She was only about 9 mo old. Well she had been eating some fruit loops and happened to spit one out and it was sitting on her arm. Next thing you know this huge welt from where it was touching her skin.

Capsaicin is literally the thing that make food "burning hot spicy" The best remedy against that is cold milk. The sugar, fat, and protein in the milk will help wash away some of the capsaicin. Swish the milk like a moush wash.
milk isnt actually that great as its actually, on average, 87% water. Believe it or not, key lime pie is the best remedy for heat. Or a mix of drinking a lime simple syrup with honey and then a spoonful of peanut butter.

Like, when they say their olive oil is extra virgine, they literally test it if it's true. They even control the labels etc. Like, if the company says their olive is from some specific province in Italy, they check the legitimately. I ordered some twinkies to test from amazon before though..lol. But, you can get other products from hostess in special shops that sell stuff from around the world.

I was in a behavioral and neuro genetics class this past semester, and we were shown an actual example of how these rat/mice studies may not be accurate to humans, as the example we saw the results for humans and mice were complete opposites of each other. My issue is that they won't replace Red Dye 3 with beet extract or annatto and will replace it with Carmine or cochineal extract (those are cheaper). That's crushed up bugs that live on the agave plant (the same one for agave sweeteners and tequila). I have an epi-pen for it because the allergy is that severe to it and wasp stings.
And when you find a brand that does use beet and annatto, it's some waspy organic extra expensive health food brand that charges 20 dollars for a package of 6 cookies.

Kraft stated changing their formula years ago since buying yellow 5 and yellow 6 got more expensive. Kraft is trying to get rid of food dye from their products. The only reason i know this is my sister is allergic to all these dyes. She gets an anaphylactic reaction

About the chicken: it is added a lot of saline water in the cheaper one that you bought, that’s why have that looks. It is not because of the chlorine wash.

Red 3 to 5 are banned pretty much anywhere in the EU. They were linked to hyperactivity and concentration problems in children in the 90s and basically all sodas are now coloured by natural extracts. UK Fanta being coloured by Carrots and natural pumpkin colourings.
dude capsaicin just makes it spicy, it does not actually kill anyone as long as you are not allergic to it or hypersensitive to spice. It's not harmful.
I get everything on that list, but the hot noodles with Capsaicin. I mean, they warn you, that they are hot. By that logic, every spicy food should be banned and that would be pretty sad. I had the three times hot noodles once, they had a package with powder and that sauce, which was nearly black. I used all of the powder (it was mostly flavor and not very hot) and just a third of that sauce package and that was pretty spicy, but ok. I gave the rest to a colleague, who loves really spicy food.
As a girl who has alot of island family I LOVE salted fish and ackee it's sooooooo good you just have to have someone make it right and I personally like it with rice and beans as well as some cooked vegetables on the side ❤ you should definitely try it
Why do they need so much time to reformulate some basic food dyes? Just replace them with non-banned alternative dyes. When the dye is even needed in the first place.
Banning buldak for containing capsaicin is a bit weird to me. What might be usefull is a warning that it might be too spicy or can cause nausea if not used to spicy foods. I tried to find capsicin concentration compaired with chilli peppers but could find it (if someone soes please share). It is true that capsaicin is a "neurotoxin" because it can reversibly inhibit pain receptors. reversibly means they need a while but they get their full function back. Capsaicin is used to numb neuropathic pain (pain caused by nerve damadge) but it needs quite a few applications and the pain comes back after one to a few months. So what I am trying to say is I doubt that these noodles are more dangerous then a very hot pepper.
We loooooove buldak noodles, but we never do the full packet of sauce cause it's too much. We often add a bit of (coconut) cream and eat it with roasted, salted peanuts and scallions :D

So Irn Bru went through a recipe change due to a change in the UK around sugar contains and colourings. You can still buy the original Irn-Bru in certain parts of the uk but it isn’t made by the company anymore so it’s a limited supply. The original was better but made people really hyper.

The dyes may be hazardous in their own right, but their potential origin from petroleum is irrelevant and misleading. Virtually every medicine on earth probably started from a petroleum base, that doesn't make them inherently toxic.
I remember when Hostess was out of business for a while and I had to settle for the Mrs Freshley's version of Twinkies that they called dreamies when I left you dreaming of the original Twinkie because it was dreamies did not have enough cream filling.
Being from Austria it was funny hearing "banned in Austria" for every item, lol. But I'm glad these things are banned, it's not worth exposing kids to food colorings that will literally affect their brain function when natural dyes are available.

I had a similar experience to those Budlak noodles. Literally after three and a half bites, I was snotting, crying, and sweating. I chugged milk and ate bread for an hour!!! 😂😂 never again!
I'm sitting here with my Dr. Pepper and had to check the ingredients, no BVO in it thank goodness. I'll never understand Stovetop Stuffing, I won't eat it again after becoming violently ill after the only time I tried it. My Son was born with migraines but we didn't get an official diagnosis until he was 4. I had to be a wise shopper when buying ingredients to make our meals. Of course, his grandparents would give him food he was supposed to avoid which caused some friction between the in-laws and myself. Now he's an adult and he knows what to avoid but he still makes poor food choices.

I recently ordered Irn Bru online, not knowing that the UK had required products to reduce the sugar content and so Irn Bru replaced some of the sugar with aspartame. I checked the label and they've removed the ferid oxide and Hano 4r, but now it has Yellow 6! Not exactly an improvement...
I think the point of boxed mac and cheese is that you don't need to do any extra steps, if you are in a rush or too tired. Can do a regular mac and cheese otherwise :) thank you for spreading awareness of those toxic dyes! (and other ingredients). We eat Spicy noodles, but only 1 - spicy, 2 spicy would be too hot for me.
I think her way is a lot easier bc it's everything you would normally add w the exception of the shredded cheese and it's all in one pot so no need to drain!
i am mostly shocked about pez. Pez is from Austria, and we don't use those toxic ingredients here - Austria has even stricter regulations than most other EU countries. And yet, in the pez produced in america those ingredients are there.
It's surprising. The Austrian and the international Pez websites state "no artificial colors" and don't mention those dyes in the ingredients, so I am really puzzled that American Pez has this stuff.
If I’m not mistaken, the ferric oxide in IRN-BRU (pronounced iron brew) is what we call “rust.” Ferrum is the Latin name for iron and oxide is when a matter reacts with air. I might be mistaken, but it makes sense considering the name of the product.
Buldak is weird in that it's so spicy it's almost painful and somehow that makes it even more tasty. I recommend having a glass of cold milk or cream on the side, and taking a swig in between bites. Alternately, one can make their own Buldak by combining gochujang, pepper flakes, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, pepper powder and thereby control the heat.
Look...the US FDA doesn't give 2 craps about what we ingest..the only reason why certain things are brought up is because people complained long enough...if you care about your health like you say you do, you will stay away from grocery stores & grow/harvest your own food. Japan has some of the safest regulations when it comes to food/beauty. Would be nice if the US did too.
Argh. Unfortunately for me, what I'm allergic to is turmeric (curcumin) which means that every time they do these reformulations I have to learn a whole new set of stuff I can't have anymore. I am so tired of turmeric getting added for color to things.

Not sure why🤔 maybe once I got pregnant I thought it was gross? It happened to chicken nuggets, milk, and I think packaged ham. So who knows. This was a fun video to watch. The reliance on rat testing is difficult. Rats are more susceptible to cancers and allergens than the average human or many other species.

Tallow is rendered animal fat and is used over veg and other oils in a lot of countries, that one's fine.

I've also learned that some states are allowing lab grown chicken. So when checking the chicken look for "Hatched" labeled somewhere on the package

BHA and BHT are oil antioxidants, it helps them oil not to oxidize and get rancid. There are just healthier alternatives, such as rosemary extracts.

Capsaicin is used to numb neuropathic pain (pain caused by nerve damadge) but it needs quite a few applications and the pain comes back after one to a few months. So what I am trying to say is I doubt that these noodles are more dangerous then a very hot pepper.
Water spreads capsasin so you feel more hot when you dring water instead dring cold milk (it dosent make the spicy dissapear but it helps)
But a Vietnamese hack is to drink hot water to help with the spice, not sure if it’s a myth or placebo now 😂
We loooooove buldak noodles, but we never do the full packet of sauce cause it's too much. We often add a bit of (coconut) cream and eat it with roasted, salted peanuts and scallions :D

So Irn Bru went through a recipe change due to a change in the UK around sugar contains and colourings.
You can still buy the original Irn-Bru in certain parts of the uk but it isn’t made by the company anymore so it’s a limited supply.
The original was better but made people really hyper.
Back when I was a kid there was ONE place to buy Pez and It happened to be near my doctor's office so it was always my post doctor visit treat! It was an imported item back then and it was hard to find until they increased distribution in the mid 70's

The dyes may be hazardous in their own right, but their potential origin from petroleum is irrelevant and misleading. Virtually every medicine on earth probably started from a petroleum base, that doesn't make them inherently toxic.

I remember when Hostess was out of business for a while and I had to settle for the Mrs Freshley's version of Twinkies that they called dreamies when I left you dreaming of the original Twinkie because it was dreamies did not have enough cream filling.
Being from Austria it was funny hearing "banned in Austria" for every item, lol. But I'm glad these things are banned, it's not worth exposing kids to food colorings that will literally affect their brain function when natural dyes are available.

I had a similar experience to those Budlak noodles. Literally after three and a half bites, I was snotting, crying, and sweating. I chugged milk and ate bread for an hour!!! 😂😂 never again!

I'm sitting here with my Dr. Pepper and had to check the ingredients, no BVO in it thank goodness. I'll never understand Stovetop Stuffing, I won't eat it again after becoming violently ill after the only time I tried it.
My Son was born with migraines but we didn't get an official diagnosis until he was 4. I had to be a wise shopper when buying ingredients to make our meals. Of course, his grandparents would give him food he was supposed to avoid which caused some friction between the in-laws and myself. Now he's an adult and he knows what to avoid but he still makes poor food choices.

I recently ordered Irn Bru online, not knowing that the UK had required products to reduce the sugar content and so Irn Bru replaced some of the sugar with aspartame. I checked the label and they've removed the ferid oxide and Hano 4r, but now it has Yellow 6! Not exactly an improvement...

I think the point of boxed mac and cheese is that you don't need to do any extra steps, if you are in a rush or too tired. Can do a regular mac and cheese otherwise :) thank you for spreading awareness of those toxic dyes! (and other ingredients).
We eat Spicy noodles, but only 1 - spicy, 2 spicy would be too hot for me.
I think her way is a lot easier bc it's everything you would normally add w the exception of the shredded cheese and it's all in one pot so no need to drain!
I’ve seen BHA and BHT in Jenny O ground turkey and their sausages I don’t know if they still use it or not because I stopped buying them years ago.
i am mostly shocked about pez. Pez is from Austria, and we don't use those toxic ingredients here - Austria has even stricter regulations than most other EU countries. And yet, in the pez produced in america those ingredients are there.
It's surprising. The Austrian and the international Pez websites state "no artificial colors" and don't mention those dyes in the ingredients, so I am really puzzled that American Pez has this stuff.

Ferrum is the Latin name for iron and oxide is when a matter reacts with air.

Buldak is weird in that it's so spicy it's almost painful and somehow that makes it even more tasty. I recommend having a glass of cold milk or cream on the side, and taking a swig in between bites. Alternately, one can make their own Buldak by combining gochujang, pepper flakes, honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, pepper powder and thereby control the heat.
Look...the US FDA doesn't give 2 craps about what we ingest..the only reason why certain things are brought up is because people complained long enough...if you care about your health like you say you do, you will stay away from grocery stores & grow/harvest your own food. Japan has some of the safest regulations when it comes to food/beauty. Would be nice if the US did too.

Argh. Unfortunately for me, what I'm allergic to is turmeric (curcumin) which means that every time they do these reformulations I have to learn a whole new set of stuff I can't have anymore. I am so tired of turmeric getting added for color to things.
