I’m seeing this way after you posted it, as I’ve got a fleet of 3 of these and am swapping them all to different brushless motors to see which setup is best. Anyways, I have been able to keep them all bone dry! RC sailboat hatch tape! It’s a hassle, but just keep scissors handy, and it doesn’t have to be perfect. Just run 4 strips around all 4 edges of the hatch, and you’ll have no water. It takes about 1 minute to do after you get the screws in (I’ve got thumbs screws on all mine, so no screw driver). I want to swap batteries fast and catch more waves :)

How hot was the motor? Would a lower kv motor with more torque run a metal prop with a coarser pitch? The video is good, watch it at half speed and it looks better.

Hi there, thanks for watching and your comment. I think 3s would blow the stock esc to be honest. Its only meant to run 7.2NiMH or 7.4Lipo. Stock really isn't great in bit waves though, I think the sweet spot is 3s. Just right.
