When I first played through this I was confused why his social link still went up despite the fact he literally attempted to kill me right afterwards. Then the 3rd semester happened...
Yeah if you max his confidant and get royal true ending in the after credits they hint at Akechi being alive, never confirm it though. In the game code there is a scene where he is in a rehab centre alive after returning from the alternate reality, but somewhere down the line they must have decided to make his death ambiguous.
Toughest boss in the entire series, i do all my palace in a single run so basically i have no sp left and i didnt k ow there was aboss fight coming, had to use most of my healing items
In the series? Definetely not, the velvet room attendants (especially Elizabeth), Philemon, Nyarlathotep in eternal punishment, the sleeping table from 3 and the baby from 4 are all harder than this in my opinion
I have a bad habit of refusing to use “fully restore SP” items throughout my runs, even if I’m scraping away for SP so I had a lot left and just dumped like 50% of it into this fight since it was supposed to be the last palace
What I don't get is that how did Akechi killing cognitive version of Joker not kill Joker irl if indeed akechi dies here after his cognitive version dies. Is it because they shoot each other?
Essentially yes. The cognitive Joker and cognitive Akechi we see aren't their shadows. For persona users their shadow is essentially their personas. Rather, cognitive Joker is Sae Niijima's perception of him, and cognitive Akechi is Shido's perception of him. Killing just perceptions of a person in a palace won't kill them. We see this earlier multiple times, we kill cognitive Shiho in Kamoshida's palace and she doesn't die, and we also kill the cognitive version of Haru's fiance in Okumura's palace but he is also shown to still be alive. In order to kill someone you have to kill their shadow specifically. Because of this Joker obviously doesn't die. As for Akechi he dies because although killing a cognitive version of you doesn't kill you, that cognitive can still attack and kill you as we see with the fiance in Okumura's palace. Akechi died because he was in an already weakened state and then the cogitive him and a bunch of shadows killed him.

He actually has many attacks people don't know he has. If he manages to get a One More by hitting a weakness or a critical hit, he can either use Desperation, Heat Raiser or Debilitate depending on which phase he's in. He also has Megidolaon if you never get rid of his Makarakarn shield. I wish he would use these moves more actively and not just situationally
In the original game there is no hints to him being alive, after this fight he is completely forgotten. In royal there is an aftercreds scene unlocked by maxing his confidant and getting royal ending. the scene hints him being alive but no confirmation. In the game code there is a scene where he is alive in a rehab centre, but this scene was never used. Down the line atlus must have scrapped it and decided to keep his death ambiguous, but the likely intended for him to be alive.

Adachi was a weirdo. At least Akechi had a reason for doing what he did. Adachi didn’t. He felt betrayed by a woman he never even met for having an affair and killed her. Adachi was literally a “nice guy.”
@@dimentioo It wasn't just the woman thing that drove Adachi to attempting murder. There is also the fact that he IN GENERAL felt entitled to success, because he was trying his hardest to become a police officer (for an admittedly shallow reason). However, when the world failed to deliver, Adachi started to believe that it was his lack of talent that led to him not being successful. Sadly, Adachi did not want to face the reality that not everyone is going to be successful, regardless of effort put in, leading to him wanting to take out his frustration on others, which to him was easy because, in his thoughts, no one really cares about Inaba, if someone died no one would bat an eye

It makes me feel bad for Akechi for the mindset that he has that he felt like he couldn't trust anyone, that he always wanted to be loved, relied on, trusted for once, seeking validation from his POS father, etc. This whole thing is sad tbh.
Ace detective huh (remembers persona 3) the ace defective
You know I never could understand how Haru could stand being around to Akechi all considering; and for that matter did also kill Futabu's Mom as well because who else can go to the Metaverse as an assassin?
Exactly, these crimes just go forgotten and unpunished, frankly I think he deserves nothing but the same treatment as his victims.
It’s kind of possible to see it as working together for the sake of the team/mission and some concessions are made like they don’t play darts or cards with akechi in the thieves den. But yeah it stretches credulity.
In general as much as I like akechi I find it kind of absurd how much the characters supposedly sympathize with him after he put a fucking bullet in Joker’s head.
@@マリー-v4pEspecially considering they didn't give the same benefit of the doubt to other Palace rulers (which what I actually like about P5S). Nah, they just determine they were born to the world as evil adults. Akechi was the only evil person that has a valid sad back story to make his actions "understandable".
So he killed Futaba’s mother and it was never addressed at this perfect moment!!
Isn't that just speculation?

The fact that morgana talking ruined the whole negotiation isn’t surprising

When I first played through this I was confused why his social link still went up despite the fact he literally attempted to kill me right afterwards. Then the 3rd semester happened...
That was one of my moments i doon won't forget after facing him he reminds what i had to go through and I'll keep that promise to hold on his glove.
I refuse to believe he died, he has ROBINHOOD and LOKI like what?!?? I hope we get a way he can return in p6 or hopefully more milked p5
Yeah if you max his confidant and get royal true ending in the after credits they hint at Akechi being alive, never confirm it though. In the game code there is a scene where he is in a rehab centre alive after returning from the alternate reality, but somewhere down the line they must have decided to make his death ambiguous.
Do you think he could keep fighting after getting beat up?
If you answer anything other than "Let's finish this," we can be friends.
god i love that scene where he shows loki but it akechis dialogue sounds so much better in japanese
I Would Feel The Same Anger Like Akechi...😣
All that told me is that don't get between Ryuji and his food
7:37 "Fuck you man"?
Loved this boss fight
I just beat this and I’m happy I decided to fuse Thor cause he’s what made this fight easier.
Ironic
I don't think Akechi really understood the situation he was in. Sure he was more powerful than any one of us but that doesn't matter if you get jumped
14:08 I just realized they changed the Dialogue in this scene.
11:45 for the editors that uses this voicelines for his edits :p
Why is it that i'm playing "Psycho" by Puddle Of Mudd in the background while watching this?
14:08 Was that part changed
Or maybe it’s based on the confidont level
Editing note: I do not no how to spell confidont I am stupid😅
@@Pekkas_Pancakes Yeah, a lot of diologue gets added to this scene if you maxed out Akechi's confidant to level 8 before this fight.

I've played this fight many times and I have never seen him use desperation XD
It seems he uses it after he knocks someone and gets one more, but in my fights with akechi I never used Fox or any personas weak to fire bless or curse, so he's never got one more on me.
There was probably a plan for him to have Ice skills due to the boss actually having Ice Boost and a scrapped line “FREEZE YOU FOOLS!”
Kinda underwelmed that its the exact same fight :(

I HAVE A SUCH A GOOD PERSONA 5:AKECHI GAME
Does he die after you say I will remember your glove please tell me I love him I don’t want him to die
There are theories that points that Akechi lived. One and the most strong proof is the final cutscene in the True Ending.
@@lightningkiki6090 Simply put, he is currently MIA
Why?? On my game they cut the fight with "normal" Akechi 😭😭😭
When you were there, you had rank 9 with him? If not, thats why. You gotta get his confidant to rank 9 before finishing Sae's palace.

Is it just me but that place and akechi looks so similar to Light Yagami and that place where he laughs infront of them?
Both Akechi and Adachi (Persona 4) are similar in one thing. They are little kids or brats throwing a temper tantrum.
Adachi was a weirdo. At least Akechi had a reason for doing what he did. Adachi didn’t. He felt betrayed by a woman he never even met for having an affair and killed her. Adachi was literally a “nice guy.”
@@dimentioo still adachi is best boy
@@romanov191 I like both of them
@@dimentioo It wasn't just the woman thing that drove Adachi to attempting murder.
