      Shelby, I just bought a 2004 Bounder 35E with only 13,900 miles on it, from original owners, haven't used it yet but seems to be a good one,made in Riverside, California, it's the gas engine one, I never had a RV before and the wallpaper is just about the only cheap thing I can find,do you have anything I need to be aware about? And the three piece glass shower door is stuck all together and I can't lift it or slide it out.

    I bought a 2013 35k about a year and a half ago. I’ve had to fix a few things as well, but also found some nice upgrades for it. Replaced all of the (hot and power-hungry) halogen puck lights with LED replacements that use 1/10th the power. Pulled out the back bedroom mattress and replaced it with a sleep number. Rewired the entertainment setup so that you can watch any TV from the satellite dish, broadcast antenna or DVD player. But the best upgrades (I think) for this RV are the replacement front sway bar and auxiliary rear sway bar from Roadmaster. RV was so top-heavy before that, it was kind of stressful to drive. Well worth the funds. I put the front one in myself and had the back one installed. About $1600 altogether. Well worth it.

    I agree on the tilt wheel, I am 6'3" but I would love to have it lower. We have a 2021 33C which is shorter and not a bath and half but pretty much the same. One thing I don't like, for the bedroom slide, if the Precision Plex panel goes out there is no other way to retract or extend the bedroom slide. Fleetwood told me I have to get under the bed, remove an access panel and manual try and crack the side in, really the bed needs to be down to retract all the way, BAD design. The living room slide has two other ways to extend or retract. We had a lot of issues on ours as well. In fact, we spent all of 2021 getting them fixed. Now however it is really rock solid, and we love it. Oh, but we did add $8,000 of suspension upgrades which the F53 chassis really needs.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  2 года назад

      Hi Chad. Yes! Totally agree the bedroom slide needs another way to retract and extend. The Precision panel can be a bit flakey and if it goes it's a multi-person job to manual work the slide. After three trips to REV RV in Indiana I think all our issues are fixed too. What suspension upgrades did you get?

    • @sitchad
      @sitchad 2 года назад

      @@AmpedtoGlamp Sumo Springs all around, Adjusted the stock front sway bar, Koni shocks all around, rear track bar , Roadmaster 1 3/4" auxiliary rear sway bar. Hope that helps. And I understand we can work the slides from the Diagnostic Center behind the bedroom TV if it's just the touch screen that goes out.

    We bought a 5th wheel sandpiper last year. I think it has spent more time in the shop than on the road at this point. I think the quality control of any campers built post covid lockdown just went downhill. We previously had a 2020 flagstaff travel trailer and had no issues with it. I love the Floorplan of your rig and have looked at a 2018 model.

    I just want to say I love your channel and that seat height is an easy problem to fix. Simply remove your chair get the measurements and take them to a metal shop and ask them to make you a metal solid shim between two three or four inches in height, (don't forget to get the boat holes drilled for the boat down of the chair) bolt it back down to the RV. Hope this helps. P.s, don't forget to get longer solid steel tow bolts.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the sub and welcome to our community! 😀
      Our Bounder is an infamous covid coach bought during a time period where inexperienced workers were prevalent on the line and the quotas were unrealistically high. If its price you are concerned about, right now you can easily get 40% off the MSRP on just about any model and even up to 50% in a lot of cases. So keep that in mind as you search.
      Every manufacture has quality issues it seems. I can say REV group has been very good with repairs although it is time consuming to drive all the way to Indiana. At the Hershey show we saw the best fit and finish at Newmar but they are $$$. I'd stay away from Thor and Jayco. Entegra, Fleetwood and Winnebago are decent. Hire a skilled inspector and they should help you find most of the issues.
      Good luck with your search!

      things happen starting in a new!! Coach not used!! In 1st year.

    Great review of the plusses and minuses re: your Bounder. I have a Forest River Sunseeker 2350. As a single traveler who travels with pets, it's 25ft is a perfect size. But it's a great big box that won't go all the places I want to go. It's just big enough that I have trouble parking in small towns. While it can tow a good 7500lbs, the gas mileage is HORRIBLE, making the concept of towing even the smallest of toads is completely untenable. Thus, I have to rent a car if I'm to visit all the places I want to see as I travel (ie Custer State Park's scenic drives). It has TONS of storage inside and out; so much that I have lots of empty space. I agree with John in that the tank fill monitoring in 1/3s is so stupid, but I'm careful and haven't had an upset yet (no doubt much easier, since I'm a solo traveler). I ADORE my fridge (a 12V separate fridge/freezer model, with TONS of space inside for groceries), which significantly reduces my time in grocery stores along my way, and I love my kitchen and do quite a bit of cooking both inside and outside on my small grill. The biggest thing I love about my Sunseeker is the floorplan, which gives me plenty of comfort on rainy days. The worst thing about my Sunseeker is the gas mileage and the inconvenience of having to rent a car when I want to visit sites where my Sunseeker won't fit.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  2 года назад

      Thank you! The Sunseeker is a really nice Class C. John and I reviewed one at the Florida RV show (haven't posted it yet but its coming). Towing definitely affects your gas mileage but renting can also be a challenge, especially of late. We haven't purchased a tow system yet and sometimes have to rent or uber just like you. Thanks for sharing your likes and dislikes! 😊. Safe and happy travels!

    Hi, I saw your video and I will like to know if you guys can help me answer some questions on the Fleetwood Bounder 35K. I am doing my research before jumping the gun on Class A. The first and most important question is, you mentioned on your video that had a lot of issues (mentioned repairs, and quality control - I saw your factory tour video also) and if you can tell more or less what those issues were. The question comes because of my own experience with my current rv -travel trailer. I did purchase mine some 350 miles from home and of course, they sold me the extended warranty. Living in Miami, there is no close dealer that has any facility to service or fix any kind of RV. Well, the first thing went bad, I called the dealer, and wanted to use the warranty, and here is when the story begins. I had to take it to a dealer to be inspected, get approval from the warranty company if qualified, and so on. Long story short, that repair and the subsequent repairs, I did them myself, got the parts replaced, and was less expensive than doing a 350-mile drive, having to leave the RV at a dealer, and all the expenses the trip imply and the time off work.
    If you will like I can share my email and go more into details, I don't want to bore other viewers with my research. Thanks in advance for your help.

    How easy or hard is it to keep temperature inside the motorhome constant? We have a 2011 Jayco Greyhawk and the walls are thin and it makes it hard to keep the temperature steady. Drivers seat can easily be raised. Look at the way it is mounted to the floor. You can make a spacer to go between floor and seat mount plate. Make very sure that it is well constructed as it has to take loads if coach is involved in any kind of accident. Also make sure seat belt attachment points are not compromised.

      Well.....it started with me wanting a roof top tent for my Jeep. But John, after spending over 20 years in the Marines in places like Iraq, decided he didn't want to sleep in any more tents. Instead he wanted to travel in style....take the glamping route! So we got something that would be large enough to take our son and my parents. J travels with us when he is on break from college. My parents have been hesitant to travel due to covid. Hopefully they will get out with us this year. Why a Class A over a Class C? That was John's call.
