Damaging my Miata at Road Atlanta 10B, Nov 27, 2011

- Chin Motorsports Thanksgiving event on Sunday Nov 27, 2011 - 12:00PM green group. Spec Miata trades the lead with 944 and Vette but then goes off at 10B causing some damage.
The crazy thing is that people pointed you by. About 2 minutes of this video was the Miata trying to get from 85mph to 100mph on a straight LOL.
Thanks for the props. I was driving well that day. Two different instructors stopped by in the paddock that day and commented that I needed to move from green to blue group. That really inflated my head and gave me too much confidence which i think is part of the reason i had a bad wreck at T3 the next time I was at Road Atlanta in March this year. I uploaded that one as well.
Also, I watched your April Rd Atl videos and you were going plenty fast.
Why do race tracks retain those silly burms is beyond me. Good job
Damn! I gotta give you some props for driving the hell out of that Miata though. I've only run RA once and was turning a little faster laps, but in a much more powerful car. You had that thing screaming! At least there weren't any walls or barriers involved. :)
DE isn’t about hot lapping. At your level, your lap times should have been the last thing you should have been thinking about. It is about safely having fun at a track by driving in a manner that isn’t dangerous to you or others. To quote a popular movie, your ego is writing checks your body can’t handle. Whoever sanctioned this activity shouldn’t be allowed to hold any more DEs at any track.
It sounded expensive!! Good job out there. Road Atlanta is an awesome track.

As of this fall, I can get low 48s consistently. I have done one 46.9 - but only once - search for "2012-09-30 Road Atlanta Chin HPDE - Miata Chases Corvette Z06". My goal for this month (Nov, 2012) is to get many 46s and possibly a 45. But Rd Atl is a ball buster - too much concrete - very scary driving at 10/10ths.
yes - i yell occassionally - usually when trying to catch someone :)
