. I like the rims on this one more and they are more movie accurate. Was very tempted to grab the firebird too as it looks really good and I saw one just like that at an auto shop recently.
Not an essential set if you're a seasoned HW collector who got all the previous F&F versions, but a good set if you're new to premium Hot Wheels F&F. I have to say i like the new wheels on the '99 Ford F-150 Lightning better than the previous F&F version. Like the older wheels of the '68 Charger as well. Thanks for the presentation.
Nice new set, I'm a carded collector and thank you for opening them up so we could see them out of the package. Stay cool, I live in Lancaster ca. It's hot at 100 degrees
Thanks for Doing this John. I really love the 68 Dodge Charger and didn’t think I needed to collect it because it looks alike. Thanks for sharing the difference.
I like to think of these as a opportunity for those who didn't knew about it back then or simply didn't get the first releases back in the day. I myself (even tho i was collecting at the time already) missed out on the originals somehow, and seeing them return it's really good, as i really wanted some of those castings!
Great video. Got my set a few weeks ago. Along with a Deutschland Design chase car. Now trying to find the Mountain Drifters set. So far, no luck. Keep 'em coming and stay safe.
11:45 the wheels on the new one are often referred to as RRLW5sp, the LW for "Larry Wood" as the wheel debuted in the 2009 Larry's Garage line. On the RR chart Van and Brendon provided, though, they are called "RR 5sp Classic"
Certainly, something of an eye opener. The wheels are the most obvious differences here at a cursory glance, but the side by side comparisons highlights the greater attention paid to the deco application. From a personal standpoint, I do prefer the new wheel choices for the SVT Lightning, the Buick GNX and Nova SS.
It's cool that Hot Wheels does stuff like this, because if you missed these when they came around the first time, you have a second chance to pick them up. The different wheels don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Scalpers will lay off them, because they are repeats. I really wish Hot Wheels would do this with the JAPAN HISTORICS 1 set. Re-release that whole set with slight differences and maybe different card art. I wasn't collecting when that set dropped, and you can't get near it on the used market now. It went through the roof in terms of pricing.
Not digging the new SVT wheels,, loved the first release being more stock. Others are nice for an 'aftermarket' wheel look. Still a neat re-release. May only chase the Nova, we shall see. Edit: Grand National has a different logo on the top right of the trunk. After seeing the Nova wheels, I'll skip that release too, happy with the first one. Also looks like the first and last release of the Firebird have the same size Phoenix
The SVT Lightning was more movie accurate with this release. The other cars were less accurate, or in the case of the Firebird, the same. The Firebird also had the Smokey and the Bandit release, which was more similar to the Boulevard except with gold chrome on the rims.
This is the final fast and furious set that people will pass on and leave behind but will become more sought after because of the f150 wheel variation.
Going for the original Grand national and firebird. Love the fast furious sets. Thank you for the tip. Looked online and the Grand Nationals going for $60. Thank you 😎🚙
Yeah this set just doesn’t do it for me at all. I’ve been grabbing the lightings for the wheels for sure though for customs. GNX is a nice looking casting for sure though.
the entertainment series are made in a different country from car culture . i believe it's indonesia for entertainment and thailand for car culture . i'm going by memory and could be wrong or there might be caveats to that rule
These are all good castings and were already part of my collection, less the Trans Am. Not sure it is worth buying a duplicate just for a wheel swap, though I did pick up the Trans Am from this set.
I gotta disagree with the stance. I find it kinda flat. In 1968 the Nova had a slight rise going towards the back. That’s how I remembered them when I was young. Maybe this is a more modern version. The 1968 Nova was different then this.
The only difference is the wheels. Personally I might skip these series because I have them already and in fact I like the first version wheels better. Unless, I can find them on sale or a discounted price.
I tend to agree with you. I also have the first version as well. And I’m arguing with myself if I really want this new FAF set. Like you said the only real difference is the wheels. And I have to get them shipped overseas from USA to Denmark and also pay customs. We don’t get premium HW or MBX cars here. Or any other 1/64 premium brands either. And they are not that cheap on eBay anymore and shipping is also expensive
I agree these F&F sets have introduced a lot of cool new castings. But I am so sick of the millions of sets from this franchise. They have plenty of other sets and lines they can introduce new castings through
I haven’t been collecting for long and i’m really bored of the Fast and furious premiums. Just like the film franchise, it’s just a case of over milked cash cow. Bit like Skylines and Datsuns.

definitely getting the set
I’m still holding out hope that we’ll eventually see Letty’s Jensen Interceptor.

Essas miniaturas do velozes e furiosos ficou muito top demais, o set está ótimo 👍 ganhou mais um inscrito ✌

Did you notice the blisters are mounded tight around the cars ,not rectangle like they usually are..
I just love that SVT Lightning!

I’ve been to the set of the new movie. Those cars are in the new one as sort of a throwback.

These are so nice cars, loved these sets.❤❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The gt wheels are great on the widebody charger, theyd be sensational will a chrome deep dish
Got that set (except for the Firebird)
today at my local Walmart
That symbol on that Buick license plate looks very familiar 3:54 , wasn't it on another Buick in a Target 50th anniversary throwback set?
Que colección tan más fabulosa amigo todos son una obra de arte estupendo video 👌👍
Hot Wheels Fast & Furious awesome collection set.... nice detail....
Big fan here...😍😍😍 thanks for sharing them all here...
Yeah this set just doesn’t do it for me at all. I’ve been grabbing the lightings for the wheels for sure though for customs. GNX is a nice looking casting for sure though.
Skipped all but the Firebird the first time around and have no need for repeats with different wheels.
awesome set of collection bro, nice casting bro
okay bro
Lmao....
The Lightning looks so much better with spoked wheels.
awesome set 🔥 🍀
This series is called the Rapid Repeats
The First Trans Am is from Smokey & the Bandit not Blvd. 😁
the entertainment series are made in a different country from car culture . i believe it's indonesia for entertainment and thailand for car culture . i'm going by memory and could be wrong or there might be caveats to that rule

the grand national emblem on the trunk is on the wrong side
My Firebird came with gold paint on the front compared to yours which is red...
Hot wheels keeps avoiding the noble m600 by discontinuing the fast and furious line where I expected it to show 😂
7:03 what movie? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 ?
I don't see this car 😃
I am waiting for the "fast & Furious" Dodge Charger Police from Brazil....
repeats with changes and improvements is acceptable
Meh
Personally i like the new 68 dodge charger the old one tires were to big and wide so i like it with the new tires

I'm definitely buying the set
I have this set
MISSING THE RETRO ENTERTAINMENT TRANS AM
I agree these F&F sets have introduced a lot of cool new castings. But I am so sick of the millions of sets from this franchise. They have plenty of other sets and lines they can introduce new castings through
Wow, another F&F set, not only did Mattel destroy that dead horse, they're still kicking its remains. Do they really have nothing else to produce?
I only clicked on the video to say I’m tired of hearing about fast and The furious
I don't get it. I mean, is Mattel afraid of trying anything new when it comes to HW??
Party time
8:12 BLASPHEMY!
set of peg warmers
🥰🥰🥰🥰
This cool cars mister lamley group
Pass

Bit like Skylines and Datsuns.
Hot Wheels does way too much Fast and Furious stuff. They need to get away from it.
Мрія сет, у нас в Україні коштуватиме 100 долларів.
